Hey, Liala! The biggest detriment to this film is that Apocalypse doesn't come across as terrifyingly formidable despite his insidious plan to enslave humanity telepathically by co-opting Charles' mind. Apocalypse always seems invincible in the comics and cartoon. His Darwinian philosophy isn't made explicit to those who know nothing about the character; he just seems like your typical megalomaniac. The highlights are: -- the Egyptian opening -- the Magneto family tragedy -- the introduction of Psylocke -- the Quicksilver sequence -- the Weapon X cameo -- the battle in Cairo using powers in concert (a staple that's always handled well) -- the psychic avatar duel -- the new line-up with a bald Charles at the end I loved how they made Logan look just like the Barry Windsor-Smith illustrations from the "Weapon X" comic. I also really liked the portrayals of Storm by Alexandra Shipp and Nightcrawler by Kodi Smit-McPhee. The guy who played Caliban was also great! The duality of Charles and Erik continues to remain the affecting core of the franchise. I hated that they started to go down the same Phoenix path they trod before in "X3" but, fortunately, they attempted to course-correct in the next movie by making the Phoenix Force something external to Jean. Halle Berry was cast for her status as a high profile actress but was never thought appropriate for the role of Storm by fandom. Whether they even bothered with the accent to be comic accurate or she had difficulty affecting one is unknown. Alexandra Shipp has a British accent normally but affected a generic African accent for the role. The upbringing as a Cairo street urchin is true. She picks Xavier's pocket when he discovers her. She was never a villain in the comics. Psylocke has a complex back story. Fangirl Olivia Munn insisted on the strappy Kwannon look when she inhabits a Japanese body but, initially, she is Betsy Braddock, the sister of Captain Britain aka Brian Braddock. Wolverine's electronic attachments were probably sensors but were included on film to be comic accurate to Barry Windsor-Smith's illustrations for the "Weapon X" storyline. This franchise wasn't made with a cohesive plan which is why there are so many continuity errors explained as variances in multiple timelines. No one knew the first film would be successful or as impactful on superhero cinema as it was. Once the train left the station, the filmmakers just kept laying down track and the audience went along with it. Characters meet for the first time at different points in the two timelines. Simple to understand. Don't overthink it. Essex Corp. refers to Nathaniel Essex aka Mr. Sinister, an end-credit scene that pays off somewhat in "New Mutants". I have a soft spot for the X franchise and am willing to overlook its flaws. So the only good thing I enjoyed about this film was the amazing Quicksilver scene and the ending where we saw all the X-Men lined up in their own unique outfits that reflect their personality and powers, Mystique is wearing clothes as well while in her true blue form just like the comics. These outfits are the closest to what people imagine when they picture these characters like their default outfits. Unfortunately these outfits were really just created for a shortscene and were not meant to be worn for a full length film so the quality could be a little better but when the sequel came out the X-Men got new outfits loosely inspired by New X-Men by Grant Morrison which featured a more leather biker look with a big yellow X across the jackets. The New X-Men began in 2002 so Grant actually took ideas from the X-Men 2000s films where they wore Black Leather which itself was inspired by films like The Matrix and Blade which were inspired by Grant Morrison's The Invisibles comic series from the 1990s that had a very counter culture look and feel which didn't become mainstream until the Matrix. Pretty much Grant started the whole Black Leather 90s look in media until it became more mainstream. So I can't say these outfits are comic accurate as in fact alot of the movie outfit we see can be classed as slightly accurate or at least inspired by the comics BUT the outfits we've seen at the end of this film are the closest to the iconic X-Men outfits. Hopefully with Deadpool 3 we see Wolverine wearing his Wolverine suit from the comics instead of the tank top and jeans or his leather jacket. Was never a big fan of the leather look showcased in the original films lacked personality compared to each character having their own unique outfit. I would just recommend watching Logan next but you'll no doubt want to finish this series and not skip any film. The Dark Phoenix Saga is a whole Saga worth a series of films yet it was crammed into a single film lacking any depth or interesting details that doesn't come close to the comics or the amazing Animated Series storyline from the 1990s show that was made up of like 4 to 5 episodes and was built up throughout the seasons instead of "Oh this is happening now" like it was showcased in the film. The 1990s X-Men show also had an amazing Days of Future Past episodes as well so you can always check them out instead of watching the film Dark Phoenix lol

only complaint about this movie. They could have Jean save they day but they shouldn't have nerfed Apocalypse and let him be killed the way he was. Completely out of character Apocalypse way more powerful than that. He is a top tier Villian, way more powerful than anyone the xmen faced yet with possible exception of Nimrod which they had to time travel to prevent because they couldn't actually beat it.

Fun fact quick silvers entire body is just fast that includes matabolism and healing not as fast as wolverines healing but quicksilver can heal bones snd cuts at a faster rate than humans Every chemical reaction in his body is just faster from reaction time to thinking thats why he so fast Its allways cool how mutant powers have a sort full round effect its nit just some special force making him move fast but his actual biology is faster in every way

For me, I really loved how X-MEN: Apocalypse built up its story and characters before giving us a ton of action. It never felt slow to me because it did all of that so well that by the time Apocalypse and the Four Horseman teamed up, I was fully invested in what was going to happen. From how the stakes continuously rise as Apocalypse moves forward with his plan, to the compelling and emotionally satisfying arcs many of the X-MEN characters go through, the incredible performances most of them give, the amazing visuals and action scenes that are some of my favorite in the X-MEN franchise, Apocalypse being such a threatening force to be reckoned with. I’d personally rank it super high in terms of X-MEN films, especially since I don’t think the old X-MEN films have aged particularly well.

Where has this channel been all this time? so glad you enjoy the "fox-men" movies even though they don't hold a candle to the X-Men characters, visuals and storylines from the cartoons, games and especially the comics upon which they are based on, a few like Logan, Deadpool and DoFP are quite decent and I cherish the last stand for being the earliest superhero movie I can remember watching as a kid. Can't wait to see the channel grow exponentially. Lord of the rings, Star wars, Avatar the last Airbender, Stranger things and House of the Dragon are usually the go to shows for rapid channel growth, but it's always nice to see a new MCU and X-Men fan, hope you haven't seen Avatar:tLA and will soon react to it.

With each xmen reaction from multiple reactors i find different things i like and dislike more than i did before. I used to be totally indifferent to this movie when I first saw it in theaters. Even disliked it a little bit. Upon seeing some KZbinrs reacting to it, I found more aspects i enjoy about the movie. E.g. quicksilver, some humor was quite on point, acting from mcavoy and fassbender were great. With this reaction I realized how much this film dragged in the first two acts, with neverending set up, and a final act that also dragged with its continuous action.
