FIRST TIME REACTION TO DREAMCATCHER

Welcome to the Dreamworld! After Fly High I didn't think there will be a third song, but you never checked during BEcause how far you into the song, it was obvious you liked it. Thank you for your reaction my dude! Always a pleasure to see someone first time listening to my girls. :-)

Welcome to the Dreamworld! Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip out your spine when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉 "Fly High" is probably the poppiest of the Nightmare arc. It was not done by their usual production team as well. But it makes sense, since this is a prequel, so bringing in a bit of the Minx sound makes sense to me (5 of the members were in Minx before, a cute poppy group that failed). There are really heavy parts in it as well, which clearly state that they are not Minx anymore. And I love the dark parts thrown in, they really make the song special. The light part sung by SuA after the metal break is in major, while the rest of the song is in minor. That is why it stands out so much. They did the same in Good Night, but a lot shorter. About the MV: You can see Yoohyeon burning the spider, which brought the curse of the spider queen down on the members. You will see the spider queen again in You and I. In Native American mythology, spiders are considered protectors, that is why a Dreamcatcher resembles a spider's net. That is a brilliant connection to their name! 😊 In BEcause, Dreamcatcher are outdoing themselves once again. Musically, the song is a fantastic journey. There actually are "cute" parts, but there also are parts where the guitars go full metal. The variations in BEcause remind me of their previous masterpiece, Deja Vu. The bridge with SuA's slow rap and Yoohyeon's backing vocals is possibly the most beautiful one they have ever done. About the meaning: According to Dami, BEcause is about love becoming obsession. And also, this is a stand-alone story. They go back to their horror roots, which I really enjoy. They noted that if you look at "BE" as a written Chinese character "悲“, that would mean "sadness". So the song title would mean "The Cause of Sadness". And that would make the lyric "because I like you" to maybe mean "the cause of sadness is I like you". The video picks up on that. JiU seems to be the puppet master here (or her doppelganger!). She is the one trapping the other members and turning them into puppets, but Gahyeon tries to escape (as you can see by her throwing off the cage right in the beginning). It seems JiU catches her again though, "because she likes her". And I didn't even touch on the references to the movie "Us" yet, there is so much going on. The lyrics are even creepier. SuA sings: "Your face turns blue, blue. Your expression is like ocean view.", hinting at strangulation due to the one being obsessed taking things way, way too far. Dreamcatcher are clearly not afraid to tackle the difficult subjects, and they do it masterfully here - again. For me, this is more than just pop, it is art.

Wow thanks so much for the explanation. As it might be noticeable I'm the type that needs multiple viewings of the MV to catch up on both the lyrics and the MV itself as I tend to pay more attention to the musicality so comments like this are really appreciated ! Thank you !

I don't know your taste in music but since you mentioned Stray Kids, here is a known fact: Bang Chan and his boys are a big fan of Dreamcatcher. He actually said this in his livestream. Maybe this little fact will keep you interested in Dreamcatcher's music?

May I recommend my fav b side which comes in different genres (their title tracks are always rock based but the b sides arent): jazz bar (jazz), black or white (funk), silent night (edm), july 7th (reggae), red sun and Fairytale ❤

Ça fait plaisir que le group t'es plus comme tu a pu le voir dans quasiment toutes leurs musique tu entends du rock dans leur refrain principalement surtout la guitare qui est très présente dreamcatcher c'est aussi un group qui a une histoire derrière leur mv comme fly High c'est le prequel de leur nightmare séries une série de mv qu'elle sont commencé dans leurs débuts because c'est juste un son d'été et Scream c'est la première partie de la trilogie dystopia la deuxième partie c'est Boca et la dernière partie c'est odd eye aussi chaque membres et attribuer une peur ou un sentiment leur concept surtout dans leurs débuts et très dark par contre leur b-side sont très différents c'est tout l'inverse de leur mv c'est plus dans edm ou encore du reggae j'attends ta réaction a leur chanson chase me le music de début le 13 janvier 2017 et good night aussi incroyable comme chanson j'espère que tu continura de réagire a ce group qui Incroyable et que je suis sur tu va encore plus aimer .
