Dimash is a genius! A great storyteller and paradigm breaker! Anyone who watched the video, made by a fan with his cell phone, of Dimash's show in Hong Kong, had the pleasure of a first contact with the song “When I've Got You” and realized, in Dimash's own music and in the lyrics by Candice Kelly and Dmytro Gordon, a romantic, seductive and passionate song sung with Dimash's own virtuosity. There was tension and anxiety in being able to watch the studio version with better sound quality... Now, with the release of this music video, we realize how creative Dimash is: A suspense video with a “noir” atmosphere, but without being located in the past, and a tale of passion about a supernatural creature who feels alone and needs to fulfill his passion for a mortal woman who suffers for wanting and not wanting turn her into one of his supernatural creatures. Iskander Yerbolat's plot intrigues us to solve the mystery of the entire tale being a dream of a journalist who interviews “DQ”, or being a reality where the “vampire” did not bite his “prey” out of love! Intriguing... The video is a show in itself: Desaturated with vivid red details (umbrella, blood in the hands, blood in the pool, advertising sign, neon on the mirror...), a classic Rolls Royce, a gloomy and modern mansion and lots of details. As background music, he uses the work “Flower Duet” (Lakimé) by Léo Delibes. To create an old and suspenseful atmosphere, he does not use the 1968 edition and recording, by Joan Sutherland and Jane Berbié, but rather the original version from 1915, sung by Alexandrovna Mikhailova and Ivanovna Panina, recorded with a gramophone! The music video is a story that pays homage to several classic dramas involving supernatural creatures and passion! The impeccable editing with precise cuts that complete the script, simple and extremely efficient effects and masterful performances: Dimash (the seductive and tormented vampire, Polina Guzieva (the passionate journalist), Manuel de Jesús Sánchez Sotolongo (the sinister butler) and the harem of soulless vampires (Angelin Sapozhnikova, Valeriya Lyasheva, Andreana Tkachenko, Maria Aristatarkhova, Lilia Kiser and Klinnyushina Alina), superb! The music is a show in itself: a mix of Blue, Scat, Jazz, R&B, Rock... Captivating variations: a bridge to the chorus full of strength and seduction and a beautiful chorus inspired by classic rock and dexterity and Dimash's agility! In addition to the well-placed guitar solo performed by Abik Jeksen! The video captures and captivates from the beginning to the sign, which we let pass while still mesmerized by the “spell” of the vampire who can break the fourth wall! As the MV begins you hear 'The Flower Duet' from the opera 'Lacmé' by Delibes which was composed in 1881 and premiered in Paris in 1883. The ride is a Rolls Royce.. perhaps 1970's vintage. Pete Smith says.. "You are the best thing to happen Count Dimash," "You make it all worth it baby!" Most everyone agrees this is one of Dimash's greatest performances.. with a song that rocks Transylvania to its very core with a flare of contemporary Dimash to digest.. and a taste of vocals to die for! Yes.. everyone focuses on his singing.. the notes.. the technique.. the visuals.. yea! They're great! BUT IS THERE A MESSAGE?! THERE SURE IS! (The following is the opinion of Pete Smith) Dimash's mastery of symbolism is no secret and here.. he poses as a vampire.. representing society as having become dead and losing its emotions and feelings.. and longing for someone, something, to raise him back to mortality. And so he might find a 'girl', who could represent anything in our society, like LOVE, kindness and a sense of belonging.. to bring him back to life.. back to who he really was and who he could be now. And btw.. he does not bite the interviewer.. she is his gateway to heaven (whatever she might represent).. and she will be watching every little step that he takes…. do you get the message? There is a reason Dimash chose to sing these lyrics! They are very specific! Read every line that he sings very carefully.. right from the beginning.. as if you were society yourself singing... and you will discover the true meaning! Hey ‘society’ (meaning you the people).. are you feeling alone? Are you making your way down south to the river of life.. with chains all around you? Have you been lost for an eternity.. looking for freedom? You're not gonna lie.. it hurts sometimes.. because you're feeling alone on that side.. you'll come back to life when you've got something to LIVE for. You never knew in your life there was salvation! And when you find it.. it will be your gateway to heaven. But take heed my society friend.. 'she' will be watching every little step that you take! One of two great idols of Dimash - Michael Jackson. The other is Lara Fabian who had the greatest influence on him on several most important aspects of the true music artist. Highly Recommend ya react to another independent artist very similar to Dimash! Hes NOT the "Perfect" singer... not about the Perfection that is Dimash! He is a multi-instrumentalist, self taught, musician who also crosses and Mixes genres! He even has his Own genre assigned to him by his fans, The RENegades, called Bardcore! Imagine a midevil Bard walking arpund twlling stories in todays day and age! Thats Ren! An UNBELIEVABLE Story Teller, Rapper, Singer, and Performer ypu wont believe!!!! Lol Hes from Wales UK, also from a family of musicians! Who sadly suffers feom a host of mental and medical ailments due to medical misdiagnosis and being perscribed mental medicines he Did NOT need!
