Jaja I definitely have plenty of times lol but I can't remember if they've ever been in a video! I don't think they have actually. That's the problem with filming so many Mexico videos (I think about 170 now!), I go to a mercado, look at menus and have to try to remember which videos I have had those dishes. I'm sure once I had gorditas or lonches two videos in a row and it caused chaos! Lol I've had the usual pastor, chorizo in Torreón but I'm always very selective. There are certain ones I just don't like, especially with too many vegetables or chicharron (I'm more of a red meat or chicken carnivore)

Listening to you talk, as a Brit, the only "t" you don't pronounce is in the phrase "do you know what I mean?". You said it in this video. Say that out loud and where your tongue is at the end of 'what' is exactly where you put it to roll your r's. It's almost like a 'd'. I think this might make it easier. I live in the Chihuahuan desert in New Mexico and I'm always tickled at people's reaction to the desert. In fairness, I've just returned from Scotland and wandered around constantly whispering, "it's so green!"
@davidostrowski6792 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah I know how do it, it just doesn't always naturally work (sometimes it does). I used to exhale too much as my tongue was too far forward. To practice, I split the word in two like Tor reón then say it quicker. It's gradually becoming more accurate. I said amor earlier and it came out perfectly. My real accent I don't pronounce any Ts! Lol I'll be in Serbia soon and thankfully I find Serbian pronunciation much easier but it'll probably sound Mexican Spanish for a while DOUBLE LOL! I've never been to Scotland!!! Hope you had a great time!
@beckyc1042 жыл бұрын
@@davidostrowski679 it was amazing and the people were lovely. We had Glasgow as a home base and that accent is fabulous! Good luck with your Polish when you get there! I learned Russian in my twenties and, frankly, it's a nightmare! Although Serbian is also Slavic so they may decline every single word in the sentence as well. And who knows, maybe you have some heritage Polish.
@davidostrowski6792 жыл бұрын
Yes I'm half Polish by blood, that's how I became a citizen LOL. I had an old boss from Glasgow! Very thick accent! I really like Serbian because of the phonetic aspect and the sounds/tongue placement are much easier for me. Russian on the other hand... ARGH!! (Most of my English students are Russian)
@beckyc1042 жыл бұрын
@@davidostrowski679 I knew you were Polish! I thought maybe your Grandpa had taught you Polish. I've watched a ton of your videos and thanks for touring Northern Mexico. My sister and I are planning a road trip and you've helped put her mind more at ease about our time in Torreon. (Although we're spending time in Cuahetemoc and she doesn't seem at all bothered about that). For a slightly different, non media induced outlook, we live 40 miles from Juarez and for about three years from around 2008-2011 it really was a nightmare. Also the femicides in Juarez have been ongoing since about 1997 (wikipedia), AND we live around a bunch of Mexicans who I'm sure have PTSD from living through part of the troubles. So our outlook has been formed by proximity, actual knowledge of what went on, and stories from our neighbors. I know things are better now (well, except in San Cristobal de Las Casas lately) and it's nice to see you wandering around unmolested (except possibly by a pack of dogs in Ecatapec.). Also, Russians are lovely and often superstitious. When I lived in Moscow I worked for a British construction management firm. 😂 Small, small world.
