U2 is an incredible live act, one of the very best of all time. The best live perforance IMO was in Ireland. I'd recommend 'Where the Streets have no name' in Slane Castle, Ireland. The song is about the Northern Ireland troubles, the same conflict that The Cramberries 'Zombie' is about.
@GetOnTheFloor82 Жыл бұрын
WRONG. 'Streets' has nothing to do with the Troubles. Do your research.

Another great reaction.. my pick would be Sunday Bloody Sunday, Live at Red Rocks. They were becoming big, Bono’s voice was a bit more raw, and powerful! You could also check out their set at Live Aid (I think they played right before Queen). For another powerful song, you should do Sometimes you can’t make it on your own… written for his father…
@stevesmith46002 жыл бұрын
Red Rocks is a solid performance, but the live version of Sunday Bloody Sunday on the Rattle and Hum documentary is heavy heavy emotional (so much so, that they decided that they didn't want to include it on the album, but the video from the documentary / movie is on KZbin)
@stevesmith46002 жыл бұрын
For live performances, either go with: 1) Bullet the Blue Sky, live from Sydney 1992/1993 2) Bullet the Blue Sky, live from Paris 2015 3) With or Without You, live from Boston 2001 Bullet the Blue Sky is more upbeat than With or Without You. The Sydney version is by far their best performance of it (they later released as a B-side version to one of their singles), but the Paris version is more popular for the social commentary Bono does. All are great.

Concerning, the "Touch Me", part, there's more than a hint of A-ha (regarding, the 'intro' and start of the 'chorus', to their mega hit, THE SUN ALWAYS SHINES ON TV). This was indeed acknowledged (way back), by U2 singer, Bono, as be declared the influence of the aforementioned song, on BD.

What you describe about noticing the most amazing emotions in airports and train stations and ships leaving, I know exactly what you're talking about and what a great thing to illustrate. And yeah, you would have had a lot of chances to witness that. I had no idea you were a flight attendant, how cool is that? Strangely, my next door neighbor right now is or was a flight attendant. She took a severance package during the pandemic and she's going in a different direction now but I do think she misses it though.

This came out in 2000, they were all around 40 years old,,it was their last giant, huge, hit/materpiece, but they went out with a bang because this song was e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e that year; also....they’d had a spectacular 15+ year run of making really incredible stuff....this is a great song, but....if u want to really be 🤯🤯🤯, u need to hear two essential U2 songs: “New Year’s Day”, and “I still haven't found what im looking for....those two alone prob put them on the map forever had they never done another thing ever again. Their early period stuff is just incredible...u did the song “One” which is gorgeous, but even that is more “middle period”-ish, kind of, not really.....gotta do “new years day” (Bono REALLY goes for the notes here, as a young dude too, lol), and “i still havent found what im looking for”....i wish i could pay u, but im broke right now, lol...maybe in a few weeks, ha:/

Very interesting that you were a flight attendant, quite the vocation, so it felt familiar to see depictions of the singer and band going through an airport. And that’s a keen observation, how much emotion people have when they are leaving or arriving. I recommend a live version of “Sunday Bloody Sunday” from many years ago, and a much older song. I do feel their older material has a level their more recent releases don’t quite have. In it Bono hoists a white flag and leads the crowd in a protest chant.
