I found Taemin through Move four years ago and all I can tell you is that it was artistic love at first sight. Move is absolutely unique in my opinion. It’s not his first solo track but it literally revolutionized K-pop scene (both for solo artists and for groups). I’ve been checking quite a variety of K-pop ever since but never found any other artist that fascinates me so much like Taemin, who’s discography is so up my alley and who’s personality is so dear to me. It’s also a question of his voice - I just absolutely love his vocal tone and his super diverse way of singing. He’s one of the smartest vocalists I’ve ever heard, he uses his voice in a very unique way and he I love his voice the most among all the other idols I know. I could go on and on praising him, cause honestly there’s no one like him, but what I’m just gonna say is take your time and dive deeply into his vast discography. It’s full of absolute gems. And please bring us more Taemin reactions. You’ll love Want (it’s very much in Move style) then you have 2 Kids, Thirsty, IDEA, Danger, Sayonara Hitori and many more (in no particular order). Also a reaction to his live stages would be very appreciated - Black Rose and Heaven are a must!

"Criminal" is part of Taemin's 3rd full-length Korean solo album called Never Gonna Dance Again. (He also has numerous Japanese albums. Yes, even though he is Korean, he is one of the biggest artists in Japan as well, and he also creates music in Japanese.) It is part of a trilogy which started with his prologue "2 Kids," and continued with "Criminal" which is part of Act 1 of the album. And it was followed up by "Idea" which is part of Act 2 of the album and it brings the whole concept full circle. As Taemin said in an interview: "The two acts put together tell a story. '2 Kids’ is about growing pains and depicts the story prior to the story in the album. You can think of '2 Kids' as a teaser before the movie called 'Never Gonna Dance Again.' Act 1 shows a new side of me. I think it’ll be something you’ve never seen in K-pop before. And Act 2 is the end-all-be-all. It’s the ultimate level of intensity. Never Gonna Dance Again’ was originally the name of the concept. Because it doesn’t make sense for me to stop dancing. But I wanted to give a sense of rebellion with the irony of the title.” And just so you know, Taemin is not the criminal in the song. He is the victim who is being held captive by the criminal who is the lover that he is singing about (i.e. the pressure he feels under as a Kpop idol). The song is about living in a toxic relationship and being brainwashed by a lover to the point where he is suffering from stockholm syndrome and he has now fallen in love with the person (or thing -- i.e. his career) who is inflicting all the pain and suffering on him. Even though he is being abused by that person (possibly a metaphor for the pressure he is creating for himself with the need to always be the best in everything he does) he can't help but love them and allow them to continue to hurt him, etc. As part of the story, he has been held captive for so long that he is now suffering from stockholm syndrome, so he is no longer fighting the abuse and that is why you see him throw his bindings away. The criminal (which is a metaphor for the pressure he has felt in his career) no longer has to tie him up to keep him there. (Because he has fallen in love with the pain and suffering he inflicts on himself as a artist, etc.) The backup dancers represent the forces he is struggling against as he fights with his mind over whether to stay or go, etc. Fun fact: It was Taemin's idea to include the police blotter/news clips in that part of the song. If you notice, the sound bites are from all over the world and they are speaking multiple languages. This albums whole concept is a metaphor for his life and career. With every release from this album, the concept was designed to be darker then the last. In "2 Kids" he was emotionally and physically beating himself up with regrets and in "Criminal" he was living in a toxic relationship. And "Idea" takes the theme one step further, and says that even though it was my idea and my plan to live this life, nothing comes without a price, and because of that need for perfection, any chance of being average or living a regular life is pretty much dead. Taemin has sacrificed everything to become the magnificent and unique performer and person that we know him as today. But there really is no one that pushes him or holds him to a higher standard then himself. Taemin has said that he really has never taken a true vacation since he was a trainee -- he started with SM Entertainment when he was around 11 years old -- and he doesn't know what to do if he isn't constantly working and training. As he has said, there has never been anything that has come easy to him and he has only gotten to where he is today because he has worked hard to accomplish everything. He is constantly pushing himself to become the best of the best in everything he does. All of Taemin's dances tell a story. As he has said, he specifically designs his choreography to be a part of the story within the song and MV. So, "Criminal" is supposed to be slightly creepy, as well as sexy. He is literally being abused and asking you to please "destroy me more." If you are impressed with Taemin's dancing, not only should you see his live performance, but just wait until you see his dance practice video for "Criminal." You will be even more blown away.

When I hear taemins music the world goes in reverse and it's shacks me to the core. All of his songs are bangers. Please check out taemins stage performance of black rose featuring rap by kid milli it is sexy, sensual and soul snatching. Another great one is taemins live performance of sexuality he is wearing a dark pin striped suit and wearing it well. You will see that Prince and Michael Jackson had a kid and taemin is it. The name says it all sexuality. Under my skin I dare you not to focus on his lips that's all you will see. When you are done I will call the fire department to put you out. Let's have fun girl keep taemin coming!!!!!!!!!

Let me put you in context with this song, MOVE is the title track of his 2nd album with the same name. This song was the true "Cultural Reset" of the Korean music industry in every sense of the word, from the concept and the choreography and I'm not exaggerating anything, MAMA award winner too, This song gave a lot to talk about and broke gender stereotypes at that time in 2017 when he was only 24 years old. MOVE is one of the most difficult choreos and not in terms of being powerful as it is customary to see in male artists when it comes to dancing, Taemin was in charge of breaking that stereotype, it is difficult because you have to have enough delicacy and a damn control of each part of your body to be able to dance and transmit that song to perfection in addition to the minimum details that only by analyzing you will be able to realize. It was also Taemin who popularized the use of full female backup dancers ... and today you can see that totally normalized in other soloists, groups etc. Last year articles came out where they consider Taemin as the one who opened the door to "genderless" in the music industry (that was the concept that Taemin said Move was about) and nowadays it is more common to see in other groups, songs , dances and concepts, etc. To this day in 2022, almost 5 years after its release and having many records for a soloist, MOVE remains a very iconic and totally transcendental Song, danced by more than 70% of idols and groups of all generations, even last year on music shows. Only Taemin can characterize everything that crosses his mind so well, only he could have done what he did and as such there are countless incredible stage performances from Move what he did, as well as his concerts I hope you can react to some of them at some point. I love the female dancers! 😍 I can see that influence in other Idols (the only ones I know 😅) And that's one of the things I love about KPOP from this last generation, the "genderless" aspect on fashion. I can't wait to see it performed live, I bet it's gonna blow my mind.🤭🙈

Taemin was the first artist from an active group to debut as a solo artist in 2014. Due to his commercial and artistic success, he paved the way for the solo careers of artists we know and love today. He has been SM Entertainment's Golden Maknae, the Ace of Aces, and is the Idol's Idol, the Ace of Kpop, as SHINee has beern dubbed the Princes of K pop. I love them all so much. Thank you for your great video and I concur with your assessment wholeheartedly. When people are allowed to explore their creative selves, it makes for not just better music, but for a healing situation for all. Are you an artist as well? Looking forward to your journey!

I see "Advice" as a continuation of the themes within Taemin's previous Never Gonna Dance Again album trilogy -- "2 Kids," "Criminal" and "Idea." With "Criminal" and "Idea," Taemin talks about being involved in a toxic relationship -- not necessarily a romantic relationship, but a metaphor for his relationship with fame -- in which he agrees to be manipulated almost to the point of being destroyed in order to become the artist we see today. But in the end of "Idea" we see him become free from the box everyone wants to put him in and he comes to terms with his role as an idol. He has now formed his own "Idea" about himself and what it means to be an idol, etc. As Taemin explained during his VLive event for "Advice", "Advice" is like the end to the first chapter in his life, and the beginning of his second chapter, which will be after he completes his military service. (He enlisted May 30 and he will be on hiatus at least until November as he fulfills his duty to his country.) The song seems to be his way of saying I am done caring to everyone who judged him and all those haters who spread rumors and misinformation about him. "Advice" is showing that he is now free and confident to be himself, breaking stereotypes and now only listening to himself. Taemin is just one of those performers that leaves you speechless every time he steps on stage. He was born to be a performer and that is one of the reasons why he has become known as the Korean Michael Jackson. That is also why, as one of the top two performers in the industry, he was made a member of SuperM. Taemin is an Idol of Idols and a legend of legends. And the title of the industry's BEST dancer isn't just a fan's opinion but it's a widely agreed upon title bestowed on Taemin by his peers and the industry as a whole. In "Advice" he's basically saying, "Stop trying to put me in a box, in which I'll never fit in." He is also speaking to everyone that says he's getting old, that he's just a Michael Jackson wannabe that doesn't sell a lot of albums because he tries too hard to be edgy, etc. He's rebelling against all those people who are constantly advising him to make more mainstream music or to follow the traditional Kpop idol style in order to boost his sales and his popularity. However, as Taemin is making clear in "Advice," that is not who he is and he will never be "normal" or "mainstream" and he is OK with that. In the scenes where you see him covered in ink, I think that is supposed to be him showing everyone how he is no longer the "unstained," cute maknae everyone wants to think of him as. The diamond you see painted on his hand when he is playing the piano, and you see drawn on his bicep, etc. is the official symbol of his group SHINee. (The large tattoo on his hip is real. Hence why in the lyrics he says, "I destroy the torso that you were chasing after." He's tired of people thinking they even have a say in what he does with his body.) This song was specifically designed to not be like anything he has ever done before. He plays the piano, he raps, he shows off his falsetto notes, etc. which is different than what we often hear and see from him. He intentionally used this song to prove that he isn't one type of singer. People often think of Taemin as a sultry vocalist that sings in a breathy comfortable less dynamic style. So, with this song he wants to prove to everyone that he can be unpredictable and try new things. Yet again, you can't put him in a box or tell him who to be. Everything you see in this MV is 100% Taemin. Everything that Taemin's haters like to point out about him and say are reasons why he shouldn't be held to such high esteem, I find completely ridiculous. I don't think that anyone who actually knows him would ever say he has played it safe at anytime in his career. If you think he is only one dimensional, and that he is trying to be anything other than himself, then you really don't know Taemin. Everything he does is different, out there and definitely not safe. It's always uniquely Taemin, and he couldn't do it any other way. Also, because Taemin is a member of SHINee, none of his songs are ever like anything you have every heard or seen before from him. It will always have a new beat, style and sound. As SM Entertainment's experimental boy group, SHINee is meant to be the first and they are expected to set the trend, and that includes the members' solo work. With every new song Taemin produces it's expected to be different than the last, so you will never hear the same style or sound from him in any of his songs, even on the same album, and yet, it still will be uniquely Taemin-like. Which is another example of how you can never put him in a box or expect anything from him. :D Another theme in "Advice" is about how Taemin is embracing his androgynous side -- but on his own terms -- which I think is a continuation of the message in his "Move" MV. Early in his career when Taemin was growing up in SHINee he was known for his feminine look. The industry thought it was novel and cute to dress Taemin up as a girl and play up his feminine features. It took him a long time to accept that he was known for his looks and to come to terms with the fact that everyone thought of him as a "pretty boy," etc. So, at this point in his career he is making a statement about how he has decided to be himself and no longer care what people think. Music is art and art has no gender. So, that is why in "Advice" you see him wearing hair extensions, fishnets and women's Supreme sports wear, etc. But if you notice, his choreography is very fast paced and sharp which is hyper masculine -- a complete contrast to the "feminine" image people want to give him. You also see him wearing makeup, but it's smeared on his face, as if to say, "people may think of me as a 'Pretty Boy,' but I don't care about looking pretty." In the lyrics he is saying, "It's creepy how people are always looking to cause drama, so stop trying to create scandals in my life that don't really exist. It's all just stories you make up." He's tired of all those people who seem to look for reasons to cause drama, where none really exists. Where he says "floppy" in the lyrics, I think he's talking about knowing about or hearing firsthand the things people are saying about him, but he is choosing not to pay attention to them because what they're saying is flopping or doesn't hold any weight or have any substance, etc. "Advice" just proves that everytime people try to put Taemin in a box he destroys it and keeps coming back with something more unique and never seen before. I interpret the "One (piece of ) Advice" he is talking about in the lyrics as a reference to the advice he keeps being given about being more mainstream, but he's saying, "stop trying to make me conform to the image you have in your head of who I should be and what I should do" -- in other words, take all that time and effort you have been using to come up with ways to talk about how I don't fit in, etc. and put it to better use. "Follow my own advice" and do something original for once. As a devout Catholic, Taemin often uses Biblical references and metaphors in his songs and MVs. And the crucifixion pose at the end of "Advice" is sort of a signature pose for him. I interpret it to be like he is saying, "And that is the end, this is my final word, take it or leave it, but don't doubt me. I have gave it my all and laid everything I had out there for you," etc. If you are impressed with Taemin's dancing in this MV, just wait until you see him dance live. You will be even more blown away. As I said, Taemin is on a whole other level. And, this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Taemin and SHINee. That is why they are one of the top groups in the industry and why they have such legendary status. SHINee is made up of some of the absolute best singers, dancers and performers in the entire industry. With more than 13 years since their debut, they still command one of the top spots. When Taemin debuted in 2008 as part of SHINee he was only 14 years old and, yet, he was already known as one of the best dancers in the industry, and he only becomes more magnificent as you follow him through his career. Now after more than a decade, Taemin is still one of the youngest in many Kpop circles -- he is only 28 -- and, yet, he often has the most seniority and experience. He is so well respected that everyone looks up to him.

The look and feel for "Move" is very specific, it's supposed to be androgynous and gender neutral. As mentioned earlier, early in his career when Taemin was growing up in SHINee he was known for his feminine look. The industry thought it was novel and cute to dress Taemin up as a girl and play up his feminine features. Which ended up giving him a real complex about the fact that people never saw him as a masculine man. It took him a long time to accept that he was known for his looks and to come to terms with the fact that everyone thought of him as a "pretty boy," etc. So, at this point in his career as a 24 year old (He is 28 now) he was trying to make a statement about how he has now come to terms with just being himself and not caring what people think. Dancing is art and movement has no gender. Taemin is one of the most popular solo artists, as well as a member of the legendary Kpop group SHINee. He debuted as a solo artist in 2014. "Move" is his title track on his 2nd Korean solo album which was released in 2017. Fun fact: The blue color you see throughout this MV is supposed to represent the cool, chill vibe of this song, but pearl aqua also is SHINee's fan color, so you will see aqua/blue/green shades with most everything to do with SHINee as a way to represent their connection as a group and their connection to their fans, etc. "Move" features all female dancers because the whole point of the song and dance is supposed to be about crossing gender boundaries and how just because you are male doesn't mean your dance has to be hyper masculine. Taemin uses what is traditionally considered more feminine dance moves to show how you can merge both feminine and masculine styles together to create something that can't be singled out as one gender or the other. This dance allowed a more mainstream audience to start to embrace less traditional gender roles within Kpop. "Move" is one of Taemin's most famous choreographies and it has become the dance he is most recognized for. This dance has inspired what is known as the "Move disease," and it is said that the dance is so catchy that you can't help but try to imitate it. There are literally hundreds of videos online of people attempting cover dances to this song. (It is on the level of Beyonce's "Single Ladies" dance and some of the most famous TiK Tok dance challenges.) But no matter how good of a dancer they are, it is quickly apparent that there is just something about the way Taemin moves that can't be duplicated. Taemin is Taemin and there is no one else like him. The dance is never as sharp or precise as the way Taemin does it. That is why he is hands down considered one of the top two BEST dancers in the industry. As Taemin has said numerous times in interviews and on variety shows, the key point in "Move's" choreography is literally supposed to be to stare into the camera like you are trying to seduce the person who is watching. So, you are right, that is exactly what Taemin is doing. If you are impressed with Taemin's dancing in the MV, you really need to see his dance practice video and/or a live performance for "Move." You will be even more blown away when you see the uncut version. There is nothing better than Taemin live. The female dancer who is dancing with Taemin in the MV is a famous choreographer. She is the one that choreographed "Move". Her name is Sugawara Koharu and she is a Japanese choreographer who has choreographed dances for several Kpop groups, as well as American artists. She has worked with Taemin a lot over the years and she is the one that also choreographed Taemin's dance for his songs "Want," "Flame of Love" and "Sayonara Hitori" and helped choreograph Taemin and her performance on the competition program Hit the Stage -- "Devil" performance, etc., and she was one of 3 or 4 choreographers who helped choreograph Taemin's "Criminal." Taemin and Sugawara are really good friends. She was also the choreographer for SHINee's song "Good Evening," among others. She loves working with Taemin because they are a lot alike, and that is one of the reasons why she has been featured in several of Taemin's projects. Plus, Taemin and all the members of SHINee, are also one of the most famous artists in Japan and they all speak fluent Japanese, so they have no problem communicating through dance or language. :D Taemin's choreography is very much influenced by him. Although he has input in almost everything he does, he has choreographers that come up with the choreography for most of his dances and he then infuses it with his own ideas and style and makes it uniquely his. The way Taemin dances is just the way he moves. His movements are effortless. If you watch Taemin dance more, you will see that no matter who choreographs the dance, it will always be very Taemin-like. Many choreographers who have worked with him over the years have said that, with Taemin you can't help but allow him to move in whatever way his body takes him. Taemin is art in every sense of the word. :D The funny thing is, although Taemin is ultra confident when on stage, when not performing his personality is the complete opposite. That's what makes him even more lovable and why he is so popular. When on stage, Taemin can turn his sexy, sensual side up to 3,000 and he becomes the most powerful and magnificent performer that commands the stage. But the minute he step off the stage he becomes quiet and shy and he blushes when people compliment him for his looks or performance. Taemin has had a solo career for more than 7 years and he has been a member of SHINee for more than 13 years. He has 11 solo albums and SHINee currently has 13 full length albums, plus dozens of mini albums, singles, repackaged albums, etc. So you won't run out of Taemin content to watch for a very long time. Taemin has even held several solo concerts, as well as more than 100 concerts as a member of SHINee. You really need to check out some of Taemin's and SHINee's live performance. If you think his MVs are great, just wait until you see him perform these same songs live in concert, you will be blown away. SHINee live is on a whole other level.

The best way to react to his videos is in order, so you don't get an abrupt shock, and go along with the process and understand his vision and way of doing things, so Advice shouldn't have been the first one to watch, in order to enjoy it more after you're more used to his style. React to more of his MVs and please don't forget the japanese MVs, a lot of people disregard them but they're also masterpieces with a different vibe (songs like: Sayonara Hitori, Under my Skin, Flame of Love). Also you must react to the other members' solo works, specially Key's albums Face and Bad Love, the entire albums, every song in them is a masterpiece, but sadly very underrated, so you should check them out.

Move was one of the Songs that got me into KPop. Taemin is so unbelievable talented and hard working. His Songs are so different and other Artists such as Lablemate Seulgi (RedVelvet) or Onew (Shinee) said that only he can do this style because its just him expressing himself through music. Move was such a shock for the whole industry, i mean almost everyone has a dancecover of it or performed it in someway. I really hope he overcomes his mental problems and wont let people talk him down. Thank you for your reaction to this one of kind Artist

Yes Taemin was born with it, but he is also blazingly intelligent, creative and ambitious. SHINee is the ultimate cuz as crazy gifted and smart as Key is, Taemin is right there with him. Plus voices Jjong and Jinki, PLEASE. Minho would dominate any other group, but in this company he is satisfied to be the most athletic, traditionally handsome, and best actor

One of SHINee's biggest flex is not only staying relevant and impactful as a group 14 years running, but them doing the same as soloists as well. Baby Taeminie was the first to debut solo with a completely different concept and image from what people are used to. His solo debut Danger in 2014, gave a very strong, dark, masculine, rebellious concept that is opposite from the bright and cute maknae which everyone is used to in SHINee. As a soloist, he has established himself as one of the best solo performers in the industry and has proven his capabilities in many different and new genres. He keeps pushing the boundaries and is such a perfectionist. He knows what he wants and will never stop till he gets it. This translates in all the masterpieces under his belt. Truly deserves the title Idols' IDOL. SHINee members have major influence and say in their artistry be it as a group or their solo activities. They will be sure their ideas and opinions are heard from the song selection, production, lyrics, choreography, concept all the way to the costumes. A group that has limitless talent, passion and love for what they do and believe. They have previously said that awards are not that important to them (although its also very meaningful when they receive it) but more importantly is their impact and legacy in the industry.

I’m so glad you’ve discovered Taemin. He’s my ult/god and the reason I found Kpop through a KZbin algorithm and realized it’s not all just bubblegum pop, which is definitely not my thing. There are no bad songs in his discography, and I think you actually chose three great songs to begin with because it showed a lot of different sides of his work. I love watching reaction videos to witness people pretty much instantly fall in love with him! I would highly recommend checking out more of his songs, including his debut Danger, Idea (which is the middle part of a trilogy with Criminal and Advice) and Drip Drop for an example of how hard he can go with his dancing. His Japanese discography has some of my favorite songs, but unfortunately they’re more difficult to react to on KZbin because of copywright laws. But if you’d like to see something completely different, you should check out his MV for Sayonara Hitori. There are also 2-3 of his solo concerts available in their entirety on KZbin if you want to delve in to live performances at some time. He’s PHENOMENAL and his stage presence is unmatched.

I discovered your channel recently and today I finally watched all your Shinee related reactions and I absolutely loved them. I love your personality and watching you react is really enjoyable and entertaining! Totally subscribed. Can't wait for more Shinee reactions! Loved your reaction to Taemin. He is my absolute favorite artist. I loved how you pointed out how artistic the Criminal MV is because Taemin is always really involved in his solos from the music to the lyrics to the concept. Especially with Criminal. He even chose his own director for Criminal instead of taking one SM suggested. He was even involved down to the editing of the MV! Love how you can truly see Taemin in every aspect of his solo work! I'm really excited to follow your Shinee journey! I made some playlists that might help you with that. (you can just skip the stuff you already reacted to) Shinee MVs (chronological order): m.kzbin.info/aero/PLriq8zuqebM4hkUO644ydmBi3czQbAh0q Shinee solo MVs (the solo wok of the members - also chronological order): m.kzbin.info/aero/PLriq8zuqebM56zMMn2B4BXxmY_1eXI_y3 Shinee live performances (you need to react to them live they are legends - all bids are save for yt): m.kzbin.info/aero/PLriq8zuqebM5IBpfj56ceJRQlNl9qnySs Taemin live performances (he's the member with the most solo perf. on yt & I included the others in the Shinee playlist): m.kzbin.info/aero/PLriq8zuqebM5sCAoGUue1Em2kJiCxMr3t Shinee content & compilations (this playlist includes a guide for each member if that's something you are interested in. it's really informative. also some funny compilations you can react to if you are in the mood or some funny and interesting interviews that are good for reactions): m.kzbin.info/aero/PLriq8zuqebM7-HZGbqyz5RMafFhANIlE8 Sorry for the long comment I just get really excited when new people discover Shinee and I really help the playlists might help you 😊 Looking forward to your next reaction 🙏

Thanks for your reaction. Taemin is amazing!!! You should check out his live performances too. I recommend these ones, and as far as I know they won't cause copyright issues. So you can react to them safely. None of these songs have mvs except for Move and Want. kzbin.info/www/bejne/kJbYg6aAiL-Kg9U this one is a mix of two songs: soldier and rise. Here you can appreciate his live vocals more. kzbin.info/www/bejne/h4OodpSaorN3sLM this is a must watch ✨ kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZOlk36EZdt2gJo I love this one. His dance moves are stunning 😍

Thank you for reacting to Taemin! The Move MV had #1 next to the title because he released 3 MVs for this one song in total, the other two are more choreo focused. His solo debut song is Danger from 2014. Criminal MV is beautiful, director and the team done great job, but Taemin was very involved in the whole process. There is a video where he talks about it if you would like to learn more: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gmfWn5WIa5yfoNU

Based on your comments, you'll love Want :) And also I agree with you about kpop groups and solos. Of course not everyone gets this chance, but it is the best situation for the group when the members are free to go solo as well and do what they want with their solo career.
