There was a backstory. Chris knew he was enlisting and wanted to give him one final opportunity to say goodbye to the fans so Jin flew over 40 hours to perform this one song with Chris. The are genuine in real life friends. And Coldplay has been nothing but awesome ti all of BTS.

Jin being the maknae for a change melts my heart... Coldplay have basically become brothers of BTS... their friendship is beautiful. Thankyou for this reaction but please watch Chris' introduction to Jin's performance... it makes the whole night even more special.... there's also a 'making of ' which Jin did showing his rehearsals and interaction with the group before the concert...The little 'mishap' at the end was typical Chris deciding on the fly to change things up... I thought it was such a special moment between them both....

I've been a Coldplay fan since their first album Parachutes but I've never seen them in concert. I've been ARMY since 2016. This collaboration is just perfection. Jin spent over 40 hrs in transit just to get to Argentina for this show and to see the love between Jin and Coldplay is so heart warming. I know many ARMY who went to this show just to this moment. If I could've I would've. The love is palpable. The two fandoms have supported each other and become fans of each other's work because of the two collabs. You need to see My Universe and see the behind the scenes to understand the love.

actually 36 hrs. he talked about it with Suga. When army's heard Jin was coming 2 days before concert, they got together and made little bags with a piece of tape and small piece of purple cellophane to put over their phone lights to show Jin love. You saw the result a sea of purple. They made over 5K of those bags! Also they had to pitch shift so Chris could sing. Woteoo is sitting y the drum kit. Every time chris is performing on TV. he wears something with Jin or weteo on his shirt, and coldplay always has the little doll on stage. Chris says he does that while Jin is in the military so Jin knows they are thinking of him .

Yes. Been to their concert. Yes it was a sea of lights. Yes it was life changing and I keep wishing I discovered them sooner so I could have gone to more of their concerts. I love that although this was a Coldplay concert, ARMY showed up.

Jin flew for almost 40hrs from Korea, to sing one song with Coldplay. While working on the " My Universe" song, Chris Martin gave his guitar to Jin, because Chris heard Jin was a BIG fan of Coldplay. 😎 He documented a "behind the scenes" video for ARMY, which all members create. 💜

There is actual a small documentary on youtube about how that collab came about and the recording of the song. It was during the pandemic to have Chris Martin do everything he could to record the song with BTS in person was incredible considering how strict South Korea was with travel restrictions during that time.

I’m Old Dope ARMY and I’ve seen the Stones, Springsteen, U2, The Police … so many artists and am blessed to have found the Tannies. I’ve seen BTS 4 times - at the Rose Bowl, SOFI stadium and Allegiant stadium with 60K+ other beautiful ARMYs at each show and AgustD at the Forum in LA - this was such a beautiful moment with Jin, his last farewell to ARMY at a Coldplay concert. He flew across the world to perform this one song for ARMY- I recommend that you watch Chris Martins intro to this very performance, I bet with that context you’d definitely shed the tears - what can I say, BTS is beyond special - their sincerity is the definition of Borahae and like all true ARMY they have become a big part of my💜

I saw this concert with my daughters as it was broadcast live in the cinema....I was in tears seeing and hearing Jin sing right before his enlistment in the military service. Thanks for this reaction. :) I hope you watch Chris Martin's touching introduction to Jin too. :) For me, it was a performance where even their laughter was perfectly felt. I was very touched that Chris was doing a back vocal in Korean. He would have learned and practiced Korean pronunciation for it, and I feel more grateful to know that it's not easy.😭 This song reminds me Jin's speech in 2018 MAMA. Jin said in his acceptance speech at the 2018 MAMA that BTS suddenly became famous worldwide and had a hard time for a year due to great pressure and fear. They even thought about disbanding. However, after a year of talking and contemplating with the members, they decided to stay in the industry only for the fans and members. They stayed for ARMY even though they had a chance to return to their normal lives. And at the last concert in Busan, SUGA told ARMY to grow old together because they will make music for another 20 or 30 years. As you know, BTS' love for ARMY is very deep, and they always show their love through their music. The Astrounaut is one such song. I can feel the love so well through Jin's voice, and I love him so much.😭 Oh, If you wanna know how Coldplay and BTS first collaborated,「Coldplay x BTS inside 'My Universe' documentary」will help you. This video is uploaded on BTS' official channel. It shows how Coldplay and BTS have created My Universe. :) I'm BTS ARMY btw, and I have also liked Coldplay's songs. Jin is the most loving and sweetest Hyung (Older Brother) of BTS. He is the one who cooks and cares for them. Jin has very beautiful vocals and a powerful belt. It’s magic every time but you’re missing half the emotions. Also please react to Chris Martin’s introduction speech & prepare to tear up, so much love between them. Coldplay actually wrote the song and gave it to Jin when he called wanting to collab. Not in that video but interesting fact, Chris sings backup on the record, including some in Korean he learned for the recording. There’s also a great behind the scenes video of Jin’s trip & the rehearsals. Lots of interactions with Coldplay, you can see the relationship, especially with Chris. There voices are so similar you almost can’t tell Chris is singing. Hoping for more collabs when Jin is back.

I saw BTS in concert in Vegas April 2022. It was so amazing, there aren't enough words. I'm in my 40s and I've been to hundreds of concerts and festivals, from classic country to alternative to rock to ska to punk to pop to hip hop. Its ridiculous the $ I spent over the years on concerts, but i love them. BTS blew them all away. I also saw Blackpink last year too.

I first started going to concerts back in 1985 and I have seen many artists perform over the years and I can say BTS is by far the best I have ever seen. I saw them in 2019 at Metlife Stadium in NJ and 2 times in 2021 at Sofi in LA, I also saw Agust D perform at Belmont Park in NY in 2023. They are top tier singers, rappers, dancers and performers who can connect on a deep level with an audience of tens of thousands of people. They are so talented, funny and kind and we ARMY love them fiercely. Standing in that stadium, surrounded by the beautiful community of BTS and ARMY is an experience I will always cherish.

I was at Las Vegas PTD dance concert. It was the best show I have ever attended. The energy from the whole crowd was next level and BTS lived up to every expectation! We stood the whole time and sang along.

If you're a Coldplay fan, I'm sure you've heard My Universe, but there is also an Inside My Universe Documentary on YT-. Chris traveled to SK to record with BTS during Covid. It's about 13 minutes long. You don't have to do it here, but I think you would truly enjoy it.

Coldplay and BTS concerts are really so magical full of sea of lights and beautiful loud cheers. the fact Jin traveled 40hrs just to perform this song for the first and last time before entering the military makes it more special. 12:10 that overwhelming feeling of performing without him members and for the last time in a while and fans' cheers led him to tears in his eyes but chris made him laugh which made us cry ultimately😭

I have the pleasure of saying I have seen BTS live, TWICE! It was their most recent concerts in LA and Las Vegas in 2021 & 2022. They are phenomenal live! All of them!! They are Top Tier Performers! They're serious and in character when the song calls for it, but there're moments and songs where they also have fun, and don't take themselves seriously and are goofy, and we love it, cuz we have fub when we see them having fun too. You can tell they love what they do.

Jin said this was difficult because when he was away from the band there was only one speaker where he is used to multiple speakers. The time it can take sound to reach you can mean you are slightly off but he managed it beautifully. BTS can all perform live. Live performances separate real artists from the dross.

I saw BTS in LA during their PTD performances. I also saw Coldplay in Seattle for this very tour-Music of the Spheres and both concerts are easily in my Top 5 favorite concerts ever. I can't even imagine seeing them together. I loved this reaction so so much.

Thanks so much for your reaction to this beautiful performance in a mind-blowing setting. I love Jin's vocals, and how he and Coldplay have such a warm friendship. It was a bittersweet last performance for Jin, tho. BTS had just finished their last concerts together and announced they'd be focusing on their solo projects before having to enlist into mandatory SK military service. Jin put out this beautiful piece, and within a few months later, Jin had to go. The invite to perform live in Argentina was a surprise. Chris said he received a call from his friend, Jin, asking him to collab on what's essentially a goodbye to ARMY fans before he had to enlist into mandatory military service, as the 1st BTS member to do so. As you probably know by now, all BTS members dropped solo projects before enlisting (and those projects are still dropping and breaking records while the guys are in service - like SUGA's concert tour movie and JHope's Amazon Prime docuseries + album among others). But Jin left us with only this teaser, singing his heart out for us. BUT Jin will be the 1st member to return in just a few months, and we're all hoping to get to see more Jin projects soon:) (btw, I've been to several sold out BTS stadium concerts in LA at the Sofi Stadium and Las Vegas at the Allegiant Stadium, and 2 of Suga's concerts, also in LA and Oakland, and they were ALL phenomenal! def got that worth out of those pricey tix!) I have been to LA, Las Vegas and Busan concert. The most unexplainable experience. Everything you could expect and much more. All were perfect. 💜 I would love to see you watch the Busan concert. It was their last concert with new and old songs. You could break ot down into a song a video. You will see them at their height in their career. They are machines. They have a live band. It was the most amazing experience. I flew the whole way to Korea. With no ticket. And watched it close by on big jumbo screen on the beach. It was a totally free concert for ARMY. So much went into making it happen. So much money was spent making it happen. You will not be disappointed. Little did we know they were going to announce Jin going to the military the next day. We could tell something was up during the concert. They held nothing back and you could tell at times they were holding back emotions. 💜

I've seen them four times (three times in LA and once in LV) and they're incredible! I've been to so many concerts in general and I can tell you bts hits different! Worth every freaking penny and I'd be willing to pay more to get even closer! And that's coming from someone that's already paid over $400 dollars for a floor seat at the very back where I had to stand on my tippy toes the whole time cuz I'm short (I'm 5'4) 😅

I saw BTS in Los Angelas at at SoFi and Las Vegas at the Regiant Stadium! The light bombs are connected by seats and controlled by the organizers! I’m 59 and have seen a lot of concerts! These are hands down the best concerts ever! Actually Chris Martin came to the last one in Los Angeles and performed My Universe! It was amazing! Best experience ever! Also got to see Suga ( AgustD) .

I am glad you took a second look at this, I thought you would love it!! Yes, Chris is singing along in Korean, he is an amazing supporter of BTS. I get goosebumps from this video every single time I watch it. There is also another video of the same concert and it includes the introduction Chris gives Jin and a little backstory of how they gave this song to Jin and why. Jin flew 40 hours from South Korea to make that his final gift to ARMY before he enlisted. Love this and looks like you did as well!!

JIN is going to finish his MS in June of this year and will release his first solo album which we are eagerly awaiting, I'm sure it will be quite an experience, JIN has a very wide range of voice, he can make highs, mediums and lows of magnificent way, infinite creativity and imprints an indescribable emotion on each song that reaches your soul, I know it will be incredible, I recommend you not miss the experience. while you can listen to Epiphany (best if it´s live performance), Awake, Yours, Abyss, Moon, Tonight. Jin asked Chris Martin if he could help him write a goodbye song to Army, beacuse he had to go in to mandatory military in dec 2022. So Chris wrote and Jin wrote the Korean Lyrics, and he flew for over 2 days to go to Argentina where Coldplay had a concert just for doing this song for Army.

Earlier this year BTS was ranked the Biggest Band/Group in the world and of course our ColdPlay was ranked number 2.
