Love this adaptation, while it has some odd comedy, its still perfectly dark. The uncanny aspects of the mocap I feel also add to the uneasiness. It feels like youre on the same journey, and you can definitely see where he came from, and how it would scare him straight With questions: there WERE forms of heating, as well as decent lighting, but Scrooge was so stingy with his wealth that he refused to spend a cent more than immediate needs and the smallest of pleasures. (Thus the empty house and the lock on the coal box) To quote: "Darkness was cheap, and Scrooge liked it" The bells in his room are servant bells, you could ring them in defferent rooms so your staff would know where they are needed The ghost of christmas past is tricky to design, being described in contridictory ways. The main constant is a flowing white robe and a bright light eninating from its head that could be dimmed with its cap Workhouses were not necessarily brothels. People would be admitted as only a last resort, as they had horrible conditions, and you would have to work day in and day out to prove yourself good enough to stay.

I love this adaptation of Christmas Carol so much. It's so underrated. If you want to learn more about Charles Dickens, I recommend the Man Who Invented Christmas.

I've always loved Jacob Marley's speech. I didn't understand it when I was a kid...but my God....do I understand it now. "I wear the chain I forged in life, I made it link by link, and yard by yard; I girded it on of my own free will, and of my own free will I wore it."

And workhouses were places for the poor in the UK many many years ago. They were shameful places. People exploited for their labor. Children separated and abused. No love for the kids either. Just work, work and work some more.

The little bells are for calling the maid in function of where you are in the house. I think I saw 4 adaptations of the story (counting this one). The others are : - Mickey's Christmas Carol - The Muppets' Christmas Carol - Barbie in A Christmas Carol (you should see this one)

I never heard of Barbie in a Christmas Carol! I’ll look into it.

@@GabbyReacts well, the story is a little different than the original because it's adapted at Barbie's sauce but it's very interesting. Also, if you know the base story, it's not hard to recognize it. If you watch the movie, do a reaction 😉
