His talent as a player makes him an all time great, but his humble nature and leadership make him a once in a lifetime player and the ultimate fundamental piece of a dynasty. Truly have enjoyed watching this man’s greatness over the last 10 years. I know his game 4 will be the memorable performance, but I thought he was excellent tonight. 34-7-7-2 on efficient splits and really solid, disruptive defense on a night where nobody other than Draymond stepped up offensively.

Critics keep holding him to criteria they’re not applying to the others in the top 10, such as having great teammates. At this point, critics have their faves and I believe there will always be something they’ll use to knock Steph. Why do people forget that without KD the warriors took a healthy Cleveland to 7 games in the finals (with a suspension to Dramond and they were up 3-1)... you don't think if they run that back and Dramond isn't suspended they couldn't have won without KD? it was at least a 50/50 shot

To Twan's argument. Couldn't you argue that if you put ANY other max wing/pf in Golden State's lineup from 2016-2019 that they would have won those chips? I think this finals is a compelling argument for that. No one had Andrew Wiggins in the top 10 of wings in the NBA coming into this season (LeBron, KD, Kawhi, PG, Jimmy Butler, Jason Tatum, Demar Derozan, Kris Middleton, Jaylen Brown, Bradley Beal, Brandon Ingram, then finally you can discuss Wiggins. Using that as a premise, if you throw any of the aforementioned guys in their primes on the 2016 Warriors or a PF like Anthony Davis the Warriors probably three-peat. It was the fact that KD was a 4th all-star that made Golden State unbeatable--that all-star being KD was just icing on the cake.

Why is LeBron above Kobe, Duncan, Magic, Kareem? He won less times than all of those guys. Not even sure how is he above Shaq. And now that Curry has 4, why is LeBron over him as well? Sure it's very simple. Two different lists: 1 top 10 all time players. 1 Elite group of 7 who have achieved 4x NBA championships and 2x regular season MVPs Hes not a top 10 all time player - because Wilt who is not on the list is better and should at least have Stephs spot. Now a DIFFERENT CONVERSATION is there is the 7 players (the elite group of 7 that he speaks of) who have 4 NBA champion ships and 2 regular season MVP's. Steph curry is one of the SEVEN Players who have achieved that, and thus is in the "elite group of 7" with THIS particular achievement.

He led the league in scoring every year for the first half of his career until he was asked to score less. He leads the league in field goal percentage and rebounding almost every year for his entire career. Even then you still have to take it into account, and kobe still has more rings than Ober half of the players listed too. If I'm just being objective, then kobe has to be higher than 10th. There's no way around it if we just look at the stats, individual awards, and team success in their totality. If I'm being slightly subjective, then yeah I'd have him between 8 and 10 because theirs players in the top q0 I personally like a bit more than kobe, but I wouldn't be making an objectively honest list then

So you're gonna discredit two titles because of kd. Then let's discredit all 4 titles that LeBron has cause he didn't win a single one without help from another superstar, or two. Jordan also, Kobe also, pretty much all of them. You have Kareem winning 5 with Magic, and somehow both are at the top. Kobe won 3 with Shaq, and two with Pau. Shaq won one with Wade. So even by that what Shaq did was more impressive than what Kareem did. Since he had wade once, and Kobe 3 times. Wade isn't even on the list, Kobe is by default worse than Magic for some reason. You can say the same for Kobe. He had Shaq, who by default is worse than Kareem, and he won 3 times with him. Plus Kobe won 2 times without him, Magic didn't win a single time without Kareem. Kareem without Magic won 1 times without Magic. James makes a team and losses to Dalas. Then wins, then loses. So he clearly didn't even prove he was the best of his generation. There was no domination. He repeated once. Changed 3 teams, 4th won with shorter season when everyone was injured. Mike makes sense, and then you have Kobe, Tim, Curry, Shaq, Wilt, Bird, Magic, Kareem. In whichever order. And after all those guys you have James. Maybe he's above Bird but it's debatable.

We clearly have different standards for different eras. If a modern nba player losta bunch of nba finals game 7s the margin wouldn't matter. He would be a choker and unclutch and can't get the job done. Ranking a guy who ALMOST won over guys that did win is not intellectually honest. Curry finished the job and has every year when his team was whole. Only LeBron has had his teams fall apart in a manner that curry has in the finals and playoffs. Also Russell and wilt holding thier places indefinitely when they basically played a different sport is a another conversation.

The players you pick are not necessarily skill oriented but because of their size, they out beat the rest. Steph appeals and is skilled enough without needing size to be half the equation. He gives you a better game and entertainment and is just basically fun to watch. People love to watch his style of Basketball and I think he is definitely up there with the top 10. I think he has brought a lot to the game of basketball and the NBA should be indebted to him for just that reason. He is a person that has a great personality and is very down to earth. Adults and kids love him not just basketball fanatics. Because he isn’t 7ft tall he has to be outside the bounds of the greatest? Get with the times. Its all about skill today…..not just size.

Oh, he's definitely top 10 on a pound for pound view, or inch for inch comparison. Probably on an entertainment basis, and on a genius talent basis, as well. He's one of the legends, and for good reason. But not without those adjusting factors. Not on total career achievements. Start by considering he has just 2 MVP awards. Bird had three in a row, and finished 2nd place at least three other times. Then consider others had 4, 5, or 6 MVPs.

Yeah, your list is full of errors. Kareem 6 time mvp, most nba points, most nba rebounds, unblockable shot, 6 rings is top 3, Giannis has an organic ring worth far more than Kd’s 2 rings at warriors. Yeah but it wouldn’t have been that sure of a bet as it was with KD, that’s why I hated that they got KD, they already had an good enough team to run it back. Getting KD got him two rings but running it back would’ve done way more wonders to his legacy. Who knows if they would’ve won again tbh, but if he had those wins are mor evaluable than the ones with KD. It would have been our version of the Lakers vs Celtics but they ruined it with KD because it was a done deal and no competition
