FIRST VISIT! Helvetic Airways Embraer E190-E2 Take-Off at Bern

Premiere at Bern Airport: Brand new Helvetic Airways Embraer E190-E2 HB-AZB is seen taking-off at Bern for the 1st time. The holiday flight to Rhodes was operated on behalf of flyBAIR.
The E190-E2 burns 10% less fuel per flight, emits 30% less CO2 per passenger, and is thanks to its geared turbofan Pratt & Whitney engines substantially (48%) quieter than the predecessor E190 aircraft it replaces in Helvetic’s fleet. What an amazing aircraft. Congratulations Helvetic Airways!

Yesterday I was a passenger on the E190-E2 of Helvetic, travelling from Zurich to Amsterdam. Stepped out of the aircraft with pain in my neck, as all of the, beautifully large, windows are misaligned, at least in the front part of the cabin. So not a fan of this aircraft. Give me an E145 or any other aircraft with well positioned windows any time instead of this annoying experience.

Our limited experience of the E-jet is uniformly good, but we haven’t flown an E2 yet. The only GTF type we’ve used was the A220-100. Noisy cabin ventilation, and the pressurisation failed on the return flight, which was abandoned soon after take-off. Swiss took us home hours later to the wrong airport, and defaulted on the compensation payment. But despite all that, I like the growl as the GTF spools up: we hear it from A220s on finals to our nearby airport.

I'm glad this plane doesn't have winglets; otherwise, I don't know how I could tell it from the A220.
