Robert McCall's previous identity was John Creasy, a former CIA operative who got hired by a Mexican gangster to be his daughter's bodyguard. The daughter, named "Pita", gets kidnapped and Creasy rescues her by "surrendering" himself to the Mexican gangsters. It's implied that he died under the gang's hands. What isn't commonly known is that Creasy singlehandedly eliminates all the Mexican gang members and goes back to work for the CIA with his handler, Susan Plummer. He fakes his death, and starts living his life as a civilian under the name of "Robert McCall". Pita goes under witness protection and is adopted by Susan and Bill Plummer, not knowing that Pita was Creasy/McCall's principal/protectee. She then takes the name "Emma Collins" and starts working for the CIA. Their story is continued in Equalizer 3.

usually trilogies have problems wrapping it all up with a satisfying finale to it. But I have to say Equalizer 3 did just that, that Denzel's search for finding his peace for himself in this movie was so good!!!! and I agree im happy they didn't press the potential love story, but what it did do was show Denzel the possibility to love and be loved and cared for can be found in ALtmonte. amazing movie and writing and as violent as the movie is, it wasn't overly wrought with it and the violence is always purposeful and not gratuitous

Ashamed to say I’ve never seen much of The Office lol but David Denman (Roy), I mainly know from one of my favorite movies, called 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi (2016), John Krasinski (Jim) also plays in it as the lead and the two of them play CIA contractors lol I highly recommend that movie for you two to watch. It’s a war movie but it’s pretty powerful and a true story.

The Equalizer was an American spy thriller television series, originally airing on CBS from September 18, 1985, to August 24, 1989; which was co-created by Michael Sloan and Richard Lindheim. It starred Edward Woodward as Robert McCall, a retired intelligence agent with a mysterious past, who uses the skills from his former career to exact justice on behalf of innocent people who find themselves in dangerous circumstances, while sometimes also dealing with people from his past in covert operations who want to pull him back in or settle old scores. Great reaction guys. I loved all three of this trilogy and think that if it really is the end (which I think is Denzel's preference), this was the perfect wrap up. He was so brutal with the kills in this one, I think to instill fear in his enemies. He's showing there is NOTHING he can't do and NOTHING he won't do. Their lives mean absolutely nothing to him which he made abundantly clear by dispatching them so viciously. The kill at the beginning where he stabbed the guy through the eye with the barrel of the gun and then shot the others through his head was just bonkers, very original. Throughout the trilogy I think Robert has been trying to redeem himself due to guilt for some of the many horrendous actions he carried out in the service of his country. As he said to Dave in the 2nd movie, he himself deserves to die 100 times over. He finally seems to have found the peace he's been seeking for so many years which I really think he does deserve. Him giving up his little black book was his way of finally saying goodbye to that life. Nice catch on realising his contact was Susan's daughter, that was one thing I didn't even consider the first time I watched it and it was an excellent move by the writers. I genuinely believe that Denzel is the greatest actor of this generation. There's not a single thing of his I've seen where his character wasn't absolutely 100% believable. The only way he'll come back as Robert McCall is if the script and story is good enough for him and then only if Antoine Fuqua directs it. Keep the reactions coming. Much love from the UK. ❤️👍🏻🤙🏻

You are correct that silencers (the term suppressors is used interchangeably - either is correct) are not typically nearly as quiet as the way they're shown in movies. There's still a bang, and because bullets are usually moving faster than the speed of sound, the bullet makes a mini-sonic-boom, a 'crack' to describe it more accurately, as soon as it's out of the barrel. They do hide the muzzle flash, make it a lot harder to tell where the sound came from, and sometimes make it hard to tell that it was a shot. The exception is with ammunition that fires the bullet slower than the speed of sound - just a matter of loading it with less powder and/or a heavier bullet - called subsonic ammunition. There's no sonic "crack," so it's much quieter. With a good enough suppressor and a pistol with an action tightly enough fitted that very little gas leaks out, the "clack" of the slide going back and forth may be the loudest sound. Pistol cartridges fire at a much lower velocity in general than rifle rounds, so most subsonic ammunition is pistol ammunition. There are certain rifle cartridges that are sometimes loaded to subsonic velocities. Those are mostly used for hunting feral hogs, which destroy a lot of crops, attack people, and spread diseases. Pigs are smart, and they're mostly active at night. A hunter will put a thermal night vision scope on a rifle with a good suppressor, load it with subsonic ammunition, and start shooting the pigs in a 'sounder' (basically a herd of pigs) from a safe distance. They can weigh hundreds of pounds and have razor-sharp tusks a foot long, and if they figure out that you're shooting at them, they'll often attack you. From a distance and with no muzzle flash and no bang, it often takes the pigs a lot longer to realize what's happening and take off than if there was a big flash and bang and one of them dropped dead. And that's probably more than you wanted to know about silencers.

I used to watch the series back in the late 80,s 1987/88/89 it starred Edward Woodward who’s British I’m British from England to, he used to leave a CARD in the phone booths/boxes odds against you ? no where to turn and there would be a number people could phone in every episode there’d be different villains bad people victimising different good people every episode was different the series was excellent brilliant it used to be on every Sunday at 9.00pm in my country England. I was in San Diego for a track training camp one year, and I went out into the ocean on a boogie board. I connected it to my ankle and as I was walking out there was a big deep divit, I fell in and the board kept hitting me in the head as I was trying to get out. I felt fish and seaweed hit my legs. I finally got out and I was crying and scared. I decided I was done with the ocean and went to go back to shore and I fell in the hole again. It was all too much. To be fair, I am pretty clumbsy, but it was still traumatic. Since then, I've been obsessed with videos of the ocean and I've become terrified of what's living in there too. 😳🙃... thank you for the super thanks 😊 🥰

This was a great film, and I really enjoyed your reaction! Without throwing a spoiler at you (I hope), one of the most important scenes in this film reminded me very strongly of a scene in the Harrison Ford movie Witness. If you haven't seen that one, please think about watching it - it's my favorite Harrison Ford movie, and the cast has a lot of talent, some early in their careers.

"ma" means "but", although it's a variant just for sake of keeping it flowing. Being a native Italian speaker from Rome, I wanted to watch this in original language (in Italy pretty much everything gets dubbed) I wanted to see how good Washington was with the language.... FLAWLESS, the best italian I heard from an actor. When I was in the movie theatre and Denzel asks the kid "Sei solo? Resta in macchina ok?" I rolled my eyes going...."ma che cazzo!!!! This must be the dubbed version, I'm so dumb..." I thought Denzel was ACTUALLY being dubbed, THIS is how good he is. Lots of U.S. Canadian and generally foreign actors speak a seriously good Italian but no one tricked me like that. Willem Dafoe, Christopher Lee did, Jodie Foster, Di Caprio, Vincent Cassel, and a lot more, but Denzel nailed it, perfectly understandable. I usually point that out on this specific film for how good he was.
