There's a funny story about this too. When we get a full length docuseries movie, we can purchase a stream of the boys reacting to the movie. On screen Yoongi had said something about never doing the trot genre and then BAM, the producers inserted a clip of this performance. His reaction was priceless and so funny. I tried to find a clip but no luck and hopefully someone else might be able to find a link since it's worth watching.

Another duo song I recommend is “even if I die it’s you” by tae and Jin. They have a performance video on their official KZbin channel. It’s called Bangtan bomb, bts prom party unit stage. I also recommend checking out a lyric video. This song is soooo good!

If you watch some of the behind-the-scenes of their Japanese concerts and fanmeets, you'll see them say "otsukaresama deshita" which is a way to acknowledge someone's hard work (e.g. to staff and other members). Hobi put a little melody to it when he said it in those clips and then wrote the song for the fanmeet concert you just watched. It was the return of SOPE-ME, a name in the same vein as HOMME, a Big Hit duo/artists (one of the duo was Lee Hyun), because Suga and Hobi covered one of their songs in a previous Festa. It's a lot of backstory!

I live in Japan. Otsukaresama deshita, as the translation says, means 'you've worked hard', and Japanese people say this to their coworkers after work and all the time when wanting to appreciate someone else's work. So this is an extremely common thing to say in japan, everyone says it all the time, probably as much as english speakers would say 'bye, see you tomorrow' or 'thanks for that'. And well, from the video in the back you could tell it's old school trot, not very BTS like haha. But SOPE are legit the best couple to pull this off. The fact that yoongi is killing it so much, Mr. Agust D himself, like... i can't even 😂 Trot is a huge genre in korea too btw. They have a lot of trot artists that are pretty famous, and it does sound very like this. But obviously trot fans are usually more of the older generation. Jungkook has some funny clips where he sings BTS songs in trot style and it's hilarious.

Thats written by Jhope. Whenever they do tour in Japan its a common words or lines to say otsukare sama deshita. Its means ‘you’ve work hard well done’ something like that. So hobi was inspired to make it a song. Watch the whole BTS perform that. They are all so cute. Specially V. Japan is Taehyung’s land. But SOPE (Suga and JHope are the original singers) thats Japanese song made for Japanese crew and Japanese army. Theres Japanese copy right so the performance was cut in different parts kzbin.info/www/bejne/qJqxaWyiZrZnh9E

Look up "trot" music, which is very popular in S. Korea, a style of music that originated in Japan. j-hope and Suga wrote this together.

Hi I am back. Nice reaction, ty. This was fun. When I 1st heard the song I thought of the trot genre. The song is based on this. flowerhobi on 3/28/21 said Otsukare Song was actually written and composed by J-Hope! During their "Wake Up" tour in Japan, J-Hope came up with the melody on the spot and combined it with the phrase "otsukaresama deshita" and thus the song was born! Suga was especially enthusiastic about Otsukare, so he jumped on the bandwagon and they decided to do a fun performance of the song together at their Japan fan-meeting. The song is heavily inspired by the "trot" genre, which is a genre of Korean popular music originating from the first half of the 20th century. It's funny you say they could be a comedy duo, because "Sope" is actually the name of their comedic-singing duo they created together 😂 They only ever performed 2 songs, however it's still a running joke between them and the fans. Despite all these years, they still make reference to their duo and whether or not they plan to do a comeback together 😂 "Sope" is also the name ARMY use to refer to their friendship, as the friendship between J-Hope and Suga is actually one of the most popular friendships in the fandom (I'm sure you can see why 😝). Apart from their amazing chemistry together and the fun, exciting atmosphere, Suga refers to J-Hope as the "main vocal" of Sope, which I imagine is a joke based on how members in Kpop groups are assigned different roles such as "main vocal" or "main dancer" etc. 😂 Louder than Bombs is a must as well. Pls react and do a live too. Also, Just a note: sites like DOOLSETBANGTAN and GENIUS lyrics are the best sites for BTS lyrics. lyricism is a very important aspect of BTS' artistry. I recommend doolsetbangtan.wordpress.com/ for lyrics, as the translator actually takes the time to translate the songs correctly, as well as explain things like wordplay and context. doolsetbangtan.wordpress.com -baby Army NY USA 💜

This is pure trot, all the boys grew up with this style of music as it's super popular in Korea, especially with the older generation! All the grannies are learning how to vote and stream to support their favorite trot singers these days, there are even classes for that :D in BTS Taehyung enjoys this music the most, but all boys hold it dear to their hearts 😊
