Hi Paul, this video was very fun! Could you please do a video about resealing/reseaming (so completely rebuilding) large glass aquariums? I have a 680litre that I think needs it and I am feeling a bit panicked and like a good Aussie video about it would be amazing, please. I am basically begging honestly! Please give all aquarium rebuilding and repairing tips available😂 I live rurally and there’s no opportunity to have someone else do it . Thank you so much and love the content- watch every video!

To be honest, it’s one of the most horrible things to do😂😂. I think I don’t have the patience to reseal tanks because you need a couple of days and a decent area to be able to do it. I’ve done a few smaller tanks in the past and really find it easier to buy a new tank or use the leaking tank for something that doesn’t contain water. You need to completely strip all the old silicon off the tank and you need to put new silicon in between the two layers of glass so there’s a fair bit to it. I definitely don’t have the space or time to do that currently There must be some Australian videos of how people have done it though.if I wasn’t working 24/7 I could visit a local tank builder and film but unfortunately work work work

Question out of pure curiosity, this space appears to be an undercover outdoor area.... how do you manage the temperature from getting too hot? Or is it not an issue?
@paulstingray7 сағат бұрын
It’s not an issue as it’s not on the hot side of the house. If anything it gets too cold and heating is an issue. Ideally one day I’ll have larger greenhouses that I can regulate the temperature a lot better.

@paulstingray I'm in the planning stages of a Reptile greenhouse down here in Vic, lots of hurdles ahead but I'm super excited about taking on the challenge

@CopperheadCustoms once I move to More land I plan on a huge shed with indoor enclosures for all the pythons and monitors with an outside Avery that they can move into through the wall if that makes sense. obviously individual Avery‘s but that way they’ve got the choice of inside outside, etc.

Those are cool. No filtration? Do you need to change that water?

The frog set ups

Ah No filtration in these setups but I do regular water changes with established water out of my bigger aquariums. Lots of marsh frogs love to poop in the water so it gets out of control if I don’t keep them maintained. I was considering drilling holes and having them on a big system but because I only keep a little bit of water so crickets don’t drown and the frogs don’t breed It would be a little bit more difficult to maintain. is a link at the end of this video to a frog set up that filtered obviously less frogs in that set up and it’s a bigger 90 cm tank.

Breeding in the tubs with no flow or air? Is that because they are labyrinth fish? Or only a few fish so don’t need it
@paulstingray7 сағат бұрын
Labyrinth fish and low stocking levels per volume for adult tetras. Once there’s tetra fry I add a sponge filter. Quite a few fish breed better in quieter water as in the wild they go into the small shallows to spawn and then back into the open water.

I know you are in QLD, how cool does your temp go to in winter? Do you need to add heaters in winter to all your tanks? It’s so great to still hear the passion in your voice even tho you’ve been keeping/selling fish for so long! 🫶🇦🇺

It gets down to around 14c in winter so I heat stuff Power bill = crazy 😂😂😂
