I love the idea of the mobile washing station. I'd get the Costco (or other) hand truck, Affix the reel and pw to the base (marine plywood/Milwaukee top, ect) so all your water is on the bottom. Then the larger Milwaukee cabinet that opens from the front, atop that the 2 or 3 drawer box, then on the top a place for all the spray bottles and foam cannon (maybe thick drawer foam with circle cutouts that won't melt in the sun). The Milwaukee hand truck with bottom drawer is great but to have access to that crate you have to take everything off the top. Thanks for all you do! Royal

These are great ideas. I’m going to try an all in one tool box style, but it’s probably not going to work. Going to try anyways. Problem with mounting reel on top is you have no access to the pressure washer hidden inside to turn on and off. If it was mine I would wire the on/off switch to the toolbox, but too much of a liability for a giveaway.

I like to do a pre-foam treatment on my car first and then do a foam contact wash 🧼 I like to do a two bucket but with a twist! I have a soap bucket and just one with clean water 💦 with multiple mitts where after I use one I just put it in the clean water 💦 bucket to wash for later! I try and use one mitt per panel and only use it once per wash! I normally use 8-10 wash mitts

I like the idea of this portable wash cart, I have limited room but this looks like a decent option. I'm not at the ceramic coating level yet, but I do think it's cool to see it installed as I watched that video. I did wash my sisters cars over the weekend and they maintain their cars less than I do mine. I saw your decon and polish video. I may go that route as being in this area it needs it for sure. Nice video as always. Not gonna lie, was looking forward to the bloopers but always nice to give input about a giveaway. We appreciate you Keav.

Packout boxes can be expensive and when discounted it's in bundles, maybe something like Ridgid could be a better choice. I have also been thinking about a portable solution but using a hand truck instead; there are $80 ones from Costco and Milwaukee, although there is a more expensive Milwaukee Packout utility cart which would make it easier to add to it.

Something I’ve not found a straight answer for…when using any sort of ceramic based product like Ceramic Gloss as a drying aid, does that trash your towel? Does it need to be tossed out like coating towels are?
@CarsWithKeav Жыл бұрын
As long as when you are done you soak it in some soap water and let the surfactants break down what is on the towel. DIY Detail Rinseless wash and incredible suds both are great for this. I just use the bucket I was using to wash the car. Then put in the washing machine. I know when using as a drying aid you hate to discard good drying towels.

I bought a truck a couple of weeks ago it was ceramic coated at the Ford dealership my first wash I thought I had the truck cleaned and dried now I have embedded dirt how can I get this off I washed it with Jay Leno ceramic shampoo
@CarsWithKeav4 ай бұрын
Do you know if that dirt was there when you bought it? They could have installed the ceramic coating over the dirt. Also a possibility the ceramic shampoo you use coated over the dirt that didn’t get off the surface. I have had that happen to me before using a spray and rinse sealant, didn’t wash the best I guess and I basically had protected dirt. Best thing to do is do not using any type of protectant when washing and over time the ceramic shampoo will wear off. APC cleaners can wear it down sooner. If it’s the ceramic from the dealer and it’s a true ceramic then it will require a polish to remove.

@CarsWithKeav Жыл бұрын
If it’s just dust the a quick detailer or waterless. That gives you some lubrication to prevent scratching. Dusters even though very soft they are abrasive because dry contact causes friction.

so what's the purpose of applying a topper to a car that has been newly ceramic coated? how do you know what fails when it's no longer beading? I think topping it after several months would be okay after you apply an acidic wash etc.. but not when you just coated it... do tell
@CarsWithKeavАй бұрын
I mean really it’s not needed and I don’t use them anymore. Let the coating do the work if it loses hydrophobics after a few months then a decon wash will bring it back. If not then that coating is no good. Most like toppers just to have extra protection against that large investment of time and money, but also ceramic coatings do have issues with water spotting and toppers will help some with that.

I actually had great success with them first Easy Coat then Quick beads as my previous wash process was a leaf blower so I never would touch after the contact wash. They helped get better beading and dry the surface easier. I have now shifted to rinseless wash as my contact and then dry, but I use no other protection as I prefer the ceramic coating to do it’s job and know if it’s failing or having issues. Constantly topping you could be masking a failure and not even know it. Main reason I stopped and if I need a drying aid I’m using C6 mist now just for the lubrication.
