I personally disagree with another comment posted here. I really loved the whole story, the characters, and how the plot develops. Plus it makes me laugh and after multiple rewatches is very much a comfort show. Very excited you're watching this now! Hope you enjoy!

I agree with you. This, imo, is one of the very few shows that I would call basically a perfect show. Unique premise, good characters and plot progression, almost no fluff, and gives you a lot to think about over the course of its run (which doesn't feel too long or cut short).

@@Goomyx1492 I sort of disagree about the fluff...it has a LOT of it! But, it all works in context. Some of it is in your face and mentioned, some isn't (like 95% of the store/shop/restaurant names). Their companion podcast details a lot of what you don't see right away. The run itself feels right because...well, it is! 4 seasons was exactly how it was pitched, and the arc was exactly how the creator wanted it (aside from added $$). Apart from possible cancellation, they all knew it was no more than 4 seasons, which honestly isn't something that is really done. It gives everyone involved (cast, crew, executives, network...) a definitive set of criteria to work with, and the end goal can be met right from the very beginning.

Work like crazy to NOT be spoiled. Warn people every video. It's very important with this. It's an amazing show. My one big tip? Don't obsess over this, but the more stuff you remember going forward (even minor things), the more pleasant little surprises you'll get later on. It's not a spoiler to say this show references it's older episodes a LOT. It's fun (and also why a lot of people rewatch, to pick up that stuff later). But even without that aspect, you'll still have one of the best viewing experiences of your life.

I’d forgotten how good this show was! Thanks for the reminder. Can’t ever go wrong with Ted Danson or Kristen Bell. Clever storylines with some really unique twists and I loved the alternative cursing as well…adopted some of that myself! Another great reaction Travis, thank you! Oh man I forgot how much I LOVE this show! I don't know if anyone told you about this (not spoilers), but as far as I remember, the showrunners were basically given carte blanche to create whatever they wanted because of their previous track record of shows. It's legit some of the most clever writing ever on TV.

I totally missed this show when it was on. Someone finally sat me down and made me watch it. I liked it...a lot. But it took me awhile to REALLY become obsessed with it. Oh fork yeah! This is one of my favorite shows ever, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! If you want another really good one to check out, I recommend Our Flag Means Death, a comedy set during the golden age of piracy. It's only one season so far, but it's absolutely fantastic!
