Nice looking set up But I must tell you trouble is out there waiting for you Don’t get shut down by the DOT for log book violations They can become very expensive Your truck does not have a legal sleeper So if you log off duty for your brakes that’s fine but you can not log sleeper time because you don’t have one You must therefore have a motel receipt for those times an days in question Ware you are traveling away from home Not all DOT official’s look at log books but the one who does And finds a violation Can then look backwards in your own book and site you for every single violation you have documented Placing you out of service So start asking questions and get your ducks in a row Over 30 years over the road As a driver and owner

This is a well thought out comment and we greatly appreciate it! But as per Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Regulations 49 CFR §393.76. We are compliant. 49 CFR §393.76 goes as follows 1. Be a minimum of 75 inches long. 2. Be a minimum of 24 inches wide. 3. Be at least 24 inches from the top of the mattress to the ceiling. 4. Have easy access to and from the drivers compartment. 5. Be compartmentalized away from the freight area. 6. Be generally rectangular in shape. 7. Be adequately equipped for sleeping (mattress, blankets, pillows etc.) 8. Be isolated from exhaust fumes and adequately ventilated. 9. Sleeper berth must be equipped with a means of preventing ejection of the occupant of the sleeper berth during deceleration of the vehicle. Because we have a mattress in the back we do in fact meet all of these requirements as stated by the FMCSA. Also we actually exceed all of the dimensions listed above by 2 feet or more in all directions.

Brother! I love your set up. Only thing I would change is going with a Diamond C step deck. I'm with you; I don't understand why more Hot shotters don't use this setup. I know they say, just get a normal semi. But what appeals to me is staying under the 40k range weight wise, still be marketable, everything is easy to get to on the truck, low to the ground, ect. Also love the air ride and interior with fold down bed on these trucks. that truck is much easier to get into smaller spaces. I have followed Vandy for a while as well and that's what inspired me to seek one of these trucks. Might get a Buckeye Ultra max hauler for my truck or the Diamond C step deck, still haven't made up my mind. Start CDL school this coming Monday. I love your attitude and your calmness and collectedness! You will go far! Positive vibes your way my man! For your truck name, Maximus!

Get that oil out your hubs and convert to grease. I change over myself in fear of the oil leaking and causing a fire 🔥. When driving and your seals blows, by the time you notice it's prolly to late to save the bearings or even your whole wheel. Grease can leak and last longer before major damage can occur. If you must keep oil,. Use Lucas oil big truck oil. It seals the seals and runs cooler. My hub tells stay around 85 to 125 with grease. 2 spare tires are 1 and 1 spare tires is basically none. ✌️

These trucks are considered a luxury hauler type truck with A LOT of upscale interior features and finishes. The M2 can be had as a “work truck” interior or even an expedite set up/box truck. This is EXACTLY what I wanted as I do use this truck to pull our toyhauler as well. I did not want to be in the RV resorts with a class 8/work truck. All that said, these trucks go for around $165k new. As a side note they DO hold their resale valve VERY well. I am considering the same set up you spoke of as a second rig. I told officer I am not using cdl a licensing doing hotshot and I shouldn't be subject to fsmc rules. Officer said its doesnt matter if you are cdl company driver or not, your cdl license is subject under fmsc rules. I was running empty flat bed less than 26000 lbs. My question how do run hotshot without subject to fsmc and not use my cdl so I dont have time constraints or elog as hotshot.
@adventuresintrucking19952 жыл бұрын
If you are using your cdl to haul personal equipment around and your GCWR is 26,001 you need CDL to operate that setup. If you are not getting paid but your setup requires CDL i would recommend putting “Not for Hire” on your vehicle. Now if you are saying hotshot, then I assume you were for hire and getting paid to move freight. And in that case yes you are subject to FMCSA rules even without a CDL if you are for hire you are subject to FMCSA rules hotshot or semi. Once you start getting paid to move commercially you are subject to FMCSA.

Too much weight
@adventuresintrucking19952 жыл бұрын
It's not too much weight. Trailer is rated for 30k and weighs 6800lbs empty so thats 26800 in gross weight and technically this load weighed only 19,120. So its within the operating ranges of the trailer. Truck is also a Class 7 truck that has been derated to class 5. 36,300 GVWR down to 19,500. (which is really just them changing the sticker in the door lmao)
