The government is NOT like a household. The government is the ISSUER of money and therefore never needs to borrow money. Nor can a sovereign government which issues its own currency ever be in debt.

ever heard about the imf or world bank? governments do go bankrupt and they do need to borrow be it from their own central banks or the international ones

You're right, but we do insure their money which is a central bank system remember it's a budget deficit not a debt in relation to the economy
