I-dle are on another level. Incredible writers, producers and so much more. They now have full creative control of their music, though Soyeon has been writing their title tracks and the majority of the rest of their songs since debut. If you want a song that includes "diamonds" in the lyrics, the choreography practice for their b-side "My bag" currently has 97m views and is insanely good. If you watch their Killing Voice, you will almost certainly have a copywrite claim on one song, "Pop/stars", as it is owned by Riot Games (it's for League of Legends). You might want to save that part for patreon only. I don't think I could recommend just one song - they are that good. They do not stick to any sound or genre, so expect to be surprised. I would also add that if you only listen to their title tracks, you are really missing out.

Wow! I love that they have so much creative control and that Soyeon has been able to write a lot of their music! @StageAndSoundSpectacle honestly, it is more common for guy groups to be allowed to write and produce - there is still a lot of misogyny in kpop. 3 of them now both write and produce (Soyeon, Minnie and Yuqi,) and Miyeon wrote her first lyrics for the group on the latest album. They have had to fight for everything until this year when they were finally given their own team and no longer need to get approval. They have always been women that write songs for women, and I love them for it. They are so inspirational.

I absolutely love (G)I-dle. I've seen them in concert and they were phenomenal. Really enjoyed your reaction! There is also a behind the scenes recording of this song, you can see Soyeon's genuis at work. Highly recommend! Side note: I would love for you to check out Dreamcatcher. The Dark Angels of K-pop. They are also grown women and have a rock/metal sound to their title tracks. Most start with "Scream" or theor latest comeback "OOTD" but whatever you choose will certainly blow you away. ❤❤

Welcome to the world of our self-producing queens! I-DLE is just iconic. They debuted in 2018 and is now one of the “older” groups around. But they just keep slaying year after year. Love them. For a start, I would recommend songs of women empowerment: “Lion”, “Tomboy”, “Nxde”, “Allergy” & “Queencard”.

You should watch their relatively recent "Killing Voice" performance for a quick overview of their talents, discography, and how much fun they are. =) It'll give you a couple songs that capture your attention, for now. My fave guide is "The Rise of I-DLE", by lovinsoojin, though it's rather long and more like a documentary (though fan-made), and only runs to the start of the Pandemic.

You should definitely react to more! As some other people said Soyeon produced and wrote 90% of their songs and that is one of the reasons that all of their parts sound like they were made for them, she knows her members strengths and uses them, for example Yuqi (black and white hair) has a deep voice wich Soyeon uses to make the pre chorus sound stronger, Minnie (braids)- has a unique mysterious sound wich can be heard when she sings uh-oh so soyeon adds that to their song to let Minnies voice pop, Shuhua has a unique way of singing la-la-la so in almost all pf their songs when there is a la-la-la sound she is the one to sing it. And so on and so forth. Definitely recommend their killing voice sl you can understand their voices better:)

What i can say is...i watch their journey from latata 1st album from main song to b side..until now.is really good. My most love is mma2018 perfomance,queendom show Put it straight nightmare version.but halloween version is exceptionally good too.just check them out slowly...they will grow on you.just pick you most loved thats all

A distinction between (G)I-dle and most other groups is that they are entirely self-produced. They write and compose their own songs, manage the full production, develop the concepts for their music videos. They effectively make every decision for their group - in particular their leader, Soyeon, who wrote this song and opened it with the high notes (despite being Main Rapper and one of the top rappers in South Korea).

Soyeon is the only female idol in Kpop History to win both Songwriter and Producer Award. As of Today, Gidle became the first Girl Group in Kpop to have a Perfect All Kill (PAK) which means no. 1 in all Charts in Korean Music Industry with 4 different album or 4 comeback.

may i just correct u, they are the first female idol girl group to have a PAK for for 4 CONSECUTIVE (in a row) comebacks [with one of the songs being a b-side that is not a pre-release (pre-release's are b-side's released before the release of full albums) and that makes them the first group to have a PAK with a b-side], and second group overall (big bang is the first) which is HUGE and even more important than only having 4 PAKs with different comebacks/albums and a lot of groups already achieved that (but that is still a lot cause most groups only have 4 or less PAK's!!) :D

also an adittional info a song can get multiple PAK's (cause they are gained by how long the song stays on the chart) and (g)i-dle just achieved their two hundred in total! fate I think has 16 PAK's now or something like that and out of all of their songs the one with the most PAK's is TOMBOY which has like 167 of them or something and the song that has the most PAK's in kpop is I think 'ditto' by newjeans and they have around 500 if I remember correctly :>

@@blankdextr dude alot of groups don't achieve it. Gidle, Twice and Ive are the only Girl Group that can get 4 PAK. Gidle are the first to get a PAK with 4 different album. Ive got it bit Kitsch was on the same album with I Am. Even BlackPink has only 3 PAK. New Jeans have 2 PAK. The ones above Gidle, Twice and Ive for female is only IU. But its unreachable since IU have around 22 PAK. The most in Kpop.

YES. Soyeon (scorpion lady) said Beyonce inspired her for this comeback. They went to her Renaissance tour in ATL as well. Miyeon (the one you said sings like Rosé) is a big Beyoncé fan and dubbed as Miyeoncé sometimes for the memes

1:59 Soyeon (the leader, producer, writer, Conceptualizer, and rapper of the group) said that she went to Beyonce's Renaissance tour and was heavily inspired by it. She also said the budget was more than 800k usd and the members had to pay half of that because their company is shitty and cheap as hell. They're areguebly in the top 3 biggest kpop girl groups rn and continuously grow every comeback. Their themes tend to focus on female empowerment. Soyeon writes and produces most of their songs, and the ones that aren't made by her are made by the other members. They also debuted in May of 2018 and Soyeon write that too. @@kiryukaimemorial127 first of all, Cube is still one of the biggest companies in South Korea. Gidle alone brings in millions of dollars per year for them, and the girls get a very small cut of that. Cube is KNOWN to be one of the worst companies when it comes to promotions, management, etc. Soyeon is the sole reason why Gidle is so big. So no, I will not listen to you when you clearly don't know how horrible of a company Cube Entertainment is. Edit: Also, Cube can MOST DEFINITELY pay 800k easily. They're still in the top 6 biggest Kpop companies.

Because while Cube may not be a "Big 3" company, they're definitely not small or unknown, especially now with the amount of money Idle has brought them. Not to mention, they're NOTORIOUS for mismanaging their artists. From 4Minute to CLC to Lightsum, from Beast to BTOB to Pentagon, generation after generation they've fucked over their idols which is why, apart from Lightsum, these idols are no longer in the company. Only reason Idle has been able to escape this mismanagement (tho not completely) is because of Soyeon, who has managed to curate her own team under the company without the higher ups getting too involved. All Cube [as their company] needed to do was provide the budget, yet they couldn't even do that.

gidle are self-produced GG, yes But what even more amazing are their music genre variety, they almost never do same genre twice. And all of that different kind if music are from same person the group leader Soyeon. I start listening Kpop from 2nd generation such as 2ne1 kara 4 minutes big bang etc, and I never ever see any group did what they did, they are extremely unique, and i am not sure will that any group able to do the same things in thw future TBH.

There are so many guides for these girls. There is one that's essentially a video essay, fully narrated but it's like an hour and a half. I would suggest watching it even if you don't do a reaction to it because it's so well made and gives you context of the girls before they were even idols. Thanks for the reactions! They are born between 1997-2000. I-DLE are unique in Kpop especially among girl groups. 3 (Soyeon, Minnie, Yuqi) of the 5 members produce all their music, and those 3 along with Miyeon also write their lyrics. Soyeon has been producing & writing their title tracks since debut. They come up with their own concepts. Communicate their ideas with the MV directors. This is why all their songs feel more real, personal, authentic and have layered meanings. Also sometimes there's a lot of symbolism in their songs and MVs. Always checkout the English translationa of all their songs whether title tracks or b sides to get a better understanding of the what they were feeling when writing the songs. To top it off, their their performances are a class apart! In MVs, choreography videos, live stages, concerts - they go for relatively less complex choreography so that they can sing live well, but we forget that as their beautiful voice, and killer body language, facial expressions, stage presence takes over! Best example is the Put It Straight (Nightmare Version) stage on Queendom. As a performer yourself, you're in for a treat! Also checkout their song recording videos, and other videos and interviews, radio shows etc where Soyeon and the others explain their production and songwriting process, concepts for their albums, meaning of individual songs etc. They are like true artists!

Not you catching on the similarities between Miyeon and Rosé this early on. They trained together at YG for years. So they were taught how to sing by the same people and that's why they share similar techniques.

Actually while we're talking about black pink comparisons. The prechorus actually does remind me of blackpink, but not that song. It's actually Whistle! Both songs have a three note "whoa oh oh" the sounds almost exactly the same in the prechorus. Compare 1:24 of Whistle M/V to 0:43 of Super Lady.

I think you found the right group......Soyeon (the girl on the Scorpion) is the Leader-Producer-Writer and arguably one of the best Rappers in K-pop (men or woman). My Ult bias in K-pop is Yuqi (Cruella De Vil)....She's got a husky deep voice that is just the best. She's from China and is fluent in Korean and English. She does a few covers of songs (Flowers, Beggin' and a few others) She's got a debut solo album coming out in April..Miyeon (the one you said sounded like Rose) is the Main vocal of the group...I've often said the same thing about her. Her solo work is really really good, but she's the princess of the group. Minnie, (Medusa lady). She's got such a beautiful Sultry tone to her Voice...She's from Thailand and is friends with Lisa. Shuhua (The Lady with the shotgun) she's the Maknae. When this group started she didn't know the language very well (from Taiwan) and had few lines, but she's blossomed into such a powerful part of the team. There was another member, Soojin, who is no longer part of the group, she was dismissed from the group by CUBE Ent. due to a Bullying controversy in her school days. It turned out to be a false accusation, but she's still not part of the team.
