FYI, all Zhou Shen's performances have not been autotuned whatsoever and he always sings with a full open mic which not so many artists will do nowadays because of their abilities. By the way, you only listen to 1% of Zhou Shen's talents based on this video. To tell you a bit about Zhou Shen's background. He is from China. He got bullied when he was young just because his voice didn't change when puberty came but that was not his choice and people called him names..... because of that he didn't sing in front of people for a long time and he even tried to tone down his voice when he speaks. It takes a long time for him to accept his own voice again and gets where he is now all around the world. He studied Dentistry in Ukraine when he was young but because of the language barriers, he changes to study Classical music there instead. His goal is to combine Classical and Pop music together to introduce them to those who didn't know what Classical music is. His vocal range is very wide and his breath control is extremely good. He is a polite, funny, and humble guy. He can sing at least over 12 different languages. He can even sing 6 different voices in one song. His music has so many different genres. If you are willing to dig into his performances, you will be amazed by his talents. A lot of music can heal people's bodies but not many can heal people,'s, souls. Zhou Shen's music is one of them that can heal your soul. Even with his high note, it will not hurt your ears, not like so many artists out there. You’re so right. He’s actually a classically trained singer (Bel canto). His connection with this song has more to do with its message than its style. The Shape of Water song that he sang is gorgeous. But it won’t showcase all the things he can do with his voice either. Dalabengba is a good song for seeing him modulate his voice. It’s a song that’s normally sung by 5 people. So yeah. It’s also not his normal style of song though. Big Fish is beautiful. His version of Time to Say Goodbye is one of my favourite versions of that song ever. Baby Das Vedanya is also lovely. He enjoys trying new styles of music and he’s a polyglot, so he sings well in many languages.

Zhou Shen was born September 1992. This song really was an appropriate song for Zhou Shen as he is saying this is who I am, I may be different but accept me or not, I will not (can not) change for you. It was one of several songs of Zhou Shen's affirmations to the world as he became more confident. Like the characters in the the movie called "The Greatest Showman", he has been/is called a freak because of his voice. It made him lose all confidence in himself for quite a long time.

If you watched the movie and know about zhoushen’s childhood story, you will find that they have connections. He got bullied when his little, people laugh about his voice sound like a girl. He love to sing and work so hard to become a singer. He’s brave to stand in front to everyone to show his voice. Slowly everyone accepted him, more people see and heard his voice. And I think that’s probably one of the reason why he choose this song and wanted to cheer up all the people in the same situation. This is who he is, people might be different in someways but unique❤

Zhou Shen has performed Big Fish live over a hundred times. If you do check out Big Fish, do listen to the version from the show called "Singer 2020" (it's easy to find on YT). That version does best in showcasing his beautiful voice and potential!

I’m not gonna lie I think he meant to make it very breathy because this song means a lot to him since the lyrics literally defines his life from start to now. He doesn’t want it to be perfect since in a song when it perfect pitched and everything there is no emotions connected to it and this isn’t a competition so there no need he just wants to sing how he feels and sing his heart out to people that wants to be themselves just like himself.
