Richard Dix was a silent actor who starred in a great many different types of films including as a bad guy in westerns. Randolph Scott was a sound film actor who appears in a great many different types of films, including the good guy in westerns (also the band in the middle of the desert when Bart first rides in was Count Basie. He's playing April in Paris)

Randolph Scott was also a working cowboy before he did movies.

@@justhowtheyusedtomakethem4732 If you're talking about my personal favorite films..The apartment with Jack lemon and Shirley McLean, It's a Wonderful Life and Forrest Gump. If you're talking about straight Western's..The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, Rio Lobo, both with John Wayne. If you're talking about comic westerns..Support support your local sheriff with James Garner, Destry rides again with Jimmy Stuart.

"kemosabee " was Tonto's name/nickname for The Lone Ranger. It was a weekly TV during the '50s and periodically in reruns since then.

Kemosabee is translated to mean wet bush, and not many people know this but the lone ranger is the great grand father of the green hornet, he inherited that silver mine fortune, im talking the real lone ranger not that Johnny Debby version

From Wiki: "What does kemosabe mean? Happy trails, kemosabe. Kemosabe means “friend,” popularized by The Lone Ranger radio and TV show." The Lone Ranger had an Indian sidekick who always referred to him by that title. Also: "some people have pointed out that kemosabe sounds a lot like the Spanish phrase quien no sabe, 'he who doesn't understand.'”

By the way, the song in which you were asking about is I get a Kick Out Of You. It was written by Cole Porter in the 1930s. It is recoded by several people, including Ethel Merman, Frank Sanatra and Ella Fitsgerald.

John wayne was the original pick to play the Waco kid but he refused but said he be first in line to see, the behind the scenes of blazzing saddles would make a great movie itself, what mel had to go though to make it

The other song that was edited was a popular slave hymnal, most reaction leave that part out entirely

Drunks only had to spend the night in jail, Jim was free to go as soon as he woke up, in the Andy Griffith show Otis is the town drunk that the key to his cell was in arms reach so he just came and went as he pleased

I would not label this as politically incorrect - this was deliberate satire on things that nowadays we find offensive. Mel Brooks wrote the dialog with the black actors. Richard Pryor wrote it for the white characters - he had made his start in night club routines where he went out of his way to shock his audience with frequent use of the "N" word.

No this was entirely by design Mel Brooks dough hard to have complete creative control, and they wanted him to cut so much but in the end mel only cut 1 line in the dark where Lily is seducing Bart Bart says you are sucking on my arm
