Yeah I have no idea either. As the storm to the west was approaching, you could hear the thunder booms. Shortly after, you would see another one jump. Just like clockwork. 🤣

It was just a lot of show, not much rain. Although, it has been raining steadily since. Mostly have a lot of lightning.

@@stubbsaquatics6080 oh wow. I can believe it. That was horrible. I've never seen hail bust lights and buckets before. We don't get hail too much here. If we do, it's a little super tiny ball. Smaller than a pea. I've never had any damage from hail here.

Mine really love a good thunder boomer. It has always gotten them excited to start jumping. I'm just really afraid of lightning, so I've always watched in the safety of the house, out the window. 🤣

Koi are naturally curious fish. They will occasionally jump to see what's out there. They will also jump under distress from poor water quality, sickness, and parasites. If your fish are in proper water quality, healthy, and free from parasites, it's absolutely normal. Don't worry, it's quite normal for them to jump when the sun's out as well. Mine just jump more when a good thunder storm approaches.
