You can't always trust reviews. The third movie in a trilogy rarely lives up to peoples' expectations, no matter how good it is, and that can colour folks' reactions. Revolutions is about on par with Reloaded. If you enjoyed this, you'll enjoy that. And I can't speak for everyone, but I'd be disappointed if I didn't get to see your reaction to the finale.

My main complaint is that the majority of the third Matrix movie is not even spent in the Matrix. It's focused too much on the war with the machines, which we have frankly seen before in loads of other movies. Even most of the Terminator movies knew that overplaying the war in the future would make it lose its impact.

The story is not complete without the third movie, and it's actually good in my opinion, though not at the same level as the first one. I don't understand those people who give bad reviews to the second and third movies. Even more so, those who watched the second movie just for the action scenes, without watching the first movie, and then started wondering why they don't understand the story (yes, I was shocked when I spoke to some of those people).

Oh no please watch the 3rd movie. The problem was that the second and third movie were actually made at the same time as a result when the 3rd one was released 8 months later certain important plot points and theme from the second movie were forgotten which would have made it more easier for some people to understand. You're dealing with a movie that deals with concepts that requires a second or third viewing to actually get the gist. There were even some emotional moments that flew over some peoples head in the second movie. However, I'm pretty certain that if people had binged watched the entire trilogy, people would have had a better appreciation for the conclusion. This was something I had observed with my friends. EDIT: Felt so good when you were able to pick up on that slice of cake that gave the woman and orgasm and you even went as far as to pick up on the fact that he was leaving the table to conduct his business with the lady.

I may be reading way to much into it (no, definitely reading way too much into it), but as soon as you realize that All of the Matrix movies are an allegory of the inner path of the individual, then you can watch things that seem terribly silly and see a deeper meaning. That is why I have loved all four movies.

The third movie is not only conclusion of the story. The reviews are understandably that because gradually through the plot the story gets more and more philosophical. People understand nearly all that is told in the first movie. It is very down to Earth and human. There are only hints at philosophy, mysticism and religion. The second is action packed, but has some influx of Meriovingian and Architecht with their complicated explanations. You have to watch the third.

Basically in layman terms, Zion was the machine trash bin of the Matrix, the integral anomaly in not a single entity, but everyone that reject the program of the Matrix, they are all gather in Zion to be deleted at the end of the cycle.

If you like the fighting in The Matrix and havnt seen it before Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000) is a exellent movie, same level of great martial arts and the story is amazing, both movie are on my top 5 of all time can not recommend it enough. Hero (2002) is also very good.

I am delighted that you liked this second film, and I hope (I recommend) that you can see the third because regardless of the criticisms and appreciations of others, what is important is to have your own opinion on a subject. This is also one of the themes of this saga, individual choice and its impact on the community, on the world. Furthermore, it is understandable that it is the least appreciated of the three original films, because apart from the introduction of Lore in the first, we begin to "touch" from the second film on psychological and metaphysical questions, on philosophy or even spirituality, which will inevitably cause debate, create supporters or detractors, some only liking the "action" part or what is easily understandable while others, by lack of interest in these themes or by their refutation , may not have liked the latest films. Without spoiling the last opus for you, I will say that it can answer questions set up from the beginning, it also contains some fights but they are not the central point of the film, it is the narration and the questions raised around it. of choice and purpose which are essential... There was also a video game with live action cut-scenes that function as companion material to this movie. It fleshes out a few of the side characters. There are also two short films in the "Animatrix" collection that function as preludes to Reloaded. The franchise as a whole is very creative and well thought out, spread across multiple forms of media. The only downside is that the first installment (the first movie) sets up an expectation as to how the tone is going to be across the franchise, and that definitely shifts as the story develops.

I love all three movies even if i think 2 and 3 have a lot of flaws. I think theres probably a single great movie that could be made if you combine the second and third into a single story. But 3 is definitely worth watching.

The Matrix Revolutions is not a bad film at all. It is both very watchable and kind of a required part of the trilogy. Now Matrix Resurrections? THAT'S hot garbage, and I wouldn't mind having a roast viewing if I'm being honest.

Free will was always an illusion. No matter what path you take, it was the path that was always going to happen. The first movie was about finding the one, (Neo) and him becoming the one. Second and third movie was about what he was always going to do, end a war.

I think you're missing the point a bit. The first movie was about the power of seizing the freedom to define your own identity. The second is about how that power is actually meaningless inside a societal system meant to repress it. Notice how we're moving upwards in terms of the scope of the social constructs considered. Follow that line.

When the 3rd movie came out people had expectations, and in some ways I'd say it's unsatisfying. That being said I think it's actually good, despite being unsatisfying. Also I can not imagine leaving on a cliffhanger, I think you'll appreciate having closure. Just don't have high expectations... and I think you'll enjoy it.

People complain about the second and third for dumb reasons. They expected the second and third movies to blow your mind like the first one, but that's not how it works. Once the mind is blow wide open, it can't be blown open again. The issues with the third movie are mostly artifacts of the time of it's release. If it was as bad as reviews and people act like it is, it wouldn't be recalled as a Trilogy, with the 4th being mostly rejected by the fanbase. I really think you'd enjoy the 3rd installment since you've enjoyed the first 2. EDIT: The conclusion I think is wonderful, however the plot takes...a somewhat divine leaning that many didn't appreciate at release. There's some fantastic in Matrix and out action, thought-provoking discussion on the nature of reality, and given that we're dealing with Machines how could we not have a Deus Ex Machina featured? The Animatrix stories are also wonderful explorations into the world, how it came to be, and other tangents that are interesting to contemplate, but not exactly relevant to the story of Neo.

This is a split that has both sides very confident in their perception. Plenty of folks will tell you that all of the sequels are terrible, and that you should consider it a standalone movie. The reviews will show that. The main complaint with the sequels is the over use of CGI. Plenty of folks enjoy the whole saga, including it's weaknesses. If your mind is gripped with this world, you NEED to watch them all, to get the full picture. There's this trilogy, then the Animatrix (9 short animated movies by the world's best animators), and the latest Resurrections. I was sceptical until about half way through Resurrections. It won me over. I'm one of those who suggests you watch the entire saga. It's a thinker's franchise.

You won't regret watching the third movie if you liked the second one. In my opinion, the second and third movies create a huge plot hole; which may be a reason so many people dislike them: Too many improbable miracles/disasters need to happen OUTSIDE the Matrix for the story to progress. But if you can look beyond that, they're still quite enjoyable for action, thriller movies. One plot fix would be that "the Desert of the Real" is another Matrix encompassing the one we know. A lesser remedy would be that Neo's implants are always wirelessly connected to the Matrix, so he can eventually control the Sentinels/squiddies. Any further discussion on my part would be spoilers.

The Matrix movies are based on philosophy. Every movie ramps up the depth of the viewer required to process the content. Each movie loses more and more people because of this. I have a friend who complained about the "silliness" of the first movie, even. Where you get off the ride is dependent on you. And yes, I'm including the fourth movie in this explanation, although I have a single creative choice complaint about it: the philosophical commentary I'm fine with, but I think the way the ending is portrayed feels a little too Deus Ex Machina even though it isn't.

Not sure why you're considering whether or not to watch the 3rd one based on a review? You have to admit that the 1st and 2nd movies are worth you're time watching them. That alone is reason enough to watch the 3rd one, because these are so iconic that you have to at the very least have an opinion about the 3rd one... so that you have an opinion about the whole trilogy. As it turns out that review definitely is NOT worth the time you took to read or listen to it, because the 3rd movie is also iconic and well worth the time watching it. DEFINITELY WATCH MATRIX REVOLUTIONS! 🛑 DO NOT WATCH MATRIX RESURRECTIONS! Matrix 3 concludes the trilogy, like it or not, it is the story the directors wanted to tell. Matrix 4 (resurrection 2021) was basically a cash grab by the studio and the director kinda intentionally made the movie bad. It's kinda bizarre.
