First Time Visiting Wild Waves Theme Park In Federal Way WA | Roller Coaster & Water Park Day Fun

The Wild Waves Theme Park did seem to be very busy on a Sunday in July. This was to be expected since there are very few nice weather weekends that they are open in the year. This water park and carnival style theme park is only open in the summer and then they host a Halloween event in October called Fright Fest. Since we bought annual passes to this park, the special event is included in our tickets so look forward to us covering that when the time comes. Come check out this fun, unique park with us!
When you first enter the park, you are greeted by the #waterpark. The #amusementpark rides are then found above and are mostly catered towards children. Although, there are two large and thrilling #rollercoasters available for guests over 48 inches tall. The first one is named Timberhawk Ride of Prey and was a wooden coaster. We then enjoyed The Wild Thing which is a metal inversion coaster that was the first roller coaster added to the park. There children rides are the old carnival style, although very unique and fun looking. We enjoyed the water park, although the water was to cold and the slide lines were extremely long compared to what we are used to at other parks.

This place is amazing I love it and the water one isn’t bc of low staffing it like never works and same with the mouse one but the kiddy one that wasn’t working was probably because of that. I 10/10 recommend this place for a hot day and even in October is really fun because they have Halloween themed stuff

I-5 dive wasn’t a sling shot but basically a Superman style huge swing. We are hopefully going in the next week or 2. Sad to see the park so empty and closed down on your visit. Really hope its gotten back to its old self.

That’s good to know! Yeah the park is always so busy but there are not enough attractions to spread out the crowds so everything has such long lines for things not worth it.

The Water Park is definitely the main attraction. Wish they would support expanding and creating a better park in general. Unfortunately, its just not something that has ever been prioritized.

I used to work there back in 2000. Fun to work. FYI the carousel is the original ride when it opened in the 1970s. They used to take it down every year in the winter time and set it up in Seattle. Also the wooden coaster is ADA accessible. There is a ramp to the left of the entrance stairs.

I love that place we’re going there for my birthday!!!! There’s this swimming place and it makes bigs and small waves it’s really fun!!

Honestly in my opinion I’ve been to wild waves a ton of times the water section is nice the dry area is poorly under developed so much stuff is closed it just doesn’t make sense to me as a roller coaster enthusiast I am actually tearing up because it takes me at least five hours just to go to Silverwood which actually has some pretty good roller coasters but I honestly wouldn’t drive five hours just to have some pretty good roller coasters one of the roller coasters I forgot what it’s called but it’s been closed for years and I honestly don’t know why they’re mostly under painted but the water section oh yeah that’s good I love the water section it’s a good place to hang out just not the dry area because half of the rides are closed or even more if you want dry rides and then just go to Silverwood or enchanted forest but if you’re gonna go to the water rides then definitely go to wild waves also try out Washington State fair it’s only open for a couple weeks each year but it’s 100% worth it has tons of cool roller coasters tons of cool rides and really good food I recommend going there when it’s open.

I completely agree! There is so much potential but then they also close the only few rides they have which makes the theme park side not so great. On the other hand, the water park seemed very popular!!
