Thanks for the shout out! Love that Altar record on the shelf. I wish I had a copy of that Obsessed by Cruelty. Tormentor is killer I just don't have a copy. Torr is Killer as well, looking for those 2 bands for a while now. Bathory is like the band Death as Venom is to the band Possessed as creators of the death metal and black metal genre respectively. BULLDOZER! the best! I will check out the others you showed, I don't those but look interesting. Sepultura! and Mercyful Fate!!! Great video, and yes I did enjoy this video very much. Thank you!

Jarritos, traditional Mexican soda. Cool video man! You have to get some original Black Mark/Tyfoon Bathory albums!

Hey Tom, great response to Steve's video!! He's a great guy, fantastic bass player. I think I said it on Steve's video, the majority of the first wave of Black Metal isn't very Black Metal sounding. It has a big influence on the genre, there's a lot of traits like you said (raspy vocals, fast speedy riffing, evil satanic shit etc). But for me it should be known as proto-Black Metal. Really cool to see Slayer, Venom, Destruction, Bathory, Kreator, Sodom, Sepultura and Sarcofogo. Awesome video man 😊😊🤘🏻🤘🏻

Hi Thomas!! cool stuff and nice to see more southamerican talent in here....it's hard to define some of those early records in which category they fit, looking back almost forty years, but have to agree you can see the root of the genre in a lot of those bands like Sepultura, Venom, Sarcofago the german bands too. cheers and be well

I’d say you hit the nail on the head when you talked about the ‘EVIL’ in their sound… that was the basis for it all… it’s definition! Always good to see you & your beautiful collection Thomas!!🤘🏻

Your collection is proper quality always good to see what you're showing! I've never deep dived into the 1st wave of black metal so a few new ones in this lot to me. Sarcofago albums no matter what format or issue seem very scarce outside of America. That guava drink sounds a bit tasty 🍻🤘🏻

Cheers Thomas from California...I only really like the 1st wave to be honest. I was around 15 when Extreme Metal (Black,Thrash etc etc)came out so I'm really effin biased. Big ups for a great video

Watching the video...I was soo bummed I lost ALOT of 1st pressings of the bands you mentioned in the divorce lol!!! All hail VENOM,BATHORY,MERCYFUL FATE, SLAYER,CELTIC FROST and all the bands that laid the foundation for the Kvlt bands

Great response there Thomas. Venom and Bathory have to be included in this imo. While I wouldn't consider the thrash albums BM, I can see how they would have a direct influence on the style.

The early German stuff was definitely an influence. Black metal or not, I love it all! Haha. Cheers!

Hey, wait, this ain´t Black Metal! Black Metal has to have keyboards, female singers and frilly shirts. Where are the photoshopped covers, where´s the makeup? No bombastic, overproduced sounds? All real Black Metal started after the year 2005! Greetings from Columbia Jürgen (äh, sorry.... Albert!!!)
