Probably one of the best skits ever written on this show. My opinion of course.

It is definitely the funniest thing they have put out since the Celebrity Jeopardy skits

A lot of these measurements were used by the English with strange origins like Furlongs and at one stage there was 13 inches in a foot but standardized by king Henry’s actual foot to 12 inches.

This SNL skit reminds me that yes we really did create a totally confusing country and we blindly accept things that don't make sense.

Yes don't forget the greatest Country that has ever existed. And "we" didn't do anything, greater generations before us did all of the work. We went to war with the Democrat slave owners, many republicans lost their lives so all men could be free

I glad most things are metric these days. Our shoe size however is based on the number of barley corns lined up together. Empirical measurements are so rando. You have to watch part 2 now.

US football, I think, is linked to rugby football(another mostly hand dominated sport)in the UK. Rugby football was before soccer football. Therefore US football and soccer football both derived from the earlier sport of rugby football. Hence all have the 'football' name.

Who the hell taught you that?! Football, aka soccer, has been played since 1300"s. Originally the ball could be kicked, carried or thrown. The word soccer is a made up short form of Association Football and applies to a specific code of football. American football is based on rugby league, which comes from rugby union, which comes from football. Rugby being the UK town where the game was devised.

Bro react to Uriah Heep July Morning. Song is like 10 minutes but it is one of the greatest and also most underrated songs in rock music history There are few songs that i would place higher

I dunno about Polo but I'm gonna check out Uriah Heep. I remember the name from back in the day, but I don't remember their music. I'm always looking for music I never heard or forgot that I knew. ...Marco...

Please don't view this skit as a reflection of modern day SNL. This is an anomaly.

You need to watch some SNL from the 80’s think the late 70’s to early 80’s was their golden age. There was a great one with Joe Montana and Walter Peyton. The whole episode was gold but the Church Lady skit with Dana Carvey was exceptional.

We call it football because before the forward pass, the only way was kicking the ball to pass to your teammates, similar to rugby. What the world calls football today, used to be called association football. So they named it soccer for short. Soccer was a name coined by Europe while the America football name had already been established. It wasn’t until later that the world started calling soccer, football. Hope that helps.
