As an outsider I can just observer and share one thing. Bangladesh has lost 10-15% of business to China and India with No gain of anything. Maldives took the religious hard line and ended up approaching India for waiver, India had lost the trust by then and played China's game of getting them sign contract which India had never done in past. It's a lose lose situation for longer term for Bangladesh. Sri Lanka learned this, Maldives has started acknowledging this. Hope leadership calms down and looks holistically on this.

India believe in concept of adversaries and partnership , no enemies or friends, india currently has good working relationship with sri Lanka, nepal, bhutan, Myanmar, even with afghanistan.
