The last film my mom took my grandmother to see before she passed was The First Wives Club & they apparently danced out of the theater together. So this movie has always had a special place in my family's catalogue of movie references.😊

I think Avril's misremembering of the ending at 20:00 was her thinking of "She-Devil", where that character does kind of create an agency to help women burned by their husbands.

Sarah Jessica Parker's apartment was hilarious. It was showing what her character THOUGHT was chic and elegant and expensive. I thought from Avaryl's expression on the thumbnail was that she was gonna "hate" the movie! Wheww, close call! 😁

I freaking love this movie so much. It’s one of three movies my mom and I watch together all the time. The best memories are at the end of the film when my mom and I would sing “You Don’t Own Me” together with the characters.

As a young teenager i was obsessed with Roseanne and loved the movie shedevil which is also a revenge comedy about a scorned wife. When The First Wives Club came out in Germany they renamed it ruffly translated as The Club of the Shedevils. I was so disappointed because it lacks the absurdity of the "original"😂. And also Meryl Streep

I went to see this in theatres with my mom. I remember how much we laughed when they escape the condo through the suspended scaffold and it drops. Comedic gold!

I wanted the dramatic movie the Stockard Channing character should have starred in. It feels like a huge flaw for a so called "women's movie" to have an ambitious and successful woman give up on life because her husband left.

Every time the pointing and plan holding 'Sisters are doin it' clip came on I'd focus on Diane who looks like she's struggling to not look at the camera and is moving like she doesn't know where she is and it makes me cackle every time.

The way eight year old me used to love this movie just so I could recreate the last 50 seconds in my living room. Core memory. Like Avaryl, I always misremember the plot but I feel like it gets less and less important each time I rewatch 'cause I'm really just waiting for the music number.
