So much indignation about the fish being so fresh that it is still alive while being prepared. Yet some of us will highly praise a freshly killed steak or kale salad, just because we didn't SEE or perceive that our desires caused other life forms to be harmed or to suffer. I take the point that we do not need to see organisms being killed to be eaten in a video. Maybe it is good this time that we did see it so that we can examine our own sense of self righteousness or double standards. However, some comments are over the top. We step on, harm and kill micro-organisms, smaller creatures that we are not sensitized to have empathy for, like ants etc and other life forms everyday as we go about our business. We do not become so emotionally and physically paralysed with concern and deep, abiding care for these other manifestations of life or stop going about our business because we harm and kill them daily. I think it is reasonable to make the point that we do not want to watch videos that put the killing of other living entities right in our faces. That is reasonable. It is unreasonable to elevate ourselves morally in comments with exceessive condemnation and judgement because, if we are truthful, we are more bothered by SEEING it than we are about the fact that we as humans harm other life forms all the time. It is a necessary edge of the double edged sword that is life. We simply need to balance how we use this sword and how we see life. As long as we exist materially in a physical form, we must contend with the appearance of duality, such as dark and light or life and death, and the fact that as physical creatures we will always be both beneficial and harmful to other creatures in this world. No need to condemn or use self righteousness or supremacy thinking in this situation. Just encourage empathy, understanding, wisdom and appreciation for ALL life, not just those organisms or types of people that we prefer or for which we have a special empathy or bias.
