I would go back to school and talk about the routes he ran on Sunday. He's my 2nd favorite WR of all time, and in my opinion the greatest route runner of all time... Thanks for this video man

He's better than all the 2022 HoF semi finalists at WR! For some reason the HoF is voted on by people who don't play football, and they don't like that he had fun and celebrated when it wasn't legal. Bc he was a great teammate by all accounts and worked crazy hard. Sleeping at the stadium for 2 years, taking reps with the scout team to go against the ones, etc.
@kamka-ne29244 жыл бұрын
9:53 if ochocinco even miss times that cut by a second too late hes running into the DB. And if he cuts too early hes not going to allow time for the DB to react to the post and his cut would have been pointless. Timing is everything

Terry McLaurin was a polished route runner coming out of Ohio St.. Last year he saw every teams #1 corner and absolutely dominated as a rookie. His first step & precision cuts allow him to use his elite 4.3 speed in the most efficient way possible. His contested catch rate is also off the charts. Love this video, playing WR is far more about what you do before the ball is thrown. All too many times we get lost in size and speed at receiver, that couldn’t be farther from the truth!
@firstdowntraining4 жыл бұрын
Yessir 100% agree. Appreciate the comment
@coach0080 Жыл бұрын
If you watch his hands, he is "beating the drum" that's what's helping him get down and come to a stop. Then he's pivoting his hips and getting around
@stevengriffin53494 жыл бұрын
Chad genius of set up , and he baits DB to try get him to try jam ; that put out position to run or run with cut . Watch him turn his eyes , NOT snapping his head ( would blur vision ) impede ability to track the spin / trajectory of the 🏈

Hey like the video. Literally before this just got done watching Ocho vs Bailey, Revis, Hall, and Flowers. One of the beat receivers of all time and a really good route runner but don’t think you can call him a great one. Was literally just having this discussion at work the other day. First off his route running is predicated on speed which if you go watch all those matchups that I just said and even this video you can clearly see that. The last two routes, the corner and the out route, which is what they were, were the best routes. Wasn’t a post corner and definitely not a comeback route, it’s just the way he stemmed and set up. But when you watch him run routes his set ups, stemming, and moves aren’t predominantly like those. His main objective when running routes are to do them as fast/quick as possible, because he was fast. Even the out route seemed he was going more so go speed on it, just a great release. His feet and release are probably top 2 but the route running itself isn’t defined enough or exaggerated enough more about him getting a great release and being speedy to beat you to the points verses new school receivers were route running is the main thing like Odell, Jarvis, Keenan Allen, Julio, AB, Diggs, Emanuel sanders, etc. the separation they’re getting is mostly from the route running itself and not the speed of which they do it or the release even though it’s all tied into route running. Even Devonte Adams when you look at his routes he’s open 90% of the time off of his releases. Hopefully that’s another way of looking at it.
