Loved this sterling presentation. Would like to listen to Anirudh's singing as well - please post the full concert, if possible. Thank you :)

The composition Tanika Suna Ri in Bhatiyar in this video is a composition of Padmabhushan Acharya Ratanjankar(“SUJAN”) but the delivery of the bandish is not correct. Please refer to a recording of Either Pandit K.G.Ginde or Pandit Dinkar Kaikini for the correct execution of the composition.

Namaskara sir. Absolutely, there is an inaccuracy in my rendition of the bandish "Tanika Sunaree" in this video. I seem to have missed the word "kee" while singing it. This mistake aside, I now realise after you pointed it out, that the bandish is originally composed differently with an interesting interpretation of the Raag Bhatiyar after listening to other recordings of this particular bandish being sung. However, this is the way I had learnt this bandish. I have also heard Pt. Sangameshwar Gurav(who my Guru learnt from) sing it like this. Perhaps there was some modification to the original composition there. Thank you so much for pointing this out, I shall correct my learning of this bandish. As this was a new format where I was mainly expected to talk as well as illustrate some musical pieces, I was not completely at ease. Hence, I committed the formerly mentioned mistake while rendering the bandish. My apologies. Seeking your blessings.🙏🏻

I would like to point out that bandishes naturally take their course of development because of how many different artistes add in their subjective interpretations to it. It is unreal to expect what was originally created to be sung for eternity. Infact a vaggeyakara creates a bandish with such an intent that it can be given varyingly colored life by others. I think an accomplished artist like Aniruddh Aithal who has performed all over the country would be devotedly adhering to his parampara and wouldnt make such meagre mistakes and as a point to this, I would urge you to refer to Pandit Kaivalya Kumar's recording of the same bandish which has also been sung in the same way. On a side note, kudos to Aniruddh, Siddharth and team for bringing out such a wonderful programme.
