@@defqqq Yes. But what those You Tubers ignore is that when the "famous old master photographers" used Leica, there were not as many high-quality alternatives as there are now. Many of those photographers used other cameras too - Exakta, Rolleiflex, Contax, Speed Graphic, etc. Those photographers did not become "famous old master photographers" because of the cameras they used. It was because of their vision and technique. Well-done presentation, with wonderful images! I added the Leica M system in 2018, following a brief financial windfall, buying a new Leica M10, which may remain the only Leica camera I will ever be able to afford to buy new. It is good to see yet another professional photographer giving a positive assessment of the Voigtlander 50mm APO Lanthar, which appears to punch well above its price point. I have been more interested in 50mm lenses with “character,” but if I ever need to acquire a superbly-optically-corrected 50mm lens, this Voigtlander option is the leading contender.

@4:38 - It's been shown that there is no DR advantage in using the lower res modes of the M11, contrary to Leica's own marketing materials. The default 61 MP mode always provides higher DR and high-ISO performance 100% of the time, in all situations. This seems to be a slightly misguided early marketing misstep from Leica. This is from the Red Dot Forum team and their independent testing, as well as photographers they work with, now that the M11 has been out for a while. So don't sweat it, you were using the right mode for maximum optical performance. Cheers!

I love those photos! The light there is magical, as is the architecture. I have the M11 as well. I suspect your finicky charging experience was due to the cable. One reason for the high cost of some Leica batteries (SL and Q series as well as the M11) is that they are and have to be bespoke because they act as part of the weather sealed bottom plates. As for dual card slots, I doubt there is room for a second slot. If you look at an exploded diagram, you’ll notice that compact body is absolutely crammed full of electronics and the rangefinder.

Lovely pics. New to your channel - learnt a lot already. Am on my first two weeks of an M11 journey so can relate. I can see the draw, and as with so many highly marketed expensive products there's a lot of confirmation bias etc along with a feeling you should like it as it's 'got heritage'. There are definitely some things to like - the RAW files are really good, it's compact, and the physical build quality is good - it also supports skilled workers making things by hand. But the ergonomics are poor from grip to viewfinder, the software/firmware unforgivably slow and flakey (which is dire regardless of the cost), and it's just so overpriced and expensive that it's silly - I already feel like I wouldn't take it everywhere I usually do. It takes as good a photo as I need at my level, but do I actually genuinely like it? I really can't decide but let's be honest if it didn't have a Leica badge the answer would almost certainly be no.
@jambob169 Жыл бұрын
On Fuji - If you save RAW to one card and JPG to the other, it will only delete from the card you have selected in review mode. So if you select to review on the JPG card, if someone asks you to delete a photo they can watch you select it, hit delete and OK etc, but you'll still have the RAW on the other card.
