At some point you should watch the Belgium version WTFOCK - it has some changes in the basic plot and is a lot more intense. It explores internalised homophobia and hate crimes a lot better. It also has a really good use of music to match the emotion.

To make you understand the differences that are present in French high schools. There are common rooms reserved for high schools to meet up between lessons or during breaks. Because in France classes can start at 8:00 a.m. and end at 6:00 p.m. So it's long. There are different sections for the classes before the end of high school exam with either the general section with literature or science and the technological section to orient more towards technical fields. In high school there are three classes second, first and terminal

France was the first to make a remake of Skam and they had to basically follow the OG script to the letter. Other remakes that came later had a bit more freedom (italy and germany being my personal faves). But Skam France does still have a different vibe from the OG. It’s more cinematic whereas Skam norway had more of a documentary type of feel. And the characters aren’t total copies of each other and have distinctive personalities. And yes it does have hotter people 😂 so if nothing else there’s that to make it worth watching

I love how people's main criticism of this version is that the actors are too attractive and "old" looking, instead of focusing on the wonderful performances and the artistry and cinematography and score which are top tier in this version.

That's because it lacks everything that people loved Skam OG for. The realism, the pacing, the way it was shot, and yes, the age of the actors too. Maxence was 26 when he played Eliott, so it wasn't really realistic. And about them being too attractive, well, that's a personal preference, I'd choose Even over Eliott any day. Same with Isak/Lucas. For me, Skam France was too dramatic and too cringey (I needed to pause on the dubstep scene because it made me extremely uncomfortable). Also, I didn't feel the chemistry between Eliott and Lucas as much as I felt it between Isak and Even, I mean, their eye contact was insane. So it's definitely my least favorite remake, but people are different, there's nothing wrong with liking one version more than the other.

@@e.millie If it lacked everything people Skam OG loved, then it wouldn't be the most, popular, beloved and seen remake of them all. There are thousands of fans including me, who think there are parts of this version that are even better than OG. Axel and Max have an incredible chemistry on and off the show, go watch any interview on here, and at least it seems like they actually like each other, unlike another version whose stars were rumored to not get along. The dubstep scene was meant to be cringey. The intention was to show Lucas and the audience that Eliott is a dorky guy in spite his appearance. But describing it as making you "uncomfortable" is really...strange. Anyway, I am so very glad most youtubers who cover Skam OG do France too and love it.

It's good that there are so many remakes, everyone can choose something for themselves. There is no point in arguing which version is better, because neither you nor I will change our minds. And that's okay. I wrote my comment to explain to you why some people don't like Skam France that much, that's it. And let's remember that Skam should unite people, not divide them. Peace ✌️

Hi ! French here, they are in high school (3 years in total). You have a few choices in terms of A levels here : scientific, literature, social studies and a few more. And yes it is set in Paris. Looking forward to your next videos and keep speaking French, I love it !

That's what thought. In Sweden it's the same thing you choose an orientation for example science, social studies, economy etc to prepare for higher education, or ones to prepare you for work like construction, hotell/tourism, animal care etc.

SKAM OG will always have a special place in my heart. For me it was not just the acting but the very personal filming style that I loved. I find that SKAM FRANCE takes a bit of liberty with the character design, which is interesting. Honestly all the SKAM versions are interesting... except SKAM Austin... They had a lot of the same beats, but a lot of the iconic moments they remake to fit the characters in the culture of France, and I think that’s wonderful. Long post, but I used to be obsessed - I always found it interesting that everyone has a different favourite remake, because they’re all different in their own ways. Also the remakes diverged more from the source material the later they came. 1st - Skam Italia - since it was the first series to remake Isaks story it’s extremely similar, but the cinematography and locations are gorgeous - also Isak still lives with his mum 2nd - Skam France again very similar, but as you can see the productions on a whole new level - it’s like a movie, quite a bit more…adult and it involves more of the cast from seasons 1&2 3rd - Druck (Skam Germany) - my favourite- very similar quality to OG skam - the cast all look like teens again and it keeps the same structure of the original, but Isaks a very different character and the biggest plot points are extremely different 4th - Skam España - gender/characters all swapped around, but still a similar storyline again lower budget, but gorgeous cinematography 5th - WTFock (Skam Belgium) - same characters and same big plot points, but structure is completely rearranged- there was a while we though Even wasn’t even going to be a character- so so different but very good And I’m still heartbroken we never got a 3rd season/Isak season for Skam NL it’s was my favourite remake and we also never got a Skam Austin season 3, but less of us are heartbroken about that.

This is my second favorite version of SKAM. (Norway remains the best, to me.) While mostly sticking to the OG story line, the vibe here is romantic with some lovely creative moments. Definitely not the straightforward documentary style of the OG. I think SKAM France starts coming into its own starting in episode 3-ish. Stay with it; you won't be disappointed.

I’m a total Skam fan so I’ve watches every single version from beginning to end and if you’re continuing those Skam reactions I would definitely recommend the Belgium version of season 3. In my opinion it’s one if not the best version and slightly different from the original. I would also recommend the German version “Druck” but I personally prefer season 7 over season 3. It has similar themes and deals with lgbtq+ struggles and just feels really natural. Btw I love your channel and all your Skam reactions

ahhh I'm so excited you're watching this! skam france has a special place for me, season 3 aired right when my mom died so inbetween all the sadness and funeral arrangements it became the one thing i looked forward to. i knew what to expect bcs i had seen og skam, but it IS a different take on it in tone and in the details and i loved following it along! hopefully y'all like it too! also, i 100% get your concerns about the boys, they're horrid at the start of this season. but they actually became my favourite of the friend groups of all the remakes/og by the end (especially in season 5)

I loved your reaction! ❤️ Skam France is my favorite remake of season 3. It follows the same storyline as OG (maybe more than some other remakes), but it still has things that they manage to make their own (and you’ll see a lot more of that in future episodes, I can’t wait). Fo me, Lucas and Isak are two very different character (that I both love vers much) and you can already see it in the little changes they made in this episode. For example, the fact that when Lucas sees Eliott at the bus stop, he is the one to that makes a move to approach him already says a lot. I can’t wait for what’s next!

Well Skam Italy has some great development of the original material, focused on the roma settings and in point typecast of the characters. BTW it was turned as a 2nd season instead of 3rd, because it was definitely appealing. Check it out, maybe in a couple of months of course or you'll get nausea doing the same thing😅😅😅

I’m Excited that you’re reacting to SKAM France and seem to be having fun watching, which is great. While the same themes run through this as in Norway, the feel is very different. Some criticize because of this but I liked it a lot. Lucas and Eliot are both excellent actors and I hope you enjoy this version. Next episode, for example , makes a beautiful departure.

"Skam France is just an exact copy of Skam but with hotter people" lmaoo, that describes it perfectly! (Skam France is airing their 12th season rn btw, they have 3x more seasons than the OG, they're absolutely crazy lol). S3 of Skam France is still enjoyable to watch, even if it doesn't change much, especially for people who have just watched the OG and can now pick up on Eliott's bipolar symptoms way quicker, it's really interesting. The only version which actually changed the core story of S3 is Druck, the German remake (10/10 would recommend to watch this) and Skam España (they have a wlw Evak). WTFock changed aspects of the story as well - but their writing and changes are generally perceived in a more negative way - again - people only recommend WTFock cause their Even guy is hot and they have some steamy scenes, nothing more. If you actually wanna see a different take of the OG story and not just watch it purely for hot guys, Druck S3 Is the way to go for haha!

Not uni (yet), "terminale L" means elliott is in the 3rd year of high school. L means he's studying litterature. As for the common room, lots of them sucks in high school and you're not allowed alcohol inside the school (even though 3rd years are usually around 18)

Acting in the OG was the best of them all because a lot of it came from the actors themselves through improv. Julie is a maestro in storytelling and getting people to act. France is gorgeous for its cinematography, Elliot, the music, Elliott, the common room story and did I say Elliot?

My issue with this remake is that it totally loses the hyper realistic side that for me is what Skam is all about. Instead of real high schoolers filming in their own schools / flats we have models filming in cinematic places. The acting is sometimes pretty bad as well but I guess it's not striking if French is not your first language. Not as good as OG skam or Belgian skam (wtfock) but still pretty good, enjoy guys!

I will end to believe that the first french lesson in england is about how to buy something in a bakery and reveal his love to the baker. Literally, when english speakers try to speak french, they just say "je t'aime", "baguette", "croissant", et "oui" X'D Are your french teachers crazy or do you just think with your stomach? X'D Also, as a french, I have to say that : NO, we don't smoke in house during a party. People who want to smoke go outside (or at least they smoke at the window, open). And personnally, I've never been to a party like this in my life. Especially not in highschool God I have too much to say help me. They're not in uni, they're in highschool. Eliott is in the last year, and Lucas in the year just before. Highschool in France lasts three years and highschooler have globally between 15yo and 18yo. We start school at 3yo, then after three years we go to primary school for five years, then in secondary school for four years, and right after there's highschool for 3 years. Uni is the next step jharfhedgffjsvfr how dare you to cut the last "Moi c'est Eliott" ???? The look between them is so full of sense!

france is the first remake i watched after i watched the OG. the OG is just too good in my opinion, so I struggled with France a lot. to me, even though the storylines are pretty much the same, it just doesn't feel like Skam to me. that has a lot to do with the high production value, older actors, and the general drama of it. the changes they make don't feel intentional to me, so i struggled with that too. my personal fave remake is Druck, followed by Italy. so fingers crossed you make it to those versions too. but it is really fun to see how each version changes things slightly so im looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the rest of the reactions!

I know people have probably given you guys so many different takes on skam to watch but here I am with another one, if you do want a bit of a different take on the story that still feels true to the OG skam you should deffo watch season 3 of the German one called DRUCK, it's my personal favourite other than the OG :)) plus it deals with important lgtq topics the other remakes haven't!

as much as i love lucas and elliot, and sander and robbe (skam belgium), isak and evan hit differentt. my favorite remakes are the belgium and the french versions of season 3 though, they did a rlly good job with isak and evans storyline, not so much with other seasons and characters but yeah, s3 of both versions r rlly good, each one has something different to offer which i rlly like.

Even if you guys don't do a reaction series for WTFock, you should watch it for your own sake. It's the favorite and the storyline is tweaked and changed in really intense, and interesting ways.

No this is not Uni. They are in Lycée which is the 2nd part of high school. (I'm French). Kids in Lycée are 15-18 years old. The common room is the French equivalent of the "Kosegrupe" which doesn't exist in France. Do you see all the similarities with the Norwegian one? The back bone story is the same but the interpretation is different. Love it.
