The owner is very fortunate because if I’m not mistaken, that’s an R1. Haven’t seen an original R1 in a very long time. 👏🏻 Kudos to you guys for bringing this back to life. Even if the engine needs a rebuild, the authenticity of a very low mileage R1 can fetch some serious coin. I wouldn’t doubt it can sell between 50-70g’s US. Everything is there and it’s all original. 👍🏻

It's an R2. You can tell it is a 94 or 95 by the passenger side airbag, meaning it is an R2, not an R1.

@@tylervanpatten7699 even more rare are the Canadian R1’s. I think about 50 or 80 ever made it over here. Those are really rare. 😎 I’ve had my 94PEP for over 25yrs now. It stuns me to see such an original FD. Haven’t seen those wheels or that engine bay in a very long time. 😂👍🏻

My favorite Hot Wheel car growing up was a 1979 Mazda RX7, so this car is an awesome find! Actually the '79 is a similar body style to other older one in his garage. I hope we can see it detailed, too! I have no idea what it is worth, but given its low mileage and condition, I'd say at least $50-60k minimum. I was a teenager at that time in the 90's and modifying cars was THE thing to do to you vehicle, so finding this in stock condition, should greatly increase its value. Awesome car and video!

The owner isn’t lying. This car is bat out of hell scary fast. In 1992 I was looking at the 300zx, the Stealth, the 3000gt VR-4 and the Supra. The Supra had a high dealer mark up, so I never drove it. The Stealth R/T and the 3000gt all the electronics and repair costs worried me but I loved the rides. Now the RX-7 scared me. It was like a tight fitting (snug seats but I’m 6’3) go cart with a racing engine and it was only a Mazda Wankel turbo. With its light weight it felt so dangerously fast that I saw myself getting in trouble. It actually made me rethink everything and I got a Galant VR-4. I eventually in 1996 got the last 300zx but I never forgot how the RX-7 felt.

This one was very cool to watch. I just did a client's 1986 RX7 convertible. It was in phenominal shape but needed a deep detail. I did damn near the same as you guys so the owner can list it on Bring A Trailer. It was such a fun detail, finally having the opportunity to have an owner say "I want everything, and I mean EVERYTHING detailed!" Fantastic work fellas!

Great detail, really enjoyed watching! My question is was the car running? I mean sitting for over two decades there is no way she would run without some work. Also, it would probably have leaks when it dors run as seals dry up over time. Tires would probably be checked and have cracks. If I was going to put a value to a car like that I would have alot of questions about the mechanical condition.
