SHINee is such a rare kind in Kpop industry. It's been 14 years since they debuted and they are still crazy popular in South Korea which is really really rare as there are so many new idols coming out every year. Even after almost 3 years of break because of most members being in army, SHINee still topped all the charts in Korea. This shows how amazing this group is. Every comeback they come out with different concepts and genres of songs and they make them their own and kill all the concepts.

You already konw TAEMIN The red hair is Minho "FLAMING CHARISMA CHOI MINHO" yes, he changed his hair color for the MV and some of "don't call me" performances, but now he has different👨🏼‍🎤 The guy with that "thing" in his head is Key "kibum" rapper, dancer, vocalist and visual The guy who did the hight note together with Taemin is Onew, Onew is one of the best vocalist in kpop together with Jonghyun. Onew has the record to the longest note in kpop and he also did a cover of "nessun dorme" Jonghyun is another SHINee member. He was, is a vocal king, another greatest vocalist. To get to know SHINee better you guys should check SHINee live performances like: "Excuse me miss" in that performance you will know who is who since Jonghyun present then one by one. Thank you for the recommendation, we will put it on the list but we first have some other comebacks to catch up on. Still we are really gratefull for this comment and intel and will make some reactions to live performances in the future. Since we don‘t know shinee that well more mv comebacks are coming

SHINee - vocal kings. They are known for their live vocals and intense choreo, so if you can please check on their live performances too. You will be amazed. I recommend Excuse Me Miss as a start for the member names. They debuted in 2008, with Taemin being 14yrs old, Minho (red hair) and Key (with featherhead) at 16yrs old, and late member Jonghyun and the leader and oldest Onew (the member in the broken ladder scene and the bridge part with Taemin) just 18yrs old. Now their age ranges from 27-31 yrs old. Minho (redhair) is usually not experimental with his hair, but he dyed it to red for this mv. Onew as well dyed his hair to blonde (the one w broken ladder and book) for this comeback. Key (featherhead) also is an official designer of the group and helped designed the looks for this mv. SHINee is considered as trendsetters in the industry, they don't follow mainstream music and if you check their discography they always release something new and diff. They aren't confined by one genre. The dance practices trend also started with them, even on fashion such as skinny jeans.

With this comeback, SHINee are just doing what we have all come to expect from them -- showing us something that has never been seen or heard before and starting a new trend. Nothing you hear from them will ever be like anything you have ever seen or heard before. They raise the bar even higher with every comeback. And that's what makes them SHINee. :D With every new song release, SHINee are expected to come out with a style and sound that is brand new, not only for them, but in the industry as a whole. And "Don't Call Me" is a perfect example of that. What you just experienced is exactly what makes SHINee legends. And this is the reason why they are so highly respected, and why almost everyone in the industry who came after them cites them as one of their biggest influences and one of the reasons why they wanted to become a singer and dancer, etc. SHINee are one of the most iconic and influential groups. They are always setting trends, never following them. SHINee where designed to be SM's experimental boy group, so everything they do is meant to be the first and they are expected to set the trend. With every new song SHINee produces it's expected to be different than the last, so you will never hear the same style or sound from them in any of their songs, even on the same album, and yet, somehow it will always sound like SHINee. The industry looks to SHINee to show them what the next song style and dance trend will be. And it is said that within 3 months of SHINee releasing their new song and choreography, you will see that same sound and style being duplicated across the industry with every comeback to follow from both boy groups and girl groups. So SHINee are part of the second generation of Kpop and yet they are younger than most everyone in their generation and are the same age or even younger than many other groups, such as EXO and BTS, etc. which are part of Kpop's third generation. SHINee debuted young and have the experience of seasoned veterans. When SHINee debuted in 2008, Onew (the leader and lead vocalist) was 18, Jonghyun (the main vocalist and songwriter) had just turned 18, Minho (the main rapper and sub-vocalist) and Key (lead vocalist and sub-rapper) were 16 and Taemin (Main dancer and lead vocalist) was 14, so now they are all in their late 20s and early 30s. (Onew just turned 31 in December.) SHINee are some of the most well respected artists in the industry. Onew (Pronounced Oh-New, real name Lee JinKi) -- the one with the hoodie -- is the leader of the group and he has one of the most unique and best voices in the industry. (Onew means, or sounds like, the Korean words for soft or gentle, so he was given his stage name because he has a very calm and gentle personality.) His vocals are unmatched. He even holds the record (40+ seconds) for the longest continuous note without changing tone or pitch, etc. Key -- the one with the feather headpiece -- is our diva and fashionista of the group who is SHINee's stylist for a lot of their MVs and stage outfits. (He is the one that made sure that the brown outfits incorporated the aqua pearl accents -- which is SHINee's fan color -- so that is why Key has the aqua colored yarn woven into his brown sweater and why the collar of Onew's jacket is dyed aqua, etc.) SHINee are known for setting trends and never being afraid to experiment, so Key is known for really paying attention to detail when it comes to fashion. He is known for always being unique and wanting to stand out. He is an amazing singer and is a sub-rapper in the group. He is also known as SHINee's dance copy machine. Key has the ability to see and remember choreography the fastest in the group. He only needs to watch the dance once and he has it memorized. He is also SHINee's fluent English speaker, and he is almost as good as a native speaker. Minho -- the one with the red hair -- is the main rapper and visual of the group, but his vocals are also some of the best in the industry. Minho sings just as much as he raps. He also writes most of his own raps in SHINee's songs. Minho is a top actor and he has starred in numerous dramas and movies. He is also known as a top athlete. He says these days he goes to the gym a couple of times a day to work out just because he likes to work out, but he is also crazy about soccer, and he plays basketball, baseball and golf, and he is good at track and field events, etc., as well. And not only does he enjoy playing all those sports, but he is usually the best athlete on the field and he pretty much wins every time. Minho's nickname is "Flaming Charisma," and one reason is for his intense passion for sports and his need to always win. And Taemin is considered one of THE BEST dancers in the industry, and that's not just by fans but by everyone in the industry, including his peers. Taemin's nickname is the Korean Michael Jackson. He is also one of the most popular solo artists in the industry and he is a member of the Kpop supergroup SuperM. Taemin truly is art when it comes to his performances. Although Jonghyun wasn't in the MV -- because he passed away 3 years ago -- in order to get to know SHINee, you have to get to know him as well. He is known as one of the best vocalist in Kpop who was one of the most prolific songwriters and composers of his generation. Jonghyun wrote and composed almost 40% of SHINee's songs, plus he wrote all of his own solo songs and numerous songs for other artists, such as EXO's "Playboy" and songs for Taemin, IU and Lee HI, etc., as well as participated in several movie and drama OSTs. He was one of the only SM artists to be given complete artistic control over his work, including several of SHINee's song selections. SM knew that if Jonghyun was involved in any way that the song would be a hit. He was extremely respected within the industry as a songwriter, composer and singer. He was one of the very first Idols to be known for this songwriting and composing skills. As the main vocalist, Jonghyun is the reason why Taemin is the amazing singer and performer that he is today. Jonghyun taught Taemin everything he knows and you can feel Jonghyun's influence everytime Taemin sings, especially when he's performing with SHINee. SHINee are one of the top groups that are known for the fact that they all can do it all. They are a group of 5 amazing vocalists, 5 impressive dancers, 5 visuals, 5 rappers, 5 top actors, and 5 of the most talented and unique voices in all of Kpop. Once you get to know their voices you will always be able to pick them out of a crowd just by the sound of their voice. Most fans (SHINee World or Shawol for short) will tell you we know who is speaking or singing within 1 second even with our eyes closed, with them standing in a crowd of screaming fans. Each of their voices are that unique -- there is no one with a voice like any of theirs. That is why they are "The Princes of Kpop". SHINee are known for their live vocals and amazing dancing. They are known as CD-quality singers because they sound just as good live, if not better, than they do recorded. SHINee always sings live. The ONLY thing they are not good at is lip syncing so they avoid it at all costs, so when you hear SHINee singing 95% of the time it will be live. It's a running joke between the fans and the members that when SHINee lip syncs you can tell because it's very obvious. Yes, over the years they have become better at lip syncing then they used to be, but now they have gained the reputation as the group that always sings live, so unless they are required to lip sync for a specific reason, SHINee will always sing live. They have trained their entire career to be able to sing live and always sound flawless while performing extremely complex choreography. SHINee set the standard. That is why they are so highly respected among their peers. It is literally referred to as the SHINee standard. It's the standard all other groups strive to reach.

I think SHINee's "Don't Call Me" MV and Fake Reality teaser is SM's way of drawing SHINee into the SM Universe and fully connect SHINee to SuperM's/EXO's storyline. Hence Minho's red hair and the red room with the chairs hanging from the ceiling. I think this might be connected in someway to the Red Force and EXO's/SuperM storyline. I also see connections between SuperM, aespa and SHINee with the fact that we see SuperM riding on a subway train in their "100" MV and we see aespa in the subway in their debut "Black Mamba" MV, and now we see SHINee also in a train station in "Don't Call Me". As with everything SM does it is all connected and it's all designed to be part of one large story. I also think that the scene with Key in the red outfit standing on the car that is submerged in water has something to do with the Red Force as well. In that scene we also see Key dressed in his black outfit with the feather headpiece standing in front of the image of himself, which looks as though this could be showing Key in alternate realities -- or a "fake reality." Then it looks as though the members go through some sort of wormhole as they are teleported somewhere and we see them all posing in their black outfits. This looks very similar to SuperM's "Jopping MV when the SuperM members are coming together at the beginning of "Jopping." The members of SuperM are supposed to be coming together to help EXO fight the Red Force and to prevent or stop them from corrupting and taking over the world, etc. As "The Avengers" SuperM is taking the "best" members from each of SM's groups -- EXO, Taemin/SHINee, NCT and Wayv -- and joining forces to take down the Red Force. And just like how the movies "Avengers Identity War" and "Avengers Endgame" eventually had each of the Marvel Avengers members recruiting their whole crew to help in the fight, I think SM is setting it up so that all of its groups' members will eventually be brought into the fight. So, if you follow EXO's storyline, in EXO's "Obsession" MV we learn that the good guys are the members in the all black outfits, and in "Jopping" we see SuperM's "Avengers uniform" is similar all black outfits. So in the scene in "Don't Call Me," when we see SHINee all together in those black outfits, it looks as though they might be preparing to join in the fight. And because of this, I think people need to pay attention to all of the storylines with all of SM's groups, because I think at least all of SM's third generation groups' MVs and storylines -- and probably even now their 4th gen groups -- are being designed to connect stories and plots. Each group has their own individual storyline and concept, but when you put them all together, there are threads of connection between the groups. And that includes SuperM, EXO, Red Velvet, NCT/WayV, aespa, and maybe even Taemin's solo work, and possibly even SHINee, even though they are technically 2nd generation. Even though SHINee are second gen, they actually fit within the age group of third generation groups, so they sort of bridge that gap between 2nd and 3rd gen. On a side note: Minho dyed his hair for the MV and then he dyed it back brown before their comeback, and then he re-dyed it red for their comeback activities. When it comes to Minho, he very rarely dyes his hair, anything other than brown, because he is constantly working on a new drama or movie and having crazy hair doesn't really work for most of the characters he plays. So on those rare occasions when he dyes his hair -- grey, blond or red, etc. -- he only keeps it that way for their short promotional period and you won't see it for very long. Minho was the last of the first three members to be discharged from the military -- he was released in November -- so it had only been back for a couple of months when they started their comeback. (Onew was discharged in July and Key was released in October.) In the Marines he had to keep his hair short and neat. When they were deciding their looks for this comeback he said his hair was still too short to do anything new with it, so he decided to dye it bright red to give himself a new look. (And I think SM probably suggested red to build connections with the storyline and make them part of the SM Universe.)

I was a little late but anyway. SHINee's Little Guide: SHINee debuted on May 25, 2008 with 5 members with the song Replay. Umbrella boy - Onew - Leader, Vocalist and dancer . Red hair - Minho - Rapper, vocalist and dancer . Red boy outfit - Key - Vocalist, Rapper and dancer. Taemin - Vocalist, Dancer and Maknae (the youngest) And last but not least: JongHyun - Vocalist and Dancer - 2008-2017. JongHyun unfortunately on December 18, 2017, decided to end his life So SHINee ended up becoming a 4-member group, despite this SHAWOLS (fandom name) remain as a 5-member group in their hearts. Although it is unfortunately a fact about JongHyun SHAWOLS, they prefer that he be remembered and recognized for his great personality and enormous talent that characterized him and not for being the "Idol who committed suicide".

This is their first performance as a group since Jonghyun’s death in 2017, the other two members of SHINee left for their mandatory enlistment in 2018... so it’s just been Taemin carrying on the SHINee torch in their absence. Taemin still has to go for his own mandatory enlistment as well, not sure when that will happen though?

It's not their first performance since Jonghyun's death. They held concerts plus had a whole, 3 part album with 4 MVs in 2018.

Just to correct you, it’s not their first performance. SHINee had concerts, fan meetings and a whole comeback in 2018 with The Story Of Light album, which had 3 title tracks with MVs plus another MV for Countless, which was an epilogue to the whole album. Jinki (Onew) enlisted in the military in December 2018 and he was the first member to enlist. Key and Minho enlisted in 2019 (March and April respectively) and yes, Taemin is still due to go (probably end of this year).

@@Auntie67 - I realized that, I saw the ‘memorial’ concert they did for Jonghyun where they wore white suits and left their roses on the mic stands, on KZbin... Was almost crying by the time it ended, my eyes were at least watering...
