What nonsense pop a pill and cut the weight. Some Western nonsense. Healthy food is conducive to good and prolonged health. I avoid junk food except in an emergency. Even homemade salads, lentils, or bread is better than junk food and protein shakes, pills, and what have you. If one can't basically cook, take a course in small but calorific meals i.e. a balance of all the food classes. The food triangle if I remember correctly.

Well first things first: As far as the well being of children is concerned what us more important is the management skills and the coordination between the parents. A lady might be a housewife and a terrible mother or a working lady and an excellent mother. It depends on her ability to impart important life lessons, values, and skills to her kids. Plus a working lady who is more up to date with the outside world has a better idea about the problems that her children might have to face. Moreover she understands how to get her children make the best use of the latest technology and the ancient values. As far as the time crunch is concerned, it's not the quantity but the quality that matters. It's better to have a mother who spends 2-3 hours with you discussing about your problems offering genuine solutions and trying to understand your feelings than to have a mother who shouts at the top of her lungs for 24 hours. Now the problem is men who want the women to dependent on her forever so that they can control every aspect of her life.
