Iceland has the best soups! When I was there in June a few years back, it snowed, so yes, cold and windy is pretty normal.

Excellent blog Angela and very informative. We will be in Iceland in June. Accommodation: Did your hostel room have chairs? Was there a common room? Did they serve breakfast? We have booked a hotel to ensure we have a booking, but as you said, super expensive, but does include breakfast. Thank you.

Hi J! No there were no chairs in the hostel room, just beds and a storage area. There was a big common room with a kitchen. No, they didnt serve breakfast. Hope this helps!

Great video !! Very helpful. Question: I’ll be there in a few weeks and I’ll be visiting the blue lagoon also but , im not pretty sure if I should bring my cell, selfie stick into that water cus the minerals in it , not sure if that will damage it ? Do they tell you anything about it ?

Reykjavik is spread out. Need a car. But still accessible in any direction in about 20 minuits. Population 140.000 (244.000 greater area)

Hi Gina! Yes, Reykjavik is super walkable. It’s pretty small so you can get everywhere on foot. We didn’t have a car and it wasn’t an issue, but a lot of people do rent cars to see the further sights around Iceland.
