I think the reason that Craig is able to see past Gloria and not view her as “competition” for Kamiyah’s affection is because he’s the father. There isn’t a father in the story still fighting to be in the picture. Shanara is the mother and Gloria was the mother so she has to still deal with that aspect. There is someone that did replace and she most likely feels like she is still being replaced by Gloria with Kamiyah being in contact for her. I feel bad for all of them.

This has been my thought since I heard about her biological mom being mad. I almost think Kamiyah was more open to the forming a relationship with her dad bc she’s never had one. It’s like being a fatherless daughter and then having a man roll up like a knight in shining armor to save you from the trauma of being fatherless. Unfortunately, she had the mom that stole her...so she didn’t need someone to fill in for her. This is a sad story all the way around.

I agree also I hope he can help Shanara it's my opinion that one day if Shanara completely forgives Gloria with everything then and only then she'll get her daughter back 100% because she'll see that it's pure then Kamyiah eyes will be open she's going to need Shanara more than ever then . I couldn't imagine that happening to me I've had some horrible things to happen to me in my life that I can't type it on here but with prayer I worked through forgiveness it wasn't easy my mom is my biggest enemy I thought that I was making other people pay ; but really I was only hurting myself . Shanara if you come across this I pray that one day you'll find it in your heart to forgive Gloria so you can get your baby girl back into your arms like the very first day you met her like Craig just said he's not going to let her win so please don't you ..

And miss me with that “well I said MOST”....well if you saw the direction in which their comment was going why say that then? Not trying to hear it. Hell ppl want to talk about **”black men” (**not saying all which of course I know not all, but using as a example how ppl quote and want to use all the time), but not the ppl who raise them. What about some of these bad black women (and of course not all are bad)? Who raising them their mom, their dad, their parent(s), or caregiver. Hell you got just as many bad black women as you do bad black men... but hey all black men and women ain’t bad are they? I personally don't think it's Shanara's job to personally forgive her child's kidnapper. Her anger towards Gloria is justified. However, I do think that if Shanara ever wants a functional relationship with Kamiyah, Shanara at least needs to accept the fact that it's not realistic to expect Kamiyah to share Shanara's hatred of the only woman who nurtured Kamiyah for 18 years. Kamiyah had siblings, stepsiblings, grandparents, and extended family through Gloria. It's impossible for her to forget the only village she's known and ALL of her life's history overnight, especially if it wasn't a traumatizing life. Shanara just needs to focus on building her own unique bond with Kamiyah that isn't contingent upon Kamiyah's feelings about Gloria...or else she risks losing her daughter a second time.

True, but daddy had to know what he was signing up for when he decided to go through the long application (interview?) process to be on the show. Come on now this is TV. reality TV. And he knew that. In the bigger scheme of things in reality, tv is a business first foremost. And for a show to stay on the air, there's gonna be some drama. And like you said, there's a lot they didn't show us. But then, since when has Hollyweird ever shown us everything? He knew that there was absolutely NO WAY that issue would've been solved in one hour, or even a part 2. I'm just saying I think that he's being a tad dishonest. They should've just all gotten therapy instead of being on TV. I'm just saying. And another thing. The biological parents don't seem to understand that yes, Kamiyah is their child, but that she is no longer A child, and that until she makes a different decision, she'll always love the kidnapper. She needs to separate from everybody just long enough to get the therapy she needs. She's never going to get it from her parents, because they still see her as a child and they're both projecting their fantasies of raising Kamiyah on her, which isn't fair to her. I know that they don't mean any harm and that they both love her, but that's now working for Kamiyah.

When the movie aired on Lifetime I found Craig's KZbin & he stands by his entire family & wife. I respect his point of view & authenticity. Kymiah definitely gets her spirit from her Father, happy go lucky. I saw that reaction situation with the Iyanla show as disturbing how she was trying to trigger her, I thought it was unfair & too soon. She got exactly what she asked for. She took her pain out on Iyanla, ppl talk about honoring elders, but the word also states not to provoke a child to anger.

Too many people are trying to convince this young lady to stop loving the woman she has known all her life as mama, her biological mother wants the daughter to hate Gloria as much as she does, this is not a simple walk in the park and let me cover you up with blankets and hold your hand kinda thing, this is a heart wrenching situation, and only God can fix it, because right now people are looking for the glory to say I fixed that family, I got them where they should be, kamiyah has a family established with Gloria, grandmother,aunts, cousins, brothers friend etc ... to erase Gloria she would have to erase everything and everyone she has ever known.this young lady loves these people, and right now the only person that seems to understand that is her father, no he didn't give the birth but it doesn't diminish the love he has for his child nor does it make his pain any less real, kamiyah was taken from the arms of her mother when she was 8hrs old, but she didn't return that way, her mother needs to find a way of loving the young woman that has returned she's not that baby anymore

Yes she did! She loved that women and she still do. I'm not condoning the women taking her but thank God she didnt abuse her or hurt her in any way. It could've turned out totally different if she had fell in the hands of an abuser.

Her appearance on the fix my life show let us know that Gloria did not raise her well even if she never physically abused her that child was psychologically abused and her lack of respect for elders is clearly how she was brought up. That child grew up but Gloria didn’t raise her she hindered her for life. She needs serious counseling she is suffering from Stockholm syndrome something serious.
@daniellewilliamson24574 жыл бұрын
@@shamiekabertram5222 I think she did a great job with her. I think the show was too soon. She had a lot of anger and rightfully so. She is still young and can't relate to the gravity of her situation she needs time and the real mother being so pushy and mean about things doesn't help. I understand her mothers anger but you have your child back celebrate that be glad you get to see her. Its time for healing and the kidnapper was wrong but she did provide a loving stable home and loved her. To lose everything is devastating and she is a young lady trying to figure her life out. The movie was based off of the childs point of view.

I agree however I understand she has every right to feel the way she feels but just because she was angry doesn't gave her right to be disrespectful either there should have been a better way to handle it...everyone has a story every has been pass but you have a choice to make with you can be a victim or victorious
@S3xiiRedd4 жыл бұрын
Lesha Blunt they tell us to respect our elders but you also shouldn’t provoke a child. That wound was still fresh... the wrapping her in a blanket to rebirth her was excessive. Also, we seen the edited version of the entire time they were there.
@treniesablunt4 жыл бұрын
True... but she knew for 2 years before this whole situation was made public so at some point in time she had time to think over and maybe process it....she may not have known what to do with the info but she still had time to at least think it through....I really think she was scared because everything she has known all her life is being taking away from her and it just comes off as angry so I get that...but to me she still has no excuse she could have taken a whole different approach that's all I'm saying
@tinaamariee8324 жыл бұрын
🙄how was Iyanla wrong for doing what they asked her to do? Everybody is familiar with Iyanla aggressive style of therapy. Maybe the birth parents should’ve taken more time to truly get to know her instead of trying to force her to detach from Gloria before taking her there.
