2005…Parokya ni Edgar is a band, that’s the vocalist… In the rap his saying he didn’t know why his there and try to prove that he belongs (rap) Gloc 9, in the song is being tease for not having last name. This is the 1st time Gloc 9 was recognized nationwide Francis M is more comfortable with English, his good in both language (rapping)

Francis M. is OG in Philippine rap. His Kaleidoscope World is one of best songs in OPM ever. The Man From Manila and Mga Kababayan are my favorites from Francis M. The rock beat is of course from Parokya ni Edgar (Chito Miranda is the lead singer of Parokya) who are one of the long staying rock bands here in the country. They have a lot of great songs too. My all-time favorite in rap is 187 Mobstaz We Dont Die We Multiply. It's like a group of rappers around the country (most are not famous but their rap is wicked). 187 Mobstaz live the hihop life and are way more than just rappers. Hope you can react to them also.

Chito Miranda is the lead vocalist and the leader of the Parokya Ni Edgar band. One of the OG in OPM rock genre. I came to know the band because of their parody songs like that of the Red Hot Chili Pepper. It's sad that the Master Rapper Francis M, who pioneered the OPM hiphop genre, gone too soon due to leukemia. Gloc9's clean lyricism (implicit or explicit) get me into liking rap songs more. Gloc 9 is a fan of Francis M, he was the one who brought hiphop in the Philippines. Francis M is a legend and even the legendary bands in the 90’s including chito Miranda (vocalist of Parokya ni Edgar), every rock band and artist in the Philippines bow down to him. He’s a genius and he can also sing well, dance rap in Filipino and English and also amazing in freestyle on the spot anytime anywhere. Also was a heartthrob and a famous actor in movies, a tv host of a very famous longest running noontime show in the Philippines and also worked as MTV VJ Asia (whole Asia market).

plus Francis M’s dad was also an actor in the 70’s. some of his children can rap and sing too, he has several massive hits, and many of us also wants him to have the national artist award. He was the one who brought hiphop in the philippines and has helped other hiphop rappers and groups like masta plan and after that Gloc 9. He was supposed to perform live with Ereaserheads with 100K people watching, i was there but he died before the concert and we all paused a fee minutes to honor him and pray for him as a respect and tribute. Eraserheads is one of the legendary rock bands in the philippines just like Parokya ni Edgar. Francis M is already super famous before Gloc 9 became a rapper, Gloc 9 cried on tv when they were rapping his songs as a tribute to him, and snother old school tagalog rapper Andrew E covered for him coz he broke down, thats the noontime show where francis m was a tv host for a long time with legendary tv hosts and actors as well, upto now its still airing live everyday and all of them cried when they annpunced his death and said a prayer for him live. During the wake, Francis Family opened up a public viewing of his casket and tens of thousands of people came to queue to pay their respects to him coz hes in a legendary status, super famous, and super talented, I believe the government or office of the president gave him a posthumous award for his contributions in music in the malacanang palace (the white house of the philippines), Which was received by his family.

Francis "Kiko" Magalona was the king of rap in the Philippines. I still remember his interview with Mel and Jay, a talk show where he was asked to freestyle -- so clean and fast rapping. Francis introduced rap in the Philippines, and the rest is history. Bagsakan was produced by Chito Miranda (Parokya ni Edgar band) and Francis Magalona and released in 2005. As for Gloc 9 I saw him as Kiko's protégé. Rest in Peace "Francism".
