Kramnik said "childish one-move blunder" for Ding's rook f2 move. Like literally every chess enthusiast would know its a blunder and Ding is a human too. But his comment not only felt like demeaning to an existing WC title holder, it also felt like hes telling that Gukesh wasn't worthy, winning only because of a blunder and not due to his own abilities. Like come on man. Was gukesh supposed to see the blunder and say "oh nvm Ding ik u didn't make that blunder knowingly so i will not win from here .i will resign or offer a draw instead. U can keep ur WC"

I never liked olden days of chess. The players then never smiled and used to look intense even off the board. A laughter would be a crime then. They never enjoyed and just looking intense was all that was needed to differentiate a chess player from players of other sports. Its refreshing to see today's players show raw imotions and even break into a dance . Chess nowadays is more exciting than it ever was. Not to forget the internet which is taking the game to masses leading to spread of the game to more countries.

All the criticism this tournament is getting is from Russian players. Kramnik, Nepo and now Russian Chess Federation president. It seems like they aren't able to digest India replacing Russia as the Chess superpower. But still they are simply three individuals, they don't represent entire Russia, so let's not build animosity between two friendly nations just because of three individuals.

It is very shameful of Russia to cast aspersions and suggest that Ding Liren lost on purpose. But let's not forget that when Fischer took Spassky apart, some Russians accused him of having been bribed by Bobby Fischer. Perhaps these folks have something to tell us? (a) Did Karpov deliberately lose all those matches to Kasparov (including the one he drew 12 - 12)? (b) Did Kasparov deliberately lose to the gentleman who now accuses virtually everybody of cheating? (c) More recently, did Nepo deliberately lose to Ding Liren?

Kramnik failed to understand that chess is not only making the right moves but also the time factor. This creates tension. In every game the player who overcomes the tension will be the winner. A 18 year old boy held the world champion who is 12 years older to 11 draw. Can kramnik think of this.

The times have changed and nowadays a lot of things happen off the field which go into the making of a champion. Holding nerves and maintaining composure has become a requirement as much as the skills of the game. Constant pressure by gukesh and the effort of ding to play brave sacrificer and take it to the tiebreakers led him to msking the rook move. But while everyone is talking about this move , more important was his failing to notice that his bishop was in a stuck position. At some stage one party will make a wrong move or will fail to correctly read opposition's move and this will give the opposition victory. Gukesh plotted it and was rewarded in making ding commit two mistakes simultaneously one putting rook in that square and the other failing to free Bishop's movement s. As regards krammnik's comment i think the highlight is in his first two words "no comments".

Very unsportsmanlike for all these legendary players to try and take away Gukesh’s moment. Is it his fault that the ‘greatest of all time’ decided to not compete? Is it his fault that the reigning champion made a catastrophic blunder in the final game? He competed with what he had and against whoever was seated opposite him. And he won. It’s just that simple. He is the current world champion and the youngest to ever do so. The sport has to be bigger than any individual, past or present. Both Gukesh and Ding are exceptional role models for young people with their calm demeanours and respectful behaviour. The world of chess needs young champions like them.
