India Win Historic Double Team Gold at Chess Olympiad | Vantage with Palki Sharma
India rule the chess global order by winning two team and four individual gold medals. India gave one of the most dominant performances in the history of chess. For the first time ever, two Indians are in the top five chess live ratings. India is a chess superpower thanks to the "golden generation", the young crop. How are the young showing India’s chess prowess? Is India the reigning champion of chess?

Really splendid 👌and Great 👍for our Bharat Mata. Before this Historic Win in Chess(Shatranj,Chaturang). My view regarding my Nation India was that just like we are Geographically Surrounded by Seas on Two Sides and an Ocean on the Southern Side. There were only 3 C's for which we were most famous and well-known. They were Cinema, Cricket and Sadly Corruption. But now the 3rd C is Being Replaced by a Positive C i.e., Chess. From now onwards there will be no more looking back for our Nation Bharat We will show the World 🌎. What we can and will be Capable of in the near Future. Mark these words India will be a Developed Nation by 2030 and will be the Vishwa Guru and Vishwa Vijetha and Vishwa Vidhaatha. Jai Hind.

Those who haven't represented India in this Olympiad are awesome too with players like Nihal Sarin , Leon luke Mendonca from India are the prodigies to watch out for. 21/22 score by India is a chess olympiad history. Just to put that in context to non-chess followers we played 11 rounds of 2 points each on 4 boards so 44 matches with 1 loss at board , didnt lose a single round as a team won 10 drew 1. That's 97.72 win record at board and 100% as a Team unheard of in chess history. In Open section we had no doubt its one of the strongest team ever by any nation to play including US and Soviets of 1950s-1960s but in Women section our players brought the A game when it mattered the most in final round to get Gold with 19/22 score while kazakhstan women had a fair chance to win Gold but drew with US.

The commentator made an error in stating that the men's team won all of their matches. In reality, they had 10 wins and 1 draw. Not that it mattered, they were a full 4 match points ahead of the next team, which is a much more significant way to demonstrate their dominance. It is very sad that Kasparov is being put forward as a figure to admire and a standard to meet. In the 1995 Anand vs Kasparov world championship, Anand took the lead in game 9. In game 10, every time Kasparov made a move, he got up to go to the bathroom and slammed the door behind him so hard the room shook. The young and mild mannered Anand did not complain to the arbiter, who also did not act. Bullying destroys lives, and bullied children suffer lifelong low self esteem. Kasparov is no role model, and if he needs such tactics to win he is no champion. He needs to be made to confront his behavior and answer for it.
@vedantpatel_10
@vedantpatel_10 2 күн бұрын
Kasparov as a person has always been controversial to say the least, but no one can argue his prowess over the chess board. Having Kasparov as a standard to meet purely in chess terms is a very good goal to have

@whaddoiknow6519 2 күн бұрын
@@vedantpatel_10 I agree that the person and the achievements are not the same thing; many excellent physicists of the 1920's were nasty Nazi pieces of work. But Kasparov is still alive, and should not be allowed to escape the consequences of his behavior. We are now recognizing well past the year 2000 that bullying is out of bounds, and "boys will be boys" is not a valid excuse.

There was no separate *men's* competition. There was an *open* section, open to both men and women, and a women's section, closed to men. It is unfortunate that there were essentially no women good enough to compete in the open section, but maybe that will change in the future. But for that to happen, as Judith Polgar says, the best women will have to stop competing in women's only tourneys and compete in open tournaments.
