As a Canadian well travelled and familiar with most of it, ( it is a massive land mass from coast to coast) What makes this country special is the fact that there is so much natural land that is still sparsely populated once you are North of the major cities. Most densely populated cities are in the Southern regions or near the coasts. I grew up in the pairies in a small city in Saskatchewan and moved to Ontario when I was still young and also lived in British Columbia for several years. The prairie provinces, (Sask, Alberta, Manitoba) each have about two or three major cosmopolitan cities, which are mainly surrounded by rural farming communities, but more than half of the land that stretches North, once you are out of the flatland of the plains, is essentially fresh water lakes and forests of pine, birch, maple, dotted with small towns which get fewer and fewer as you travel North. I invite you to take a closer look at the map and consider how much of the country including the Northwest Territories is still not heavily populated and where nature is still quite raw. The mountainous areas near the coast take up a considersble mass as well and are not generally hospitable nor the heights easily accessible, snd even in the interior of B.C, where the climate is mild and the rolling pine covered hills and sprawling orchards are stunning, the most densely populated city is Kelowna, about 200,000 only. I must also mention the importance of the First Nations in Canada which was sadly overlooked in the documentary. The prescence of the Indigenous people is very strong, particularly in the North and in the Western provinces. THIS is what is most significant about Canada. The land claims issues, the amount of territory that still rightfully belongs to the indigenous where no treaties were ever signed, is shocking. What is developing now is a long overdue growth and empowerment of many First Nations tribes and bands all over the country. Much to the embarrassment of the Commonwealth and the European Colonialism which swept across the prairies and displaced millions and separated children from families, forced into residential schools and left most of the people isolated within remote reservations. With a resurgence of First Nations we are also seeing a stronger push to conserve these natural habitats. The importance of the Wetlands, the Pine forests and the fresh water lakes cannot be overstated, and tragically we are also seeing an escalation of their destruction due to pipeline development and industrial chemical plants pushing further and further into these areas that are not protected. The larger cities, like Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa and Vancouver are also seeing a shocking spike in corporate realtors and industrial developers who are forcing more and more people into smaller urban areas. Condos and highrises have literally swallowed up most of the downtown areas and triggered unbearable costs and unsurmountable problems with masses and masses of commuting traffic. And this is a country that has the most landmass in the world other than Russia!! This natural land and its first people are still Canada's greatest treasures. I hope we can keep them.

I'm sure other Canadians noticed how this lady pronounced Canada. It's almost exactly how it was originally spoken. Just like the Canadian History Short where the European men are asking the First Nation Chief what this land is called. He replies Kanata. The Europeans misunderstood what the word meant but the name stuck. I'm glad it did. Cheers from The Rockies of Alberta.

The vid they're watching is like a bunch of animated post cards. Canada _does_ have fantastic landscapes. But you could string together the most beautiful views in almost _any_ country and get Oohs & Aws. The UK, for instance, doesn't have anything like our dramatic, jagged Rocky Mountains; but I've seen the most _awesome_ landscapes from there.

I am glad you enjoyed what you saw of our country. Us Canadians DO truly love it. I am not sure where you got the idea that it rains all the time. There are certain times of the year when it rains more than others (such as in the autumn or winter in certain places ie. Toronto & Vancouver.) Even in these places & at these times of the year, you will find many nice days. Even when the weather is NOT so nice, you will find it does NOT stop Canadians from going out & doing things. We enjoy our country at every time of the year, with different sports activities & festivals & just enjoying the nature in various ways, from hiking to boating to skiing etc. Maybe one day we will have the pleasure of a visit from you & you will be truly welcome. All the best, with love from Canada.

If you do ever come to Canada remember that we are very friendly and very welcoming. If you ever get lost or need help you can literally just ask and someone will be glad to help. Even in Toronto where we may seem to be a bit more aggressive or busy we just act that way because the city is a little more fast paced. Toronto is the most multi-cultured city in the world so if you don't speak English people would be understanding and would do their best. If you ever come hear check in with your Embassy in our city and they will point out area's where people from your own country have settled. It's been my experience that in Toronto you will always find somewhere that reminds you of home.

So many of my compatriots with will mention their mostly inane, sometimes bigoted gripes. These people do not represent typical Canuck. That’s a typical misconception that Canada is always cold and rainy. We have 4 seasons which includes the summer and depending on where in Canada, it can get very hot. The further North you travel in Canada (and I mean Northern Canada), the temperatures are definitely colder. In retrospect, most of Canada does experience snow and cold temperatures during the winter months, but once again, that varies from Province to Province. We have a very diverse country with beautiful and amazing landscapes from one end of the country to the other end. I would encourage everyone to visit Canada and enjoy all that we have to offer (btw, obviously I am a bit bias, being a proud Canadian)🇨🇦❤️

If you ever do get a chance to visit, plan on ONE of these things. Even the few that are relatively close together (Ottawa, Quebec City, Toronto) aren't actually close together. Toronto to Quebec city is an hour further than London to Glasgow, for example, while Toronto to Ottawa is like from Berlin to Prague. And Vancouver to St Johns is 8 hours by PLANE, if on a direct flight - which is unlikely, most flights you'll have to change in Toronto or Montreal. We have 5 and a half /time /zones. That's literally more than 1/3 the circumference of the planet, albeit far enough north that it's "only" 7, 821 km, and we have essentially the same square kilometers as Europe. All of Europe. The two closest-to-each other things on the list are Banff and Jasper and lots of people do "both" but the maximum I would recommend is one of them plus the Ice Fields Parkway. If you do both of them, unless you've got two weeks you're definitely skimping one or both.
