After 219 years it is inevitable that most people in the vault are related. The syringer was the only weapon left in the armory. Notice that he dunps his lab coat at the cave and then puts on a dark jacket. When he meets Lucy at night Wilzig is wearing a dark jacket. Titus thinks squires are expendable. The Institute in canon was destroyed by the lone survivor about nine years before the series. Why surprised the Ghoul stabbed CX-404, they attacked him. The Ghoul cut the control module, he knows how the suits work because he was a marine in the pre war and used them.
