Oh my goodness! 💜 Giselle, I love your videos! I visited Alexandria in October for the very 1st time. I stayed for 2 days and I ate at that EXACT restaurant at THAT EXACT table!!! 💯 I wish I could show you the pics lol that is the large round table in corner. We had shrimp, a whole fish, and their seafood soup.

Hola Giselle, Oh my God,,,,,, awesome. I visited that restaurant twice this year in January 2024 when I went. It was winter, very kind weather in Alexandria. I liked that restaurant very much. Also, the music ( oldies) in English..... first night...... raining, oldies, a very spectacular atmosphere in there, I started crying not for sadness I was crying for happiness... a lof of flashback. Prices a bit expensive compare with other places out of tourist spots.

That shrimp looks so good! They cooked it the same way I would. I think the bigger ones are called prawns. But I’m not sure. Up at the counter all the fish looked like they were attending a concert. If I didn’t know better I would say they were all having a great time. The view looked very serene. What a great way to begin your trip!

The most important thing is that the meal was tasty after the long journey and you enjoyed it. I was recommended another restaurant in Alex, Qadura and price for the meal was also around 400 egp. have a nice trip!

The Citadel in Alex is a wonderful place to visit....we took a boat ride on the Mediterranean after. It was one of my favorite days in Alex. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your adventures as always!!

I recently came back from Alexandria and loved it again. I ate at the best tourist and non tourist restaurants and cafes with some outstanding view. I highly recommend Flamingo, Caribe, Santorini, Blue View, India Gate, Delice Patteserie and Old Street which does the best Seafood Pasta Alforno. Out of this world high quality food. Europe does not compare to the food and desserts in Alexandria.

@Gventures that's so great! Yes, it's my go to place to have tea and their fresh cinnamon buns and gateaus. I highly recommend going to Blue View restaurant in 'The Walk' pier complex too on the sea, it has a friendly worker called Ahmed who speaks English serving customers. It is so relaxing, over looking the sea to have tea and hot molten lava cake. It's like being transported to Greece. Alexandria has such an eclectic vibe. Authenticly Egyptian but can give the French, Italian and Greek atmosphere too. As a tourist from the UK I will keep returning to this city for the hospitality and cuisine. Flamingo restaurant has real Flamingos as your enter. Gleem Bay is the modern pier restaurants with fusion more high end food. Sultana ice cream parlour is there with the viral ice cream in a can. Everybody must try!

@@waterbearer4627 Yeah I have a thousand and one recommendations from tourists, as well as Egyptians, and Alexandrians themselves. Truly not enough time or space in my stomach to have it all! 😅 But I do love Alexandria, it's my 3rd time, but it's been a while since the last time I was here. I love it when I have my motorcycle, able to cruise around and explore on my own, it's the best. And yes, Alexandria does have special vibes, directly correlating to it's history and international influences, it has that reputation. Much loved by all ❤

@Gventures that's so great, so many people really want to recommend their favourite spots and share them with you. Having your motorbike is really great too to exolore. Have you done the road trip along the coast, west of Alexandria to Marsa Matruh? To see the rocks and crystal blue Mediterranean Sea of Cleopatra beach. I was recommended this by a local in Alexandria but didn't get a chance to go.

I left Cairo on my motorcycle and am on my way to the Siwa oasis, with stops in Alamein and Marsa Matrouh 😁 (First stop is just Alexandria). I've been waiting for this road trip for a while now, just waiting for the weather to cool down so it's bearable to ride for long distances. I know the north coast is popular as a summer destination, but I wanted to ride my bike. It's been great so far!

You cant go wrong in Alexandria with seafood. If you are spending a few days there, you can try liver (kebda) at El Falah (the farmer) .. I was keen to try it when i was Egypt last but my kids kept winging (they are too aussie to try liver)..I ended up missing out

Apperantly still most taxis are old Lada's which are black and yellow, a bit nostalgic..🙂But there are very few Lada taxis in Cairo right? Wow so you had to wait for the restaurant there and when it comes to prices its pretty affordable if you compare with other regional countries like Jordan, Israel or Lebanon..

I hope you enjoyed the food! Just a heads-up, though-it’s quite overpriced there, and most locals avoid it for that reason. Since you’ve already tried it, you might not be up for seafood again, but if you are, there are more affordable and equally delicious options like Arous El Bahar or Ganet El Mohamadiya

It's Egyptian traffic. Alex is the 2nd largest city, and you can still feel it. But it's hard to compare....the tram tracks suck, I will just say that 🤣 Otherwise it's pretty similar to Cairo, I feel.

Hello Gventures, Wow, Alexandria. I read many history books, and it is believed that the Library of Alexandra sunk a long time ago. Most likely from an earthquake. Heraklion also sunk to divers found things all the time there. I think it is cool to time travel in Egypt. Julius Caesar, Cleopatra, Alexander the Great, etc. I'm thinking Gventures to going to Switzerland in the future. The U.S. has changed a lot and plus the elections are 2 days away. Yeah I think so because the horns close to you are the relevant ones and what people listen for. The honking goes way deeper than that too. There are different beeps that can be swearing at someone, etc. 😂

Thanks Yana! Unfortunately, I can't help you, because I don't know anything about spas or the hammam situation in Cairo. I don't like spas or anything like that so I never visit them. I suggest getting on some Egypt facebook groups (like "women expats in Egypt", or something like that) and asking about it. You could also try the Egypt travel facebook groups, but the expats might know more. Just make sure to specify you want the traditional style hammams, and not just a normal spa you can find anywhere in the world. Good luck!

I know! I only went here to check it out on the recommendation, like I said. I obviously knew what it was before I even went inside, as soon as I saw the tourist buses. Shit that is insane price I am living in Alexandria and we get the kilo of shrimps medium size for 500 Egp from local market and it is fresh and cooked as well. Best local market for that if you are still in Alex is cleopatra Zananiri.

@ no in the local market they will cook it for you no need to cook it by yourself they have kitchens in the fish local market. And rice and salads you take it away and then go on the beach rent a table and. Eat by the sea preferably at the sunset 😍 That is the most local authentic here we 99% of the time not eating seafood at restaurants. We order them cooked and ready from local fish market grilled fried baked as you wish and with sides 😉

@@MarinaTravelz I go to cheap places like Shaaban and they cook the fish for me, not outrageously priced. Of course I went to an extremely touristic place by the sea, I know. I have friends from Alex, so I am not completely ignorant about options, and I have been living in Egypt or 3 years 😅 I think I say it all in the video though. I think I mentioned cheaper places and how I could just take it to the sea. I dunno, maybe I say it in a different video, I've been recording a lot

The restaurant you went to has very expensive prices, and there are wonderful restaurants in Alexandria that are cheaper and better than this restaurant, such as the Bride of the Sea Restaurant, the Seagull Restaurant, and the Zafiro Restaurant. For your information, medium-sized shrimp are better than large-sized shrimp.

Damn, what a tourist rip off! Dude, I’m sorry but Fish market was definitely not the right choice...here’s the golden ticket -> “Zephyr” in El Max (El Max is the fishermen part of Alex). 20 minute bike ride from the Corniche and you eat the real alexandrian seafood. Some restaurants there have their own fishing boats, plus you seat literally in the sea! And prices are definitely not that freakin’ nuts! If you ever get the opportunity, remember “Zephyr” in El Max by the sea. Otherwise another great choice would be “Arous El Bahr” not far from Fish market (in a street behind Ice cream Azza to be precise).
