There is very little difference between S90V and S110V. Both take sometime to sharpen. Fantastic edge retention but it can chip

I found 110 to be a lot chippier and a lot a lot harder to sharpen. In general I don't think it makes a great fixed blade but for something like this which is a small in Pocket carry I think it works great. But I also need to carry it more.

I really like the shape of that knife, looks like it would be comfortable/agile to use. How rough is that coating? I usually avoid coated blades, not a fan of the drag when cutting and they get scuffed off eventually anyhow. I love Esee knives but I hate their coating with a fiery passion since it's sandpaper rough, first thing I do is strip it off and put on a vinegar patina. Homemade beeswax and mineral oil blade butter has always worked for corrosion protection for me over coatings for my non-stainless blades. One blade coating that I'm eager to try out is on a Tkell blade, they have a nickel boron coating that's supposed to be slicker than teflon but 80hrc. Have a few of his blades on order, should get them soon. I do agree on the pocket carry for smaller fixies. The Mako with it's pocket sheath ruined me on that, it's my preferred way to carry them now.

Thank you for your comment. It's actually the smoothest coating I've ever gotten. Or close to it. It's not polished but it is very smooth. It doesn't catch on material or anything.

I don’t have any pocket carry fixed blades. I actually never thought about it before. I have several neck knives that are very handy for my volunteer work at a food pantry. I’m having a hard time picturing a pocket carry. You just slip the whole thing in your pocket? What holds the sheath in place when you remove the knife? I’ve only been collecting knives for a few years and a fixed blade pocket carry has never popped up on my radar, but I find it very intriguing. I am curious to see how the ceracoat looks after a few weeks of daily use. Thanks for what you do.

@@nukebert1 Look up Creely Blades and check out his Mako. It's an amazing blade that changed my idea about how to edc a fixed blade. It's a weird looking little blade that is the most comfortable knife that I've used since I earned my first cub scout folder back in 1971. I've carried the magnacut version for 18 months now on a small ranch. It gets daily use for all the ranch chores that you can think up, feed bags, card board, trimming leather, pvc, etc. I immediately ordered a kydex sheath for appendix/scout carry, one of the better positions for a small fixie. But after a few weeks I gave the leather pocket sheath a try and have been carrying it that way for 17 months. It is so convenient and comfortable that I'm looking to get similar sheathes made for some of my other small fixed blades. After more than 50 years of carrying blades that little sheath changed the way that I carry my utility blades. Still carry self defense blades in appendix and scout though, easier to access if you're sitting in a car/truck.

LOL what tell you start using the knife in other grips. The only problem I had with in pocket carry is I had a hard time getting the Knife back into the sheath while still in pocket. I just have a hard tim hitting such a narrow hole. LOL Mine lives around my neck.

That daily carry has always been the best looking little fixed blade you got to me. But this gives it a bit of a run for its money. I like the colors of the daily carry though. That ulti clip is going to set it off way better. The ulti clip was a game changer for little fixed blades for front pocket carry. Kinda reinvented the fixed blade sales. I’m so glad that you are excited about it and liking it so much. Looks like I’m going to have to save some money hehe. Thank you so much for doing this for me. I really wanted your opinion before I got one.

Don't think I could buy a fixed blade in s90v, how did it hold up? You didn't try batoning did you?

No not at all. I have lots of fixed blades in a lot of different steel for Bushcraft and fire making. But this little guy is for working in the garden or in the woodworking shop. So far it's holding up great. But I'd never baton with it lol. I'll use an LT Wright or BRK for that.

@@sharpends4279 Absolutely, tougher knives for jobs like that. It strikes me as a fixed blade that you use for easier folding blade work. I quit using my benchmade osborne in s90v because the edge disintegrated too quickly at work. S35vn held up better but I ended up carrying cruwear, magnacut and m4. K390 is cool too but starting to get more delicate. I cut pretty abrasive materials at work that are often covered in dirt, to explain why I've gone this route over time. Planed a plywood temp door to fit better earlier today. Getting a toor jank shank s to see how that holds up to my bs, I do still need a good fixed blade.

@@deadvikingtrolls I have a Creely Mako in magnacut, LT Wright Daily Carry in AEB-L, Bark River Micro Canadian in 3V and taskmaster in Magnacut that I in Pocket carry as well. I like having a small fixed blade in the shop. I was curious about 90v. (I also really like s45vn) It's one of my favorite folding knife steals. I'll test the out a lot and do a full review in about a month. Thanks for the comments!!!

@@sharpends4279 I used to be interested in aeb-l, it's uncommon and I never got around to trying it. There was a large viking knife half an inch thick I have to try finding again.
