Talladega Nights was huge back in the day. Blades of Glory and Semii-Pro weren't as successful but are equally as funny. My vote is for one of those two for your next WF movie.

The messed up thing about him thinking he's on fire is that invisible fire is a real thing. I don't know if it is still the case but the fuel used in stocks cars burns cooler than regular gasoline and its flames are INVISIBLE!! Look it up, it has happened before.

John C. Riley did one of the funniest movies I have ever seen, called "Walk Hard" the comedy is on par with Talladega Nights" and "Step Brothers"

Highlander Is a Very good flick, and the soundtrack was done by Queen.

This movie makes a ton of referances to the Tom Cruise Nascar movie Days of Thunder. i.e. "Help Me Tom Cruise!!!" Anyway, that movie was the Nascar version of Top Gun. But, personally I liked it better, because I like race cars better than fighter jets. And, some of it was filmed during, and at the1990 Daytona 500. The cast for that movie, besides Tom, was also John C. Reilly(Cal), Nicole Kidman, Robert Duvall, Michael Rooker and Cary Elwes. John played a pit crew member who's Dad died racing.

The whole cast in this is incredible. Will Ferrell, John C Reilly, Gary Cole (who played the Lundberg the boss in Office Space), Amy Adams, Sascha Baron Cohen, Leslie Bibb,Michael Clark Duncan, and Jame Lynch. What an incredibly talented cast for a 'silly comedy'. Such a fun movie.

Gary Cole is such an interesting actor. He started out in the 70s and 80s as a dramatic actor (and he’s excellent at it). Then at some point, maybe with Office Space (?), he segued into comedy and he’s brilliant at that too! Pineapple Express, Dodgeball, Talladega Nights, Office Space and Veep, to name just a few. But you can do a deep dive into his dramatic work and be amazed at his breadth of work. Start with the Fatal Vision miniseries! Creepy and sketch AF.

Now, you need to watch Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story. Also a “cry laughing” funny movie. It’s John C Reilly on his own. Do it! 😂

One movie of his that I love that’s usually overlooked is Stranger Than Fiction. Probably because it’s more on the serious side as far as the overall story but he’s still hilarious. I’m not giving anything away by saying he’s a boring everyday man that suddenly starts hearing a voice narrating his every move and thought. It’s really funny but also, to me, heartwarming.

In my circles, Ricky Bobby is very well known! As much, even more so for some, as Elf! Followed by Anchorman and Blades of Glory. And then comes Step Brothers, Stranger than Fiction, Anchorman 2, and so on.

Love this film, but if you want to see a better realistic NASCAR film got to checkout Days of Thunder. Tom Cruise is best friends with NASCAR owner Rick Hendrick. One night Tom went out to dinner with Rick and his driver, Geoff Bodine and they told stories of their experiences in NASCAR. Tom found those stories interesting and combined them together and created the film, Days of Thunder. Also, great cast: Tom Cruise, Robert DuVall, Nicole Kidman, Michael Rooker, John C. Riley, and Cary Elwes.

Should check out Old School with Will Ferrell, Vince Vaughn & Luke Wilson. Also Ferrells role as Wildlife Marshall in Kevin Smiths Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back is also great/funny, but you wouldn't get the characters unless you did the whole movie franchise. Which is great.

Funny thing is that they leaned heavy on Sacha baron Cohen being gay and made it known while filming at an actual Nascar event. The crowd didn't react to him being gay, but when they heard he was French, it was all boos! This was at a time when we were angry at france for some reason, and the Pentagon had even changed the menu item names at their cafeteria to freedom fries and freedom toast!

The invisible fire bit is pretty funny, But please remember if someone in real life is actually screaming about being on fire and they don't appear to be on fire as probably an ethanol fire because those are invisible Unless under UV light. So technically only a problem at night. ETA, I don't actually think it's ethanol it's a different chemical that starts with e.

You talked about watching NASCAR in the future. I highly recommend it. NASCAR the past two years has gotten a lot better for fan enjoyment and entertainment. Also, the Racing has been a lot better as well due to the new generation car they are driving now. It is also more cost efficient and saving the teams more money than the old car. They also have a regular season and a elimination playoff like other sports now (except this is the only sport where once you are eliminated you still compete due it eliminates where you can’t necessarily compete for the championship anymore but you are still competing to get the highest points finish in the points standings that you can). Also, due to the cost efficient car it has brought in some new owners into the sport. Michael Jordan has actually teamed up with 3-time Daytona 500 winner Denny Hamlin to create 23XI Racing. Their two drivers are Tyler Reddick (won COTA earlier in the year) and Bubba Wallace (has won Talledega and Kansas for 23XI Racing; also the first African American driver to win in NASCAR’s top series since Wendell Scott in 1963) Also, Pitbull teamed up with former driver Justin Marks to create Trackhouse Racing. Their drivers are Ross Chastain (won 2 Races last season and was the Championship Runner-Up) and Daniel Suarez (got his first career win at Sonoma last year). Also, the pit crew members are very talented athletes. Most pit crew members were college athletes that didn’t get drafted and retired football and basketball players. Fun sport to watch. Basically it’s an entertaining high speed chess match on wheels. :)
