Abhishek Borkar: Raag Yaman

The young and gifted sarod player Abhishek Borkar from Pune was the featured opening artiste on Day 2 of the FEA-curated PAST/PRESENT Festival in Kolkata.
Debjit Patitundi gave Abhishek a superbly subtle, sensitive and attentive accompaniment on the tabla. Both artistes perfectly complimented each other and presented the attending audience with a very mature and fulfilling performance.

Debjit, you are a gifted tabla player. I understood this. But you did not display any sort of traditional Kaida or Rela or Chakradar in your one hour show though you have the capacity. I don't know the reason. However your drut theka mesmerised me. You have everything. Don't deceive the listeners. An accompanist distribute everything as a complete package. It's not criticism, it's my feelings. 👍
