Even some citizens of Britain believe that. They have a certain cockiness about the empire “the British civilised India” - as if we were a bunch of savages. Makes me cringe. Yet the treasures they looted, that now adorn British museums, tell otherwise - they tell a story of incredible wealth, craftsmanship, education, vision, connection to the divine etc

Many believed this movie would be India's official entry for Oscar but it was rejected by the committee. The reason stated was the movie has too much hatred for british. RRR came next year and it was also not India's official entry for oscars

Movie is 95% real. Shooting duration in movie is about 4 mins. But in reality it was more than 10 mins. They kept shooting until they ran out of ammunition. What they didn't show is he individually corrected the soldiers who were missing the shots and ordered them to shoot at the densest section of the crowd so that more people can get killed in less time and less Bullets (Remember in RRR).

I m sorry but its not true! British were racists and imperialists and did have shitty policies that fucked us.. they looted us but still we just cannot compare them to germans.. germans killed because of their race while brits favoured some communities of india aginst others to get best deal... brits technically didnt kill people based on race or nationality except for individual incidents.. for example in jallianwala bagh masaccre you can see that at the end indians soldiers are also present in the shooting team! So brits killed people who according to them were rebellious! Which is very wrong but not as wrong as killing people just because of their eye color

Will ( long hair guy) has almost opposite facial expressions with respect to the scenes or if I may say I think opposite to his own emotions. He smiles whenever he feels uncomfortable. 😌 hahaha it's funny and weird to notice it. But the way he articulates his thoughts is very well in the end . ( Good reactor)

What Will said about rrr winning Oscar is kind of neo-colonialism is right. I as an Indian felt the same. They look down upon Indian Cinema while never endeavoring to understand why the songs are there in the first place and why they work the way they do. Besides there is this whole other side to Indian Cinema that is completely untouced by the rest of the world. I can recommend some films like- Kahani, Masaan, The lunchbox, Kumbalangi Nights, Paa, Sir (is love enough), A death in the Gunj. Udaan, Talvar. Step away from mainstream Indian Cinema for a bit and you will find gems. I have tried to recommend the best. You guys should also check out Vishal Bharadwaj's adaptation of Shakespear's palys,The Trilogy -Haider (Hamlet), Maqbool (Macbeth) and Omkara (Othello). Also films like Taare Zameen Par, 12th fail. Please take some time out to check out these films. They will make you see Indian Cinema in a different light. These are MASTERPIECES.

@@definitelynot_0798 Hitler's supporters and the leaders regretted and apologised for what they've done to jews and other "physically and mentally people". But the british empire's representative, Lord Dwayer, opened fire without giving any warning to those protesters... same thing happened to jews when they were going to gas chamber...but those nazis gave them apology while britain's apology still remains with them and only shows remorse and regret for what they've done...I blame earlier brits ruling our country but not today's british but they were borned through those evil brits...

You should also watch "Legend Of Bhagat Singh - 2002", he is one of the most well known Indian freedom fighters. Bhagat singh was his friend in the past scenes in this movie. It gives deeper insight into political and revolutionary Ideas amongst the youth of that time. That movie is more political than violent (it also has violence but to much lesser extent). Nice reaction btw. Have a nice day. Waiting for Jack's next "Britishly Laugh" xD.

Another indian movie you guys should check is 12th fail from 2023. Its the best indian movie of the year. Great cinematography and use of sound plus a very inspiring and emotional story. But like other big fancy action blockbuster mainstream indian production it did not get a theatrical release outside India. Although now available on streaming. Definitely check that out. Its one of the best dramas of the year in my opinion. I liked it better than the holdovers (loved the holdovers as well) but in terms of emotion and drama I feel 12th fail was a superior movie

Appreciate your thoughts on this one, it is a hard watch. And please check out the film THE LUNCHBOX, 2013, Hindi language. It is a brilliant film with great acting and brilliant script. Definitely worth a watch. Now you guys can check out the regular films rather than the big budget spectacles like RRR etc. For More grounded films. As a cinephile, here are a few of my recommendations, which are some of the best films in recent years: 1. The Lunchbox 2. Kumbalangi nights 3. Ship of theseus 4. Super deluxe 5. Andhadhun All of these are brilliant films and you guys shall definitely enjoy these imo. Thank you!!

Your country stood and flourished on the money, resources, blood of millions and millions of Indians, till today. British museum is the best examples, its nothing but a fancy warehouse of loot. You are still earning by neatly cataloguing the looted artefacts, significant magnanimous worthy things of our country and faith. Atleast Germans accept their fault and try to rectify it, but Britain takes pride in it. I can never forgive.

It’s a bit of an embarrassment that you can get a History A Level in this country (UK) without knowing anything about colonial history. However, I will go even further by saying you shouldn’t be reading the likes of Jane Austen without realizing that the lifestyle she’s depicting was paid for by the slaves toiling away on sugar plantations in the Caribbean. I would strongly encourage both of you guys to learn about HSRA (Hindustan Socialist Republican Association) and Bhagat Singh. Learn about the history of British colonialism and SETTLER colonialism (USA, Canada, Australia, NZ, Israel). Learn about the strong bonds between the IRA and other anti-colonial movements across the world. There is a reason that the most celebrated holiday around the world are the independence days, celebrating the end of British domination. I'll leave you with a quote from arch racist and murder Winston Churchill concerning Palestine, to hammer home why this topic is so immediately relevant: I do not agree that the dog in a manger has the final right to the manger even though he may have lain there for a very long time. I do not admit that right. I do not admit for instance, that a great wrong has been done to the Red Indians of America or the black people of Australia. I do not admit that a wrong has been done to these people by the fact that a stronger race, a higher-grade race, a more worldly wise race to put it that way, has come in and taken their place. To the Peel Commission on a Jewish Homeland in Palestine, 1937. Sounds quite a bit like Nazi eugenics doesn't it?

According to the US State Department, the total number of foreigners who joined ISIS all over the world is 41,490 people, with 4,761 women. So, how could there be 32,000 from Kerala? It's clear their intention is not to tell the truth but to create hate against Kerala. This has happened all over India and all over the world. Then why 'The Kerala Story'? Why not 'The India Story'?
