I love this show. It's like The Bake-Off for me. I wait all week for it. Sean's questions are always spot on, he gets the best out of the guests without fail, the entertainment value of thsi show is off the scale. And now they've got two new sauces at #1 and #10. So, we did Season 20 line up and worked it into our DND game. Respect for Sean especially for doing this for 22 seasons. We bought the real Da Bomb and between that and the last one, it was pretty painful. We took full wings though. While it was fun, I would not repeat it for 22 times so seriously mad props to him for his interviews and for doing it this long for our enjoyment.

@@drinfernodds The way I'd describe it is that it has a "chemical" taste; VERY artificial. Apparently the company forgot they were making actual food. I think the name comes from back when Dave's Insanity Sauce was the hottest on the market, and they just wanted to be spicier without accounting for flavor.

My Love just bought me Da Bomb and The Alchemist Hopp Sauce for my Bday. I did a nice line up of assorted hot sauces and we dug in. Da Bomb is no joke. What if a guest is sober or secretly sober? How will the whiskey hot sauce be handled? Since the alcohol isn’t cooked off, will there be a replacement sauce?

Whiskey sauces are frequently simmered, so there's a good chance the alcohol has cooked off. There's probably not enough whiskey to matter either way, and they can't eat it in large quantities to get a meaningful amount of alcohol if it's not cooked. Probably talking 5-10% of the sauce, and they might eat a half ounce of sauce.

I'm on the fence about always having Da Bomb on the list. On the one hand, it's nice to have something consistent for each season, which let's us compare guest's reactions between seasons. It's fun that the guest is usually aware of this sauce, and that they're usually worried about it. It's almost always the sauce that gets the "whoa" and the special editing effects where the heat really starts to be an issue for the guest. On the other hand, we all know this is a terrible tasting sauce that uses an extract to get the heat. There's an opportunity cost for letting this sauce be the stand out sauce that gets a big reaction. It might be better to let newer and better tasting sauces be the one that guests are worried about, or get them to go "wow, this sauce is crazy hot!" It feels like after Da Bomb, the last two sauces don't become spicier, and the guests usually just coast to the finish.
