I love that you're loving the show! Still watching the reaction but had to stop to answer your question about the "taking the fifth" joke. "Taking the fifth" refers to the Fifth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which gives a person the right to refuse to answer questions in a legal setting to avoid incriminating themselves. When Melfi says this, she's playfully suggesting that she wouldn't answer Tony's question to protect herself, much like how someone might "plead the fifth" in court to avoid self-incrimination. But since she's talking to a known mobster (who often plead the fifth in court), Dr. Melfi realizes that it sounded like she was making a mafia pun. She realizes the implication of what she just said, especially in the context of their therapist-patient relationship and Tony's criminal background.

Jackie's appearance is brief but definitely impactful. Tony's relationship with him ties in to what he says in episode 1, about his admiration of Gary Cooper the "strong silent type". Also, yeah, the gambler cop thinks Tony is having an affair with dr. Melfi, that's what he meant with his "prime rib" remark

Great reaction again and I think the ending scene with AJ shows him losing his innocence realizing his father isn't who he thought he was but he also still loves him.

The actor playing Silvio is Little Steven, who has been in Bruce Springsteen's band forever. He supposedly contributed music ideas to David Chase's set lists. The music is so spot on and great sounding. Love it.

The are 2 mob comedies with Robert Deniro and Billy Crystal called Analyze This and Analyze That. They are both great and they're about a mob boss that goes into therapy. Aside from being awesome they give you an idea of why Tony or any mobster would be so afraid of someone seeing or knowing that they're going to a Psychiatrist.

Flies are innocent living beings as all are, simply take them outside, not kill them. Also AJ killing Frogs is evil aswell. I think they were making a statement about AJ with how this episode we see him killing a Fly, hear he kills Frogs and then see the photo of him with the Fish.

Great reaction! ❤ Although Tony is a murderous mobster. The writing and James Gandolfini's acting makes it hard not to like him. Can't wait for your next Sopranos reaction! I also loved both SNES and N64. Goldeneye was the game I loved the most on N64 but SNES I'm not sure. Too many good games 😁

I also would have liked to see more of Jackie. But his point as a character kind of was to die. Because his death leaves a void that sets up a power struggle between Tony and Junior. I think if they had known that the show would run for 6 seasons, they would have kept Jackie around a little longer though.

Yeah that makes sense-- I just think the death would've been much more significant if they had let us kinda fall in love with his character more. But yeah, it did its job, which was to set the stage for Tony and Junior to repair the relationship.

And when Melfi said she’d have to “plead the fifth” The fifth amendment is the right not to incriminate yourself. Historically when high profile mafia members, or other high profile individuals suspected of illegal activity, go before congress or the court and are asked questions pertaining to potential crimes, the suspected party can “plead the fifth” Which basically means they decline to answer on the grounds they may incriminate themselves. This is a fairly well known expression and cliche in the culture. There’s actually a hilarious Chapelle’s Show sketch about this you can look up here on YT.

As you can tell Tony has zero respect for his cop “buddy”... Vin Makazian. For one he’s a cop & he’s also an out of control gambler. The implied backstory is Makazian got into heavy gambling debts with Tony’s crew & provides inside info for Tony as part of his debt repayment.

Hey Jeff! Thanks:) The headphones are great quality and the sound is really clear... but they're not super flexible and I wish they were adjustable. So, 10/10 for sound, but 7/10 for comfortability. Not sure that they're worth the price. Cheers!

Classic mob movies that are MUST see’s The Godfather 1 and 2 The Untouchables Goodfellas Scarface A Bronx Tale Almost all of these movies are made reference to multiple times during the course of the show. And these can satisfy you when you’re jonesing for mob action in between episodes.
