Shame on Apple, still not getting rid of 128GB storage variant, even Samsung offers 256GB as the base variant in S24+ series. And not just that, other mid range smartphone brands are already offering 256GB as the base variant, and others are thinking of doing that, but it seems like Apple's R&D team and the top management didn't even consider of doing that. I am using iPhone 13 since 2 years, which was the last best iPhone series launched by Apple. I would now rather buy an iPhone 15 Plus (256GB) over a iPhone 16 (256GB) as it offers same features and the pricing as the new iPhone, without any camera button and AI thing (which is still pending to be launched), but has a bigger screen size.

My 600gb photos and videos are in icloud and only consumes less than 2gb in the phone...all apps etc are also back up every few minutes in icloud. If I lose my iPhone, I can easily replace it with exact lost phone including all arrangments and logged apps and saved passwords etc

Not just apple, for that matter smartphones have reached the peak of innovation and that's how product lifecycle has worked historically. They'd get only incremental updates with minor features which a normal user doesn't care much. Now, the companies are just trying to cash in using the remaining hype in the market. Something drastically different in this space would be required to be termed as innovation. People have gotten bored of looking at the same similarly shaped phones for more than a decade.

iphone user here and I am not trying to defend my choice of brand but just because something is innovative does not always mean it makes things convenient. I cannot tell you how many Samsung users I have come across with those flip phones and they regret making the purchase after a month mostly because the screen turned unresponsive or the screen was easily damaged (not sure why). Samsung or any other brand can come up with something like the Phone shouts at you to plug it in when it running low on battery inspite being on silent mode. Is it innovative? Yes it is . But does it make out lives easier? Do not think so. Apple may be lagging behind in terms of innovation but I can compromise on that as long as I am getting a better quality. The only issue I have with Apple is only launching particular features in the US first before it laying it out in the world yet, keeping prices still the same, in the US or outside of US.
